Campgrounds and RV parks near Flourtown, PA

Flourtown is a small community in Springfield Township, Montgomery County, adjacent to Erdenheim, Oreland, Whitemarsh, and Chestnut Hill, and sitting just outside the northwestern edge of Philadelphia. It is best known to campers as a neighbor of Fort Washington State Park, a 493-acre day-use park in eastern Montgomery County that lies between Fort Washington and Flourtown along the Bethlehem Pike. Overnight RV options in Flourtown itself are limited, so most travelers base themselves at private campgrounds within a short drive. Village Scene Park and Oak Grove Park and Sales sit closest to town, while Homestead Family Campgrounds and Boulder Woods Campground in Green Lane provide larger wooded properties to the north in southeastern Pennsylvania. Across the Delaware River, Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday in Clarksboro, New Jersey serves as the main full-service RV base for visitors touring the city. From Flourtown, downtown Philadelphia is roughly a 30-minute drive, and Valley Forge sits about 20 miles away, making the area a practical base for both city sightseeing and colonial-history road trips.

Most campsites in Pennsylvania state parks can be reserved up to 11 months in advance through the state's reservation system, with a three-day minimum lead time before arrival. A two-night minimum applies to summer weekend reservations, and the maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Note that Fort Washington State Park itself is day-use only and does not offer overnight camping. Private campgrounds handle bookings directly. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday takes reservations through the KOA website and offers pull-through and back-in full-hookup sites plus cabins. Boulder Woods Campground books through its own reservation process and notes that sites are water and electric only, with four on-site pump-out stations rather than sewer at each site. For summer weekends and fall foliage weekends, book several months out.
