Campgrounds and RV parks near Panther Valley, NJ

Panther Valley sits in Warren County, New Jersey, along the Musconetcong River corridor in the state's northwest Skylands region. The area gives RV renters quick access to state parks, private resorts, and the Delaware Water Gap, all within roughly an hour of northern New Jersey population centers. Camping options within a short drive cover the full range. Stephens State Park, part of Allamuchy Mountain State Park along the Musconetcong River near Hackettstown, runs a developed campground from April through October and accommodates both tent campers and RVs, though the road layout and individual sites can be tight for larger rigs. Jenny Jump State Forest sits in Warren County along the rolling terrain of the Jenny Jump Mountain Range, with panoramic vistas of the Highlands and the Kittatinny Mountains to the west, and views of the Great Meadows to the east. For full-hookup camping, private resorts round out the mix. Panther Lake Camping Resort features a 45-acre lake on 160 wooded acres roughly 50 miles from New York City, and The Great Divide Campground, LLC sits on 100 acres in Sussex County, with wooded and open sites for tents, RVs, motorhomes, cabin rentals and rustic accommodations. Goodland Country Club and Spa rounds out the closest options.

New Jersey state parks use one central system. Online reservations can be made through the state's portal to find a New Jersey campground and reserve a site. That single portal at camping.nj.gov covers both Stephens State Park and Jenny Jump State Forest, and campers can make reservations up to 11 months in advance for most state park campgrounds. RV renters should note site-length limits before booking, since state loops favor smaller rigs, and water, electric and sewer hook-ups are not provided except at select water and electric hook-up sites at Spruce Run Recreation Area, with no sewer hook-ups available at those sites. Private campgrounds book directly. Panther Lake Camping Resort and The Great Divide Campground take reservations through their own websites and offices, and Goodland Country Club and Spa handles bookings through its property directly. Confirm rig length, slide-out clearance, and hookup type at the time of reservation, and ask about pet policies if traveling with dogs.
