Campgrounds and RV parks near East Richmond Heights, CA

East Richmond Heights sits on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay in Contra Costa County, with quick access to I-80, I-580, and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. The area itself is residential, so most RV travelers base out of private parks in nearby Vallejo, Greenbrae, and along the Carquinez Strait, then day-trip into San Francisco, Marin County, and Napa Valley. Full-hookup options closest to East Richmond Heights include Tradewinds RV Park in Vallejo, which features 78 RV sites with level gravel pads, full hook-ups, 30-50 amp service, and pull-thru sites that accommodate RVs up to 45 feet, plus Vallejo RV Park nearby. West across the bridge, Marin RV Park near Greenbrae offers 87 sites equipped with full hookups, close to the ferry terminal and public transit into San Francisco, and Marin Park serves the same corridor. For a short, self-contained stopover on the Carquinez Strait, Benicia State Recreation Area has three Enroute campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis for fully self-contained motorhomes or trailers; tents are not permitted.

Reservation systems vary by operator. Private parks such as Tradewinds RV Park, Vallejo RV Park, Marin Park, and Marin RV Park take bookings directly through their own websites or by phone, and high-demand summer weekends often need to be locked in weeks ahead. California State Parks uses ReserveCalifornia for standard sites, but the Enroute sites at Benicia State Recreation Area are first-come, first-served with no reservations possible, limited to fully self-contained motorhomes or trailers, and tents are not permitted. For East Bay Regional Park District campgrounds farther inland, family campsites including tent sites, full-hookup sites, and cabins are released on a rolling 12-week window, and reservations must be made at least 2 business days prior to the arrival date through ReserveAmerica or by phone.
