Campgrounds near Nazareth, Pennsylvania
Nazareth sits in Northampton County in the Lehigh Valley of eastern Pennsylvania, about 35 miles from the Delaware Water Gap and within an hour of the southern Poconos. RV travelers use the town as a base for both regional lakes and mountain camping, with several private campgrounds inside a short drive.
Closest to town is Evergreen Lake Campground in nearby Bath, established in 1965 on a 300-acre site at the base of Blue Mountain, with wooded shady sites tucked into the base of Blue Mountain and modern restrooms with hot showers, plus a 25-acre manmade spring-fed lake. Silver Valley Campsites in Saylorsburg and Camp Charles Campgrounds near Bangor add family-oriented options with pools, cabins, and full-hookup RV sites.
Heading north into Carbon and Monroe counties, Don Laine Campground sits on top of a hill in Palmerton, close to Beltzville State Park for fishing and boating, and Pocono Vacation Park in Stroudsburg accommodates RVs up to 60 feet with full hookups in the heart of the Poconos tourist corridor.
Things to do near Nazareth
On-site amenities at the private parks cover most kid-friendly needs. Evergreen Lake offers license-free fee fishing with no catch limit, and the lake and pond are fully stocked with trout, bass, catfish, and sunfish. Mini golf is available, and row boat, paddle boat, and fishing pole rentals can be arranged on site, along with a sandy swim beach. Silver Valley Campsites and Camp Charles Campgrounds add pools, game rooms, and organized weekend activities for families.
Off site, the Lehigh Valley and Poconos put a lot within a short drive. The Appalachian Trail crosses Blue Mountain just north of town, Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center offers trails along Bushkill Creek, and Beltzville State Park and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area cover swimming, paddling, and hiking. Don Laine Campground sits roughly 18 miles from Pocono Raceway, a draw for race weekends.

Most private campgrounds around Nazareth follow a spring-through-fall calendar. Evergreen Lake Campground is open April 15 to October 15, Don Laine Campground is open May 1 to November 1, and Pocono Vacation Park in Stroudsburg is a year-round family campground, which gives cold-weather RV travelers a Poconos option outside the standard season.
Summer is peak. July and August bring the warmest weather, the busiest weekends, and the fullest activity calendars, with themed events, live music, and pool programming across the private parks. Fourth of July and Pocono Raceway race weekends fill sites well in advance.
Shoulder seasons work well for quieter stays. Spring wildflowers and fall foliage draw hikers to the Appalachian Trail and state parks, and reservations are easier to secure outside July and August. Winter camping is limited: most Pennsylvania state park campgrounds are seasonal, so plan around the private parks and state park campgrounds that stay open year-round.

Great weekend getaway!
Kami A. - Nov 2024
Great vehicle and friendly owners. This compact camper has a lot of creature comforts while allowing one to maneuver and park in regular parking lots. The van is really easy to drive and handles really nice. The beds were comfortable and IMO accommodate 2 adults (top bed) and 1 adult or 2 kids in the lower bed. We were able to use the bike rack, too, and that worked great for a road bike and mountain bike (I think 2 mountain bikes might not fit unless the handle bars were turned on 1 of them). We didn't use the, generator, heater, hot water, shower, sink, microwave or toilet so I can't comment on them but I wish we rented it longer so we could've taken advantage of all this van has to offer. We would absolutely rent again.

Great holiday weekend in Dalton's camper! He was an amazing host, and everything was as described. We had the camper delivered and picked up by Mike, who was also awesome! Thanks for a great weekend!
Stephanie H. - Sep 2026
Dalton's Jayco is the perfect option for a small family. There's plenty of sleeping options for the kids, and the tub is a great bonus for bath time. The camper is well maintained and everything was functional. Delivery and pick up to the site went smoothly. We're hoping it's available next year too!

