Campgrounds and RV parks near Bally, PA

Bally is a small borough in southeastern Berks County, Pennsylvania, positioned between the Boyertown area to the west and Quakertown to the east. The surrounding countryside is rolling farmland cut by the Perkiomen Creek watershed, with private RV parks, family campgrounds, and Pennsylvania state park land all within a short drive. Philadelphia sits about an hour to the southeast, Allentown roughly 30 minutes north, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike is easily reached via Route 100 or Route 663. Closest to town, Lazy-K Campground Inc in nearby Bechtelsville offers year-round camping with 30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer, full-hookup options, a laundry room, and a catch-and-release fishing pond stocked with bass, catfish, bluegill, and sunfish. To the east, Quaker Woods Campground, Moyers Lake and Campground, Boulder Woods Campground, and Homestead Family Campgrounds sit in the Green Lane and Quakertown area, most within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Many travelers also base out of Bally to reach French Creek State Park, the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City, roughly 30 to 40 minutes south.

For French Creek State Park, reservations are handled through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system and open up to 11 months in advance, with a minimum three-day advance booking requirement. Sites, cabins, cottages, and yurts fill quickly for weekends between April and October, so book early for holiday weekends and any Friday or Saturday arrival in summer. Private campgrounds in the area, including Lazy-K Campground Inc, Boulder Woods Campground, Quaker Woods Campground, Moyers Lake and Campground, and Homestead Family Campgrounds, take reservations directly by phone or through their websites. Ask about rig length limits, whether the site is back-in or pull-through, and hookup type when booking. Due to Pennsylvania's firewood restrictions tied to invasive pests such as the spotted lanternfly and emerald ash borer, campers are typically asked to buy firewood on-site rather than transport their own.
