Camping near Marysville, Pennsylvania
Marysville sits on the west bank of the Susquehanna River in Perry County, just across the water from Harrisburg. The town is a practical launch point for RV trips into the lower Susquehanna Valley, with campgrounds arranged along the river corridor to the north and near the Harrisburg and Hershey suburbs to the east and south.
Close-in options range from wooded, quiet grounds to full-service RV parks. Camp Hebron in Halifax offers 38 wooded sites near Mountain View Lake and Powell's Creek, with a mix of full-hookup, electric, and primitive tent sites. Ferryboat Campsites in Liverpool puts campers directly on the Susquehanna at the landing for the historic Millersburg Ferry, with almost 300 modern sites. Harrisburg East Campground provides year-round pull-throughs close to the interstate and the state capital.
For families combining camping with theme-park visits, Hersheypark Camping Resort is a short drive southeast toward Hershey. King's Campground rounds out the shortlist for travelers looking to stay in the wider river valley area.
Things to do around Marysville
The Susquehanna River is the main draw. Ferryboat Campsites offers kayak and canoe rentals and sits at the landing for the Millersburg Ferry, which crosses the river to Millersburg. Anglers target smallmouth bass and other river species from banks and boat ramps along Routes 11 and 15.
Hiking is close at hand. The Appalachian Trail crosses Peters Mountain just north of Marysville, and Camp Hebron sits on 340 wooded acres in Powell's Valley along that ridge. The Rockville Bridge, a long stone-arch railroad bridge over the Susquehanna, is visible from the riverfront.
For family day trips, Hershey is a short drive east and includes Hersheypark, ZooAmerica, Hershey Gardens, and Chocolate World. Downtown Harrisburg, with the State Capitol and City Island, is a quick drive across the river.

Sandy went above and beyond. Leading up to the rental dates she was in communication, making sure we were on the same page. I opted for delivery rather than pickup, and she made sure the rv was delivered early so we could fully enjoy the rental dates. We had a normal issue w the AC (the unit froze) but she was very communicative and helpful until the problem was solved (she suggested to turn it to fan in case the unit was frozen, and it quickly thawed). Always very sweet and courteous, always responsive. My four year old son loved the trailer, was very upset to understand that we had to give it back 😂. Thanks, Sandy!

How to book campsites near Marysville
Most private campgrounds in the area take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Camp Hebron requires a two-night minimum and a ten-night maximum stay and is pet and alcohol free. Ferryboat Campsites, Harrisburg East Campground, and Hersheypark Camping Resort all accept online bookings.
Summer weekends, holidays, and Hersheypark event dates fill first. Reserve Hersheypark Camping Resort well in advance for July, August, and Halloween and Christmas Candylane weekends. Riverfront sites at Ferryboat Campsites and full-hookup pull-throughs at Harrisburg East also go quickly.
Pennsylvania State Parks in the wider region are booked through the state's ReserveAmerica portal, with a three-day advance requirement and an eleven-month booking window. DCNR asks campers not to move firewood long distances into state parks and forests. Buy firewood on site at the campground where possible.
What to expect on-site
Site types vary widely. Harrisburg East Campground focuses on level, full-hookup pull-throughs with 30 and 50-amp service, cable, and Wi-Fi, and is well suited to larger rigs on overnight or transit stays. Hersheypark Camping Resort offers a mix of RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and other lodging, with a shuttle to the park.
Ferryboat Campsites has a large seasonal-resident population alongside transient sites, with cable TV, Wi-Fi hotspots, comfort stations, and boat, golf-cart, and pedal-cart rentals. Camp Hebron is more rustic, with 38 wooded sites, a heated bathhouse, a covered pavilion, a dump station, and seasonal access to a swimming pool and lake.
Expect some highway or rail noise at parks close to the interstates and active rail lines through the river valley. Bathhouses at the larger parks are generally well maintained, and most campgrounds sell firewood and basic supplies on site.
