Campgrounds and RV parks near Elizabethville, PA

Water recreation drives most trips. The Susquehanna River supports tubing, kayaking, and smallmouth bass fishing, and the historic Millersburg Ferry runs from Ferryboat Campsites, providing a distinctive river crossing. Camp Hebron adds a swimming pool, boating and fishing on Mountain View Lake, a lighted sand volleyball court, and hiking trails through its wooded acreage. Inland, the Appalachian Trail crosses Peters Mountain just south of Halifax, and state game lands offer walk-in hiking and hunting seasons. Knoebels Amusement Resort near Elysburg and Hersheypark with ZooAmerica in Hershey are both within reasonable day-trip range. Rainy-day options include the covered bridges around Selinsgrove and the antique shops and craft breweries in nearby small towns.

Central Pennsylvania has a humid continental climate with a clear four-season rhythm. Summers are warm and humid, and spring and fall are mild. Most private campgrounds run a spring-through-fall season. Camp Hebron is open from mid-April to mid-October, and Penn Avon offers full camping from April 1 to October 31 and stays open November through March for monthly site rentals. Summer weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the busiest period. Sites with water views tend to fill quickly, so riverfront and lakeside sites should be booked well in advance. Family-oriented resorts near Hershey book earliest because trips are tied to theme-park calendars, with Hersheypark open daily from late May through Labor Day. Winter is the quiet season. At Hersheypark Camping Resort, once temperatures drop below 30 F over the course of three days, water is shut off through April 1, so cold-weather RVers should confirm which sites remain serviced and plan for freshwater fills.
