The camping window in this part of central New York is short. Fillmore Glen State Park operates its campsites and cabins from mid-May through mid-October, and the swimming pool typically runs on a shorter window from late June into early September. Private campgrounds in the area generally run from spring through early fall, with Cortlands Country Music Park, Spruce Row, and Empire Haven all following roughly the same May-through-September season, with shoulder-season access depending on weather.
Summer is peak season and books out quickly on weekends, particularly around Independence Day and Labor Day. Shoulder months, late May, early June, and September, tend to have more site availability and cooler nights suited to hiking the gorge trails.
Winter effectively closes campgrounds in the area. At Fillmore Glen, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling are permitted on unplowed roads in the winter, but no overnight camping is offered.

Matt was incredible from start to finish. Replies almost immediately to all messages and questions from time of booking, leading up to the trip and during your trip. The RV was immaculate on the outside, the entire cabin, refrigerator, bathrooms, etc. And it came with everything we would need for the trip. Was our first time staying in an RV - Matt showed up promptly when he said he would (even earlier), set up everything for our stay and walked me through everything we needed to know to use and enjoy the RV for a week. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone and would certainly book with him again!

Winter brings real lake-effect snow from November through March, so winter rentals require caution. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk year-round. Pro tip: stick to NY-38, NY-38A, and Route 90 for the smoothest big-rig driving, and avoid narrow seasonal roads like Rockefeller Road if you're in a 30-foot-plus Class A.

Many rigs also include a TV, onboard generator, solar setup, or backup camera. Wifi is typically not built in, but hotspots are easy to add. Delivery and setup is the most popular add-on, with hosts driving the rig right to Fillmore Glen and handling all the hookups. Pickup is usually at the host's home or a meeting spot agreed in advance. Mileage policies vary by listing, with typical free-mile allotments of 100 to 150 miles per day and per-mile fees beyond that. Pro tip: bundle add-ons during booking to keep things simple at pickup.

The deposit amount varies by RV and is released after the host confirms the rig was returned in the same condition. Pro tip: do a quick photo walkaround with your host at pickup and dropoff, return the rig with the fuel and propane levels noted in your agreement, and dump the tanks before returning to avoid extra fees. Doing those three things almost guarantees a smooth security deposit return.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksAre RVs available year-round in Moravia, including winter?
Yes, you can rent an RV in Moravia all year, though winter trips need a little extra planning. Moravia winters are genuinely cold and snowy, with January highs in the 20s°F and lake-effect snow possible from November through March. Fillmore Glen State Park's campground closes mid-October and reopens in mid-May, but many private hosts on RVezy offer winterized rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and propane furnaces perfect for snowy adventures. You can park overnight at private campgrounds that stay open seasonally or use shore power at properties that allow RV stays. Pro tip: ask your host specifically about heated tanks and whether the rig is rated for sub-freezing camping, and pack a small space heater plus extra propane for cozy nights under the Finger Lakes stars.
