Campgrounds and RV parks near Seaside Park, NJ

Seaside Park sits on the Barnegat Peninsula on the Jersey Shore, a narrow barrier island bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay. The borough is a residential companion to neighboring Seaside Heights and serves as the northern approach to Island Beach State Park, one of the last undeveloped barrier beaches on the mid-Atlantic coast. Overnight RV camping is not permitted on the barrier island itself, so travelers base out of inland Ocean and Monmouth County campgrounds and day-trip to the beaches. Most usable RV options sit fifteen to thirty-five minutes west of the bridge across the bay. Cedar Creek Campground and Canoe Rent in Bayville is the closest option, followed by Tip Tam Camping Resort and Butterfly Camping Resort in the Pine Barrens region inland. Allaire State Park lies to the north near Farmingdale, and Sun Retreats Long Beach Island covers the southern barrier-island approach. Expect a mix of private resort-style parks with full hookups and a state-park campground with more rustic sites and stricter rig-length limits.

Allaire State Park campground reservations are handled through the New Jersey State Park Service's online reservation system, with sites bookable up to several months in advance. The family campground has been closed for bathroom and shower reconstruction, so confirm status with NJDEP before planning. The campground has a rig-length cap and a limited number of sites suited to larger motorhomes, so filter carefully before selecting. Private parks including Cedar Creek Campground and Canoe Rent, Tip Tam Camping Resort, Butterfly Camping Resort, and Sun Retreats Long Beach Island take reservations directly through their own websites or phone lines. Many require a two-night minimum on weekends and a three-night minimum on summer holidays. For peak July and August dates, book by late winter. Cancellation policies vary by park; read the terms before paying a deposit.
