Campgrounds and RV parks near Hulmeville, PA

The Delaware River corridor is the main draw. Bucks County River Country, Ralph Stover State Park, and Lake Nockamixon State Park are all within a short drive, offering tubing, paddling, fishing, and hiking. Sesame Place, Peddler's Village, and the Crayola Factory are also nearby, which makes the area a strong pick for families with younger kids. History travellers can walk the grounds where the Continental Army made its crossing of the Delaware River on the way to the Battles of Trenton and Princeton. Philadelphia's museums, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell are a straightforward day trip south, and the Wharton State Forest section of the New Jersey Pine Barrens offers hiking on the Batona Trail and paddling on the Mullica River.

Camping season in the Hulmeville area is concentrated between spring and mid-fall. Most private parks in Bucks County run from April through October, and winter camping options are limited. Unpaved campground roads can become slick in ice storms. Summer is the busiest stretch, driven by family vacations, river tubing, and the Sesame Place season. Reservations for holiday weekends should be locked in well ahead of arrival. Fall brings cooler nights and strong foliage along the Delaware Canal, and it is often the easiest time to secure a site on short notice. Travellers heading to the New Jersey side should note that campgrounds at Washington Crossing State Park are closed until further notice, with online reservations for New Jersey state parks handled at camping.nj.gov. Atsion Recreational Area in Wharton State Forest keeps its fifty tent and trailer sites open all year, though the trailer sanitary station operates seasonally. Confirm status before routing a trip.

Private Bucks County campgrounds tend to offer full or partial hookups, pools, and family amenities, with electric, water, and sewer connections, restrooms, dump stations, and WiFi at the larger parks. Pools, basketball, volleyball, and shuffleboard are common at family-oriented sites. State park sites are more rustic. Group sites at Washington Crossing State Park have fire rings and basic amenities but no hookups or running water, so campers must bring their own water and expect portable toilet facilities. Atsion campsites in the Pine Barrens are sandy and tree-shaded, with potable water, flush toilets, and showers within walking distance, and a twenty-two foot maximum trailer length. Cell coverage is reliable close to Hulmeville and spotty deeper into Wharton State Forest. Pack water, a surge protector, and leveling blocks.
