Lehigh Gorge Campground operates on a similar spring-through-late-fall window, and Moyers Grove Campground and Highland Campgrounds run typical warm-season schedules; check operator sites for exact opening and closing dates.
Summer weekends are the busiest stretch, with holiday weekends and July and August dates filling first. It is advisable to reserve well in advance, especially for summer weekends when the campground fills quickly. Late May through late June offers strong weather with lighter crowds midweek.
Fall brings peak foliage across the Endless Mountains and the Lehigh Gorge, generally in early to mid-October, and cooler nights that suit campfire evenings. Winter camping options are limited: state park campsites are closed, and most private parks are shut down or offer only limited seasonal-site access.
