Campgrounds and RV parks near Tuckerton, NJ

Tuckerton sits on the southern Ocean County coast, between the Pine Barrens and Little Egg Harbor Bay. RV travelers use it as a base for Long Beach Island, the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, and the pine-and-cedar forests inland along the Mullica River watershed. The area mixes private RV parks with a large state forest campground, so most rig sizes and hookup needs can be accommodated within a short drive of town. Private options within roughly fifteen miles include Sea Pirate Campground, Bakers Acres Campgrounds, Atlantic Shore Pines Campground, and Pilgrim Lake Campgrounds. These properties typically offer full or partial hookups, dump stations, showers, and family amenities such as pools and playgrounds. For a more rustic setting, Bass River State Forest lies just west of Tuckerton and provides wooded sites around Lake Absegami. The mix of private and public campgrounds lets travelers choose between resort-style stays close to the beach corridor and quieter, tree-shaded sites in the Pinelands.

Bass River State Forest reservations are handled through the New Jersey State Park Service at camping.nj.gov, with sites bookable up to eleven months in advance. Popular summer weekends at Lake Absegami are best booked as soon as the window opens. Standard tent and trailer sites, cabins, lean-tos, and shelters each have their own inventory, so filter carefully by rig length and site type. Note that Bass River sites do not have hookups. Private campgrounds such as Sea Pirate Campground, Bakers Acres Campgrounds, Atlantic Shore Pines Campground, and Pilgrim Lake Campgrounds take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Weekly and holiday-weekend bookings often require minimum stays.
