Campgrounds and RV parks near San Pablo, CA

San Pablo sits on the east shore of San Pablo Bay in Contra Costa County, between Richmond and Pinole, with Interstate 80 running straight through town. The location puts RV travelers within roughly a half-hour drive of San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Napa, and the Carquinez Strait, which makes it a practical base for exploring the wider Bay Area rather than a destination in itself. Dedicated RV options in the immediate area are limited and tend toward full-hookup commercial parks rather than tent campgrounds. Tradewinds RV Park, just up I-80 in Vallejo, offers 78 full-hookup RV sites with 30 and 50 amp service and pull-thru spaces that accommodate rigs up to 45 feet. Across the bay in Marin County, Marin Park is an 87 space recreational vehicle park about 10 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, and operates under the names Marin Park and Marin RV Park. Golden Gate Trailer Park in Greenbrae functions primarily as a long-term park. For state-park camping, Benicia State Recreational Area covers marsh, grassy hillsides and rocky beaches along the narrowest portion of the Carquinez Strait, and offers three Enroute campsites on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations, limited to fully self-contained motorhomes or trailers; tents are not permitted.

Booking splits cleanly between commercial RV parks and state parks. Private parks such as Tradewinds RV Park, Marin Park, Marin RV Park, and Golden Gate Trailer Park take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and the larger ones list inventory through Good Sam and similar platforms. Marin Park markets itself as a base for visiting San Francisco, Napa Valley wineries, Muir Woods, and Point Reyes National Seashore, and sits a short walk from the Larkspur Ferry and Golden Gate Transit bus service into San Francisco, so summer weekends tend to sell out weeks ahead. California State Parks reservations are handled through ReserveCalifornia, which operates on a six-month rolling window, with new dates opening each day at 8 a.m. Pacific Time. Benicia State Recreational Area is an exception: its three Enroute sites are first-come, first-served only, with no reservations possible, and are limited to fully self-contained motorhomes or trailers, with no tents allowed.
