Camping near Vienna, New Jersey
Vienna is an unincorporated community in Warren County, in northwestern New Jersey's Skylands region. The area sits within easy reach of the Jenny Jump Mountain Range, the Musconetcong River valley, and the Delaware Water Gap, giving RV travelers a compact base for exploring public forests and private resort campgrounds within a short drive.
Public camping is anchored by two state units. Jenny Jump State Forest sits in Warren County along the Jenny Jump Mountain Range, with hiking trails, an on-site observatory, and a small tent and trailer campground. Stephens State Park lies along the Musconetcong River near Hackettstown and is administratively part of Allamuchy Mountain State Park, with river frontage, trout fishing, and a developed campground.
Private options round out the mix. Triple Brook Camping Resort in Blairstown offers full-service RV sites, cabins, pools, and family programming on rolling terrain near Hope and the Delaware Water Gap. The Great Divide Campground, LLC in Sussex County provides a larger resort layout with a heated pool, a stocked lake, and live entertainment. Goodland Country Club and Spa rounds out the nearby lodging and recreation options.
Things to do around Vienna
Hiking is the headline activity. Jenny Jump State Forest carries several miles of marked trails, panoramic ridge views, rocky outcroppings left by the Wisconsin Glaciation, and the UACNJ observatory that hosts free public programs on Saturday evenings in season. Stephens State Park adds roughly six miles of marked routes shared with mountain bikers and horseback riders, with surfaces that range from flat to steep and rocky.
Water and family recreation fill out the itinerary. The Musconetcong River through Stephens is stocked with trout by NJ Fish and Wildlife, and fishing permits are checked on site. At Triple Brook Camping Resort, guests use two pools, a hot tub, sports courts, and planned weekend activities. The Great Divide Campground, LLC features a heated pool, a stocked fishing lake, and a game room, which travels well with kids on rainy afternoons.

New Jersey's state-park camping season is tightly defined. Both Jenny Jump State Forest and Stephens State Park open their campgrounds April 1 and close October 31, so winter RV travelers cannot count on these two public units for overnight sites. Jenny Jump does keep eight year-round shelters near the top of the mountain available for rent, each with a wood-burning stove and double-deck bunks.
Private resorts run similar but slightly narrower windows. Triple Brook Camping Resort operates on a seasonal calendar in the late-April to mid-October range, with weekend themes and organized activities running through the summer.
Summer is peak. Weekends at the small Jenny Jump campground and at Triple Brook fill quickly, and holiday weekends can sell out well ahead. Late September and early October bring cool nights, thinner crowds, and fall color across the Kittatinny ridges and Delaware Water Gap, which is a strong window for a shoulder-season RV trip before the state campgrounds close for the year.

Absolutely amazing renter. The RV had everything we needed and they were very accommodating with our extension.

I accept the charges as followed. However I do not accept charge for 4 days. I only had the vehicle for 3 days. I'd like to dispute the 4th day charged for 250.00

How to reserve a site near Vienna
New Jersey state parks use a single booking system. Reservations for Jenny Jump State Forest and Stephens State Park are made online at camping.nj.gov, and can be placed up to eleven months in advance. Same-day reservations for Jenny Jump can also be made at the forest office. Both parks list availability, site type, and trailer-length limits during checkout.
Check trailer length carefully. Jenny Jump limits RVs to about 25 feet and offers no electric, water, or sewer hookups at its 22 tent and trailer sites. Stephens has 39 tent and small-trailer sites with a 40-foot max length, and reviewers note tight interior roads that can be difficult for larger Class A motorhomes.
Private resorts book directly. Triple Brook Camping Resort and The Great Divide Campground, LLC handle reservations through their own websites and phone lines, with full-hookup, water-and-electric, and primitive options, plus cabins for renters who prefer not to travel in an RV.
What to expect on the ground
Sites in the two state units are rustic. Jenny Jump's campground has fire rings and picnic tables at each site, along with toilets and water spigots, but no electric, water, or sewer hookups, and pets are not permitted at the tent and trailer sites. Cell coverage on the ridge is inconsistent, and the campground road ends at a quiet dead-end loop.
Stephens State Park offers flush toilets and showers within walking distance of the tent and small-trailer sites, plus a playground and a small open playing field at the upper picnic area. The Musconetcong River is a short walk downhill and adds ambient sound, along with some road and rail noise noted in reviews.
Private resorts feel more like traditional RV parks: water and electric or full hookups, on-site dump stations, laundry, camp stores, and organized weekend activities. Black bears range across northwestern New Jersey, so use provided food storage and keep sites clean.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Vienna, NJ
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Vienna, NJ?
An RV rental in Vienna, NJ typically runs between $95 and $250 per night for travel trailers, $150 to $300 for Class C motorhomes, and $250 to $500+ for larger Class A rigs, depending on age, size, and season. Because Vienna sits in rural Warren County near the Delaware Water Gap, you can often find more affordable options than what you'd see closer to NYC or the Jersey Shore. To save more, book midweek, travel in May or late September when rates dip, and use the price filter on RVezy to sort listings. Many Warren County hosts bundle extras like camp chairs, generators, and linens, so check each listing's included items before comparing prices.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Vienna,%20New%20JerseyDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Vienna, NJ?
Good news: a standard Class D driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Vienna, NJ, even for a large Class A motorhome used for personal travel. New Jersey does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for recreational vehicles used non-commercially. On RVezy, you'll also need to be 25 or older, and you'll verify your ID through the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home license and you're set. Most first-time renters in Warren County find the paperwork straightforward, so you can spend more time planning your Delaware Water Gap adventure.

