Campgrounds and RV parks near Waverly, NY

Waverly sits in New York's Southern Tier along the Pennsylvania border, at the confluence of the Chemung and Susquehanna river valleys. The village serves as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Finger Lakes region to the north, the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania to the south, and the Twin Tiers state park system. Campground options within roughly an hour of Waverly range from small private parks to established New York state facilities. Gardner Hill Campground and Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground offer private-park amenities in wooded lake settings, while Pinecreek Campground provides another private option nearby. State-park camping is available at North - Newtown Battlefield State Park, on a Chemung River ridgeline west of Waverly, and at Robert H Treman State Park south of Ithaca. RV renters typically use Waverly as a hub for day trips to Watkins Glen, Corning, Ithaca's waterfalls, and Elmira's Mark Twain sites, with most campgrounds within a 30 to 60 minute drive of the village.

New York state park campgrounds, including North - Newtown Battlefield State Park and Robert H Treman State Park, are reserved through ReserveAmerica on the state's official Reserve New York State Parks system. Bookings open on a rolling nine-month window from the arrival date, with sites released at 8 AM weekdays and 9 AM weekends during peak season, and popular summer weekends at Treman often sell out shortly after they become available. Private campgrounds such as Gardner Hill Campground, Pine Cradle Lake Family Campground, and Pinecreek Campground are booked directly with the property by phone or on the campground's own website. Holiday weekends and summer Saturdays should be reserved several months ahead. RV renters should confirm site length, hookup type, and any big-rig access limits before booking, especially at older state park loops with tighter turns.
