Camping near Linglestown, Pennsylvania
Linglestown is an unincorporated community in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, roughly ten minutes north of downtown Harrisburg and about fifteen miles west of Hershey. Its location in the lower Susquehanna Valley puts RV travelers within easy reach of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Interstate 81, and Route 322, which link the region to Hershey, Lancaster County, and Gettysburg.
The closest private campgrounds sit along the I-83 and Route 322 corridors. Harrisburg East Campground is the nearest full-service RV park, followed by Hersheypark Camping Resort in Hershey, Hershey Road Campground, and the Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA Holiday to the south. Camp Hebron, near Halifax, offers a more wooded, retreat-style setting north of the city.
Beyond commercial parks, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources operates state park campgrounds within an hour's drive, including sites at Gifford Pinchot, Little Buffalo, and Memorial Lake. The region suits families using an RV as a base for Hersheypark, the state capitol complex, and Amish Country day trips.
Things to do near Linglestown
Hersheypark is the region's main draw, about fifteen miles east, with roller coasters, a water park, and ZooAmerica on the same property. Guests of Hersheypark Camping Resort receive the best price on Hersheypark tickets, free front gate shuttle service, and free extra hours, which makes it a practical base for families with young kids.
History-focused trips center on the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg, the National Civil War Museum, and Gettysburg National Military Park about forty-five miles southwest. Lancaster County's Amish farmland, outlet shopping, and the Strasburg Railroad are within an hour.
Outdoor options include hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail along Blue Mountain, paddling and fishing on the Susquehanna River, and day trips to Memorial Lake State Park near Fort Indiantown Gap.

The Harrisburg area has a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold winters. Peak RV season runs May through October, when weather is warm and nearly all area campgrounds are fully open. Summer weekends around Hersheypark fill fastest, especially between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Spring and fall bring milder temperatures and thinner crowds at many parks. October foliage is a strong draw across the ridges north of Linglestown, and cooler nights make campfire evenings comfortable. Spring can be wet, with river and creek-side sites more exposed to high water in March and April, so check conditions before booking.
Winter camping is limited but possible. Hersheypark Camping Resort is a year-round camping facility in Hershey, while most tent-oriented parks close or reduce services. At Hersheypark Camping Resort, water at tent sites is available seasonally, from mid-April through late October, and many other area parks shut off water once overnight lows stay below freezing.

How to book near Linglestown
Private campgrounds in the Linglestown area, including Harrisburg East Campground, Hersheypark Camping Resort, Hershey Road Campground, and Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA Holiday, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Hersheypark Camping Resort books through the official Hersheypark site and often bundles park tickets into camping packages. Summer weekends and holiday weekends sell out weeks in advance.
For state park campgrounds within driving range, reservations for staying overnight in state parks and forests can be made using the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS (888-727-2757). Most campsites in Pennsylvania state parks can be reserved 11 months in advance to noon of the day of arrival. A 2-night stay is required on weekend reservations during the summer, and there is a 14-night stay maximum between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
What to expect near Linglestown
Most RV parks near Linglestown offer level sites with full or partial hookups, dump stations, laundry, Wi-Fi, and family amenities such as pools, playgrounds, and camp stores. Hersheypark Camping Resort has more than 300 sites on 55 acres, including 50 cabins and a tiny home, with full hook-up sites offering electric, water, sewer, and cable, plus partial and no-hookup tent sites, and a country store, free WiFi, restrooms, showers, and self-service laundry.
Terrain is rolling farmland and wooded ridges, so expect some grade on interior roads and occasional tree cover that can complicate satellite reception or large-rig maneuvering. Cell coverage is generally strong along the I-81 and I-83 corridors.
Mosquitoes and ticks are active from late spring into early fall, so pack repellent. Thunderstorms are common on summer afternoons, and the Susquehanna Valley can see remnants of tropical systems in late summer and fall that produce heavy rainfall and localized flooding.

visitpa.com/things-to-do/outdoor-adventure/rv-campingHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. You pay through the RVezy platform when you book, never directly to the host. Your total breaks down clearly into the nightly rate, service fee, protection plan, taxes, and any add-ons or delivery fees, so there are no surprises before you confirm. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and is returned after the RV is checked back in clean, fueled, and damage-free. Pro tip: document the RV at pickup and return with a quick walk-around video. This makes any deposit conversation painless, and RVezy support can step in as a neutral party if questions come up.