The protection plan helps cover damage to the vehicle, giving you peace of mind without needing to source separate insurance. During checkout, you choose the level of coverage that fits your trip, whether that's a basic plan for a weekend at Jenny Jump State Forest or a higher tier for a longer Northeast loop. help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Vienna, NJ RV rental?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy applies a standard cancellation policy to every reservation, including a grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund outcomes depend on how far out from your trip you cancel, and RVezy (not the individual host) manages cancellations, so you'll get consistent treatment no matter which Vienna listing you choose. If your host cancels, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credit so your plans aren't left in limbo. If your plans shift, log into your account or contact RVezy support and they'll walk you through the options.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Vienna, NJ RV trip?
Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Vienna, so your dog can ride shotgun to the campsite. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to narrow listings, then message the host to confirm any breed or size notes. Once you're on the road, Worthington State Forest and Stephens State Park both allow leashed pets at designated campsites, and the Delaware Water Gap has miles of dog-friendly trails along the river. Pack a collapsible water bowl and a tie-out stake, because Warren County summers can be humid and most campsites in the area are wooded with shaded spots perfect for a pup to relax.
nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/worthington.htmlCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Vienna?
Yes, RV delivery is one of the easiest ways to start your Vienna trip, especially if you're new to RVing or don't want to drive a big rig down Route 46. Many Warren County hosts will deliver and set up the motorhome or travel trailer right at your campsite, whether that's Triple Brook Family Camping Resort in Blairstown, Delaware River Family Campground in Columbia, or a private property. They'll level the RV, hook up water and electric, and give you a full walkthrough before leaving. Filter by Delivery on RVezy and check each listing's delivery radius and fee, which typically ranges from $2 to $5 per mile from the host's location.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Vienna,%20New%20JerseyHow far can I drive on a Vienna RV road trip?
A Vienna RV trip puts you within easy reach of some of the Northeast's best destinations. The Delaware Water Gap is about 20 minutes west, the Pocono Mountains roughly 45 minutes, Lake Wallenpaupack about 75 miles north, the Jersey Shore (Asbury Park or Long Beach Island) about 90 miles southeast, and the Catskills around 2 hours north. Most hosts include a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 150 miles per day) with extra miles around $0.35 to $0.50 each. If you're planning a bigger loop, look for listings advertising RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is a smart move for any RV road trip from Vienna.
nps.gov/dewa/index.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Vienna, NJ?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping near Vienna. Top picks include Jenny Jump State Forest in Hope (about 10 minutes away, with wooded sites and stargazing at the Greenwood Observatory), Stephens State Park in Hackettstown (sites along the Musconetcong River), Triple Brook Family Camping Resort in Blairstown (full hookups, pool, family-friendly), Delaware River Family Campground in Columbia (rafting and tubing on-site), and Mountain Vista Campground just over the Pennsylvania line. State park sites book up fast for summer weekends, so reserve as soon as the booking window opens to snag a prime spot near Ghost Lake or the Delaware River.
nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/jennyjump.htmlWhen is the best time of year to rent an RV in Vienna, NJ?
Late spring through mid-fall is prime time for a motorhome rental in Vienna, with the sweet spot running from mid-May through mid-October. Summer (June to August) brings warm days in the 80s and lush green forests, perfect for swimming at Stephens State Park or paddling the Delaware. September and October are local favorites, with crisp 50 to 70 degree days and stunning foliage across the Kittatinny Ridge, usually peaking in mid-October. Winters are cold (often 20 to 35 degrees with snow), so look for listings with heated tanks and a furnace if you want a quiet off-season getaway. Booking shoulder-season trips also means lower rates and better campground availability.
weather.gov/phi/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving one out of Vienna?
Yes, first time renting an RV in Vienna is genuinely doable, and most renters feel confident within the first hour on the road. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, hookups, leveling, the toilet, and the propane system, and they're a text away during your trip. Vienna sits at the junction of Route 46 and County Route 519, both wide rural roads that are perfect for getting your bearings before hopping on I-80. If big-rig driving feels intimidating, choose a Class B campervan or a smaller Class C motorhome, or have the host deliver and set up the RV so you barely have to drive at all.
rvezy.com/blog/first-time-rv-rental-tipsWhat happens if I have a breakdown or problem on the road?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking in Vienna, NJ includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you have a flat tire on I-80, a dead battery at Worthington State Forest, or you need a tow off Old Mine Road. Your host is also a direct resource, and most are happy to troubleshoot small issues like a tripped breaker or finicky water pump over text. For anything bigger, RVezy's support team can step in and coordinate. Save the roadside number in your phone before pickup and you can hit the road with confidence.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Vienna RV rental across state lines or into Canada?
