Campgrounds and RV parks near Oxford, NJ

Oxford sits in Warren County in northwest New Jersey, within easy reach of the Delaware Water Gap, the Highlands region, and the upper Delaware River corridor. The area mixes state-run public campgrounds with long-running private RV parks, so travelers can pick between rustic forest sites and full-hookup resorts within a short drive of town. The closest options include Driftstone on the Delaware and Delaware River Family Campground, both set along the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River, plus Triple Brook Camping Resort in nearby Blairstown. For public land camping, Jenny Jump State Forest sits on a rocky ridge just west of Oxford, and Spruce Run State Recreational Area lies south in Hunterdon County on one of New Jersey's largest reservoirs. Most private parks in this area are seasonal, and the state parks run a defined April through October camping season. Travelers planning a trip outside that window will need to focus on private grounds that stay open longer, or shift the itinerary toward day-use parks.

New Jersey state park sites, including Jenny Jump State Forest and Spruce Run State Recreational Area, are booked through the state's official reservation portal at camping.nj.gov. Both parks accept reservations up to 11 months in advance, and popular weekends fill early. Spruce Run also accepts walk-in reservations when sites are available, with same-day online bookings allowed until 2 p.m. Private grounds each run their own system. Driftstone on the Delaware takes reservations by phone or in person only and does not offer online booking, with a one-week minimum on riverbank sites from late June through Labor Day. Delaware River Family Campground and Triple Brook Camping Resort handle reservations directly through their own websites. For summer weekends and holiday periods, plan to book at least two to three months out, and earlier for hookup sites, cabins, or riverfront pull-throughs.
