Campgrounds near Brass Castle, New Jersey
Brass Castle is an unincorporated community in Washington Township, Warren County, in the western New Jersey Skylands region. It sits within driving distance of the Delaware River, the Kittatinny Mountains, and Spruce Run Reservoir, putting RV travelers close to a mix of private family campgrounds and a state-run reservoir campground.
Most campgrounds in the area cluster along the Delaware River corridor to the west and around the Spruce Run and Round Valley reservoirs to the south. Driftstone on the Delaware sits on the Pennsylvania side of the river a short drive away, and Delaware River Family Campground is located in Columbia on the New Jersey side. Triple Brook Camping Resort and Mountainview Campground occupy the rolling hills between the river and Interstate 80.
For a state-park option, Spruce Run State Recreational Area offers reservoir-side sites less than an hour south. Together these properties cover a range of setups: full-hookup family resorts, riverbank sites, and no-hookup state-park camping.
Things to do near Brass Castle
The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is the region's outdoor anchor, surrounding roughly 40 miles of the Delaware River with hiking, paddling, and swimming access. Driftstone offers canoe, kayak, and raft trips into the recreation area, and both Driftstone and Delaware River Family Campground provide river tubing directly from their properties.
Spruce Run Reservoir covers 1,290 acres with 15 miles of shoreline for boating, swimming at a designated beach, and fishing. The reservoir contains many species of fish including largemouth bass, catfish, sunfish, yellow perch, and carp, with trout and northern pike stocked by the state. The McDade Recreational Trail in the Water Gap offers additional hiking and biking, and off-water options include the Appalachian Trail, the Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia, and the historic villages of Hope and Blairstown.

How to book campgrounds near Brass Castle
Reservation systems vary by property. All advanced camping reservations for Spruce Run are made online at camping.nj.gov, with same-day reservations available online until 2:00 p.m. and walk-ins accepted if space is available. Pets and alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the state-park campground.
Private campgrounds each run their own system. Driftstone reservations are made in person or by calling the campground, and it does not offer online booking. Delaware River Family Campground accepts reservations online or by phone, and Triple Brook takes bookings by phone or through its website, with confirmation dependent on a deposit.
Expect two-night minimums on standard weekends and three-night minimums on holiday weekends at most private properties. Book summer weekends and holiday stays well in advance.
What to expect
Site setups differ noticeably across the area. A majority of Driftstone's campsites are 50 feet wide by 85 to 100 feet deep, most with 50/30/20 amp electric, water, and cable television, and sewer hookups are not available. Triple Brook offers around 217 sites with a mix of full hookups and water-and-electric sites, 20/30/50 amp service, a dump station, laundry, pool, and store, plus cabin rentals and a hot tub.
Spruce Run has 7 trailer-only campsites with water and 30/50 amp electric hookups and a sanitary dump station within the campground; these are campsites 1-4 and 55-57. The remaining sites are no-hookup, with modern restrooms and showers a short walk away.
Cell service and Wi-Fi can be uneven in wooded and river-valley locations, so download maps in advance. A Pennsylvania or New Jersey fishing license is required for anyone 16 or older.

On RVezy, travel trailers typically range from $90 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes from $185 to $275, and larger Class A motorhomes from $250 to $400. Booking midweek or shoulder months like May and September usually offers the best value, since Warren County weekends fill quickly during fall foliage season. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Brass%20Castle%2C%20New%20JerseyDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Brass Castle, NJ?
Good news: your standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Brass Castle. New Jersey does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal-use RVs, including most Class A motorhomes available on RVezy. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and identity verification is handled securely during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home-country license. Most first-time renters in Warren County are pleasantly surprised at how quickly they go from booking to hitting the road.

Every RVezy booking in Brass Castle includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head toward the Delaware Water Gap or Pocono Mountains with confidence. Protection plans cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you select the coverage level that fits your comfort, not the host. While not traditional auto insurance, the plan provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens, such as a windshield chip on I-78 or a minor scrape at a tight campground site. Roadside assistance is a phone call away for flats, lockouts, or battery issues anywhere in northwestern New Jersey.

Booking your Brass Castle RV trip is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy, and a full money-back grace period applies right after you book. If your plans shift or a Nor'easter rolls across the Kittatinny Ridge, you have a clear path forward. Refund outcomes depend on how close you are to your trip start date and whether unusual circumstances apply, and the support team is available to help. If a host cancels, RVezy ensures you receive a refund or travel credit. Tip: book early to lock in the best rigs for fall foliage season with confidence.

nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/rules.htmlCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Brass Castle?
Yes, RV delivery in Brass Castle is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a great choice if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will drive the rig to your campsite at Triple Brook Family Camping Resort in Blairstown, Jenny Jump State Forest, or Worthington State Forest, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before leaving. That means no towing stress, no backing into tight sites, and no fumbling with the awning. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so booking a campground within 30 miles of Brass Castle helps keep costs low.

nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/camping.htmlWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Brass Castle, NJ?
Brass Castle shines from late April through late October, with two standout windows for an RV camping Brass Castle trip. Late September into mid-October is known for fall foliage along the Kittatinny Ridge, with comfortable daytime temperatures often in the 55 to 70 F range. Late May through June brings green hillsides, blooming mountain laurel, temps in the 70s, and fewer bugs than midsummer. Summer ranges from 75 to 90 F and is peak family season but humid, so look for a rig with strong air conditioning. Winters dip into the 20s and 30s with snow possible, so if you're chasing a cold-weather trip, choose a four-season RV with heated tanks.
weather.gov/phi/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Brass Castle?
You'll do great, and Brass Castle is a friendly area for first time renting an RV. The roads around Washington Township and Oxford are mostly two-lane rural routes with gentle grades, ideal for getting comfortable before tackling I-80 or Route 46. Every RVezy host provides a thorough walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, and dump procedures, and you can message them throughout your trip with questions. Prefer to skip the driving? Choose a host who delivers to your campground. Tip: take a short practice loop near the pickup location before heading out, and avoid downtown Hackettstown during weekday rush hour.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat happens if my RV breaks down during my Brass Castle trip?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy rental in Brass Castle includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Route 31, a dead battery at a Worthington State Forest site, or a lockout near the Delaware Water Gap is just a phone call away from help. The roadside team coordinates tows, jump-starts, lockouts, and basic mechanical dispatch across Warren County and beyond. Your host is also typically a quick message away for questions about the specific rig. Tip: save the roadside assistance number from your booking confirmation to your phone for instant access.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Brass Castle RV rental into Pennsylvania or New York?
Yes, cross-state RV travel from Brass Castle is one of the best parts of renting here. You're roughly 10 minutes from the Pennsylvania line via Delaware River bridges, so trips to the Poconos, Jim Thorpe, or Lancaster County are easy. New York is just as accessible, with the Catskills, Hudson Valley, and Finger Lakes within a day's drive. Travel to Canada may be possible with advance host approval, but travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Tip: message the host before booking if you're planning a multi-state RV road trip from Brass Castle to confirm mileage allowances and route specifics.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much will I spend on fuel for an RV trip from Brass Castle?
Fuel is the biggest variable in your budget, but it's manageable with a little planning. Class B campervans typically average 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 mpg, and large Class A rigs 6 to 10 mpg. New Jersey is the one state where all gas stations are full-service, so stay in your seat and let the attendant pump. A weekend loop from Brass Castle to the Delaware Water Gap and back (about 60 miles round trip) in a Class C usually runs roughly $25 to $40 in fuel at current prices. Tip: top off in Phillipsburg or Washington before crossing into Pennsylvania, where prices near the Poconos can run higher.
nj.gov/mvc/vehicles/fullservice.htmHow far in advance should I book a campground near Brass Castle?
For the best campgrounds near Brass Castle, plan ahead, especially for weekends. New Jersey state park sites at Jenny Jump, Worthington, and Stephens are booked through the NJ Outdoors reservation system and popular fall foliage weekends in October fill quickly after opening. Private campgrounds like Triple Brook and Camp Taylor accept reservations far in advance, and Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends are usually claimed by early spring. Tip: if you're flexible, target Sunday-through-Thursday stays for better availability and quieter sites, and look for RVezy hosts offering weekly discounts that pair well with midweek camping.
newjerseystateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are the driving conditions like around Brass Castle?
Driving around Brass Castle is mostly relaxed, with scenic country roads winding through Warren County farmland and the foothills of the Kittatinny Mountains. Route 31, Route 57, and Route 46 are the main arteries and handle RVs well. Interstate 80 runs just north and reaches the Delaware Water Gap in about 15 minutes. A few things to know: some rural roads have low-clearance railroad bridges, so watch signage carefully if your Class A is over 11 feet, winter can bring snow and ice from December through February, and New Jersey requires full-service fueling at every gas station. Tip: avoid Route 22 through Phillipsburg at rush hour and use Route 57 as a calmer alternative.
state.nj.us/transportation/commuter/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Brass Castle?

Private parks like Triple Brook in Blairstown and Delaware River Family Campground offer 30/50-amp electric, water, sewer hookups, Wi-Fi, dump stations, laundry, pools, and camp stores. State parks like Jenny Jump and Worthington provide non-hookup sites with potable water spigots, restrooms, and a dump station on-site or nearby. Most private campgrounds will let non-guests fill fresh water or dump tanks for a small fee. Tip: if you need full hookups for an extended motorhome rental Brass Castle trip, book Triple Brook early since pull-through sites go fast in summer.

Many also include a TV, outdoor awning, propane grill, and onboard generator for off-grid power. Wi-Fi varies, so if you need to work on the road, message the host or plan to use your phone hotspot, which has solid signal across most of Warren County. Tip: review each listing's photos and amenity list carefully to match the rig to your trip style.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Brass%20Castle%2C%20New%20JerseyHow does payment and the security deposit work for a Brass Castle RV rental?
Payment on RVezy is simple and secure, handled entirely through the platform, so you never need to hand cash to a host. You pay the rental total when you book, and a refundable security deposit is placed on your card before the trip starts, typically between $500 and $1,500 depending on the rig. The deposit is separate from the booking payment and is released after the host confirms the RV was returned in good condition, usually within a few days of trip end. To keep things smooth, do a walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's fuel and dump-station instructions, and stay within your mileage allowance. Tip: review add-on fees (mileage, generator, cleaning) before booking to avoid surprises.