Yes, most hosts in Vienna are happy to let you cross into nearby states, which is great because Pennsylvania is minutes away across the Delaware River and New York's Catskills and Hudson Valley are an easy drive north. Popular cross-state routes from Vienna include the Pocono Mountains loop (PA), the Finger Lakes (NY), and Shenandoah in Virginia. Canada trips are sometimes allowed depending on the host and the insurance on the listing, so message the owner before booking if that's your plan. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat should I budget for fuel on a Vienna, NJ RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for. Class B campervans get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and large Class A rigs typically pull 6 to 9 MPG. New Jersey is a full-service state, so an attendant pumps your fuel for you, no climbing out of the cab. The closest big stations to Vienna are along Route 46 in Belvidere and Hackettstown, and there's a Pilot truck stop off I-80 in Bloomsbury that easily fits large RVs. Budget around $0.20 to $0.40 per mile for fuel and you'll be in good shape.
nj.gov/oag/ge/motorfuels.htmHow far ahead should I book a campground near Vienna?
For New Jersey state parks like Jenny Jump, Stephens, and Worthington State Forest, book as early as possible because the reservation window opens months in advance and prime summer weekends fill within hours. Reservations are made through the NJ State Park Service site. Private campgrounds like Triple Brook and Delaware River Family Campground also book up quickly for July and August, so aim for 2 to 3 months out for weekends and 4 to 6 weeks for weekdays. If you strike out on a Saturday night, try a Sunday-Thursday stay instead, since midweek availability in Warren County is dramatically better and the campgrounds feel half as crowded.
nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/camping.htmlWhat are the local driving conditions like around Vienna, NJ?
Driving around Vienna is refreshingly easy for an RV. The village sits at the intersection of Route 46 and County Route 519, both two-lane roads with light traffic outside rush hour. I-80 is just minutes north and gives you a straight shot east to NYC (about 75 miles) or west into Pennsylvania. Watch for narrow shoulders on rural roads like Hope-Blairstown Road, low-clearance underpasses along older Route 46 sections (typically 12 to 13 feet, so know your RV's height), and seasonal black ice from November through March. Avoid downtown Hackettstown during weekday afternoons and skip the George Washington Bridge approach in a big rig, which is exactly why so many people choose delivery.
state.nj.us/transportation/commuter/roads/What amenities do campgrounds near Vienna typically offer?
Most campgrounds near Vienna are well-equipped for a comfortable RV camping stay. Private parks like Triple Brook and Delaware River Family Campground offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer), Wi-Fi, pools, laundry, and camp stores. State parks like Stephens and Jenny Jump are more rustic, with electric hookups at some sites, potable water spigots, dump stations, and clean bathhouses but no sewer at individual sites. Fill your fresh water tank before leaving the host or your last hookup, since some Warren County state park sites only have communal spigots.
nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/stephens.htmlWhat's inside a typical RV rental in Vienna, NJ?
You'll be surprised how much fits in a campervan rental or full-size motorhome from Vienna. Expect a real bed (often a queen) or convertible dinette, a small kitchen with a stove, fridge, sink, and microwave, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many newer Class B and Class C rigs offer Wi-Fi hotspots, solar panels, and built-in generators for off-grid camping near places like Worthington State Forest. Linens, kitchenware, and outdoor chairs are commonly included on RVezy listings. Read the Amenities section on each listing carefully so you know exactly what comes packed and what to bring from home.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Vienna,%20New%20JerseyWhat add-ons and pickup options are available for a Vienna RV rental?
Hosts in Vienna typically offer a great menu of extras to customize your trip. Common add-ons include generators ($15 to $30/day), bike racks, kayak carriers, camping kits with chairs and a fire pit, linen packages ($25 to $75 flat), and pet cleaning fees ($25 to $75). Pickup is usually at the host's home (often within a 15-mile radius of Vienna in Hackettstown, Belvidere, or Blairstown), or you can opt for delivery to your campground. Many hosts offer 100 to 150 free miles per night and a per-mile rate for overages. Ask the host to recommend a local hike, since locals know the best swimming holes along the Musconetcong River.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Vienna,%20New%20JerseyHow does payment and the security deposit work for an RVezy booking?
Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy, so you never hand cash or a check directly to the host. You'll pay your rental total, protection plan, and any add-ons with a credit or debit card at booking, and a refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before your trip starts. The deposit is separate from your booking payment and is released after your return, assuming the RV comes back in the same shape it left. To avoid issues, do a thorough pre-trip walkthrough with the host (photos help), follow the mileage and generator-hour limits in your contract, and return the RV with the fuel and tanks the way you got them.
