Campgrounds and RV parks near Elkins Park, PA

Elkins Park sits in Montgomery County just north of the Philadelphia city line, putting RV travelers within a short drive of Center City attractions, the Delaware River corridor, and the campgrounds that ring the metro. The immediate township is residential, so most overnight options for RVs lie a short drive out: small local sites in the northern suburbs, a KOA across the river in South Jersey, and state park facilities upriver near the historic Delaware crossing. Close-in choices include Village Scene Park and Oak Grove Park and Sales in the northern suburbs. South of the city, Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday in Clarksboro, New Jersey is the closest full-service RV park with hookups and is roughly twenty minutes from downtown Philadelphia. Lake Kandle in Sewell offers seasonal lakefront RV camping in Gloucester County. For a more rural, historic setting, Washington Crossing State Park, NJ on the New Jersey side of the Delaware and the Pennsylvania-side Washington Crossing Historic Park sit about forty minutes north along the river.

Private parks handle their own reservations. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday books through the KOA website or by phone, and reservations are recommended, especially during peak season when most sites fill up. Lake Kandle takes reservations directly and runs largely on seasonal contracts, so nightly and weekly RV sites can be limited on summer weekends. For state park sites on the Pennsylvania side, Washington Crossing Historic Park uses the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation portal, and reservations must be made three days ahead of arrival and can be made up to eleven months in advance. On the New Jersey side, online reservations are made at camping.nj.gov, and four group campsites are located in the Phillips Farm area of the park, though the campgrounds there are currently closed until further notice, so verify status before booking.
