Campgrounds and RV parks near Collegeville, PA

Collegeville sits in southcentral Montgomery County along the Perkiomen Creek, roughly a 40-minute drive northwest of Philadelphia. The borough is a practical base for RV trips into the rolling farmland, mill villages, and preserved woodlands of the Schuylkill and Perkiomen watersheds, with quick access to Valley Forge National Historical Park and the Perkiomen Trail. Most overnight camping is found at private RV parks a short drive north and west of town. Evansburg State Park, which sits between Norristown and Collegeville, protects a large block of woodland and meadow along the Skippack Creek and offers a rare stretch of green space in an otherwise urbanized corridor, though RV camping is not permitted inside the park. Private campgrounds in the surrounding countryside cater to families and weekend RVers. Boulder Woods Campground, Homestead Family Campgrounds, Oak Grove Park and Sales, Lazy-K Campground Inc, and Village Scene Park all sit within a short drive, giving renters a mix of wooded sites, pull-throughs, and seasonal amenities without leaving the greater Philadelphia region.

Pennsylvania state park overnight facilities are reserved through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. New inventory opens 11 months to the day before arrival, with a noon Eastern release time. Note that Evansburg State Park does not permit RV camping; day-use is free, and any overnight stays are limited to organized group tent camping. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. Boulder Woods Campground, Homestead Family Campgrounds, Oak Grove Park and Sales, Lazy-K Campground Inc, and Village Scene Park each take bookings by phone or through their own websites. Holiday weekends often require multi-night stays, and seasonal spots are common, so week-of availability tightens quickly in summer. RV renters should confirm hookup type before booking. Boulder Woods, for instance, does not offer sewer at individual sites and provides free pump-out stations plus a paid honey-dipper truck service instead.
