Campgrounds and RV parks near Monmouth Beach, NJ

Monmouth Beach sits on the northern Jersey Shore between Sandy Hook and Long Branch, and RV travelers using it as a base will find most drive-in camping inland rather than on the immediate oceanfront. The closest public option is Allaire State Park, whose Manasquan River corridor supports freshwater fishing and habitat for over 200 species of wildflowers, trees and plants, plus birds and other wildlife, about a half-hour drive southwest. Across Raritan Bay in Brooklyn, Gateway National Recreation Area covers 26,000 acres across New Jersey and three New York City boroughs, with grasslands, woodlands, sand dunes, beaches, ponds, salt marshes and forests. Its Camp Gateway campground at Floyd Bennett Field is the nearest National Park Service site to Monmouth Beach. Inland, Freehold and Jackson offer county and private parks. Turkey Swamp Park has cozy wooded, pull-through sites in a large county park, minutes to Six Flags Great Adventure and ocean beaches. Pine Cone Campgrounds and Tip Tam Camping Resort round out the private options, both within roughly a 30 to 45 minute drive of the shore.
