Campgrounds and RV parks near Glenmoore, PA

Glenmoore sits in northern Chester County, roughly an hour west of Philadelphia and within a short drive of some of southeastern Pennsylvania's largest public forest lands. RV travelers use it as a base for the Brandywine Valley, Amish Country in Lancaster County, and the historic corridor from Valley Forge to Philadelphia. The anchor public land is French Creek State Park, a 7,730-acre park that straddles the Schuylkill Highlands and forms the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City. Private options fill in the map around it. Brandywine Creek Campground sits in Lyndell on the banks of the trout-stocked East Brandywine Creek, with manicured lawns and a large fishing pond. Birchview Farm Campground is a family-owned property in Chester County with nearly 200 sites either secluded in the woods or under mature trees, a stocked pond for catch and release fishing, a swimming pool, and a camp store. Closer to West Chester, the Philadelphia / West Chester KOA Holiday in Coatesville offers full-hookup sites with 30 and 50-amp service and pull-through sites for big rigs. Together these properties cover state-park rustic, mid-size family, and full-amenity resort styles.

French Creek State Park uses the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system. Reservations must be made 3 days ahead of arrival and can be made up to 11 months in advance. Bookings can be made using the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757), Monday through Saturday, from 7:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. The reservation window opens at 12:00 PM Eastern Time on the release day, so target that time for summer weekends and holidays. Private campgrounds each run their own systems. Brandywine Creek Campground takes reservations by phone and through its own website. Birchview Farm Campground books through Campspot, and the Philadelphia / West Chester KOA Holiday books through the KOA website or app. Group cabin camps at French Creek require a separate process. An Application for Organized Group Cabin Camp Permit must be submitted to the park office; applications are accepted after January and reservations awarded after March 1.