How to book campgrounds near Nazareth
Private campgrounds around Nazareth take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Evergreen Lake Campground, Silver Valley Campsites, Camp Charles Campgrounds, Don Laine Campground, and Pocono Vacation Park all handle bookings this way, and several list availability on third-party platforms as well. Call ahead for holiday weekends and race weekends, when many sites go to seasonal campers.
For nearby state parks, Pennsylvania uses a single reservation system through ReserveAmerica. Most campsites in Pennsylvania state parks can be reserved 11 months in advance to noon of the day of arrival, with new dates released at noon Eastern Time. To receive a confirmed reservation, full payment must be received by the Bureau of State Parks within ten days of making the reservation, and a non-refundable transaction fee applies. Popular Pocono-area parks such as Hickory Run and Promised Land fill quickly for summer weekends, so booking early in the 11-month window is the safest approach.
What to expect on arrival
Expect a mix of seasonal residents and short-term guests at the private parks. Pocono Vacation Park attracts a mix of seasonal residents, weekenders, and vacationers, and sites consist of dirt and grass surfaces that reviewers note are not level, though their length helps compensate for front-to-back slope issues. Silver Valley Campsites similarly hosts long-term seasonals alongside transient sites.
Hookups are generally strong. Pocono Vacation Park accommodates RVs up to 60 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, and 50 and 30 amp full hookups are available with pull-through sites. Don Laine offers full hookup sites with 50 amp electric and is big-rig friendly.
Pennsylvania state park campsites vary from full-hookup to rustic. The Bureau of State Parks has been adding full-hookup campsites, which include sewer, water, and electric hookups, to selected campgrounds. Quiet hours and alcohol restrictions apply on state park property.

PennDOT only requires a non-commercial Class B license if a single RV weighs more than 26,000 pounds, which is well above the size of the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels most guests book on RVezy. pa.gov/agencies/dcnr/state-parks/find-a-park/hickory-run-state-park.htmlWhen is the best time of year for RV camping in Nazareth?
Late spring through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping Nazareth. May and June bring pleasant 65 to 80 degree days perfect for hiking the Appalachian Trail near Lehigh Gap, July and August deliver classic summer highs in the low 80s with swimming weather on the Delaware River, and late September into mid-October explodes with foliage across the Poconos. Winters are genuinely cold, averaging around 20 to 40 degrees in January with regular snow, so many campgrounds close from late October through April. Pro tip: book a foliage week in early October at least four to six months ahead because Pocono campgrounds fill fast.
weather.gov/ctp/I've never driven an RV before. Is it really doable in the Nazareth area?
Yes, and the Lehigh Valley is a great place for first time renting an RV. Roads like Route 33, Route 22, and Route 248 around Nazareth are wide, well-maintained, and far less stressful than driving in New York City or Philadelphia. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering propane, the generator, slide-outs, and the dump station, so you're never left guessing. If you'd rather skip driving entirely, book a host who offers delivery and you'll only need to know how to relax. Pro tip: do your first fuel-up at a large pull-through station on Route 248 before heading north into the Poconos.
penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Pages/default.aspxWhat happens if my RV breaks down during my Nazareth trip?
You're covered around the clock. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app for quick questions like resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater, and RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's roadside assistance info card at pickup so it's saved on your phone if cell service gets spotty in the mountains.

Pro tip: a 4 to 5 day Poconos-to-Finger-Lakes loop is the perfect first big trip.
visitpa.com/region/pocono-mountainsHow much should I budget for fuel on an RV trip from Nazareth?
Fuel is usually the second biggest line item after the rental itself, so let's make it predictable. Around Nazareth, regular unleaded and diesel prices fluctuate, but Pennsylvania fuel taxes are among the country's highest. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A rigs 6 to 10 MPG. A 300-mile round trip into the Poconos in a Class C will typically use 25 to 35 gallons of gas. Pro tip: warehouse club fuel stations near Airport Road in Allentown are consistently among the cheapest fuel stops before heading out, and you can check current local prices on the EIA weekly fuel report.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Nazareth?
Earlier is better, especially for the popular spots. Pennsylvania state parks like Hickory Run, Promised Land, and Ricketts Glen open reservations up to 11 months in advance through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends and October foliage dates often sell out the moment they release. Private parks like Driftstone on the Delaware and Mountain Vista typically take bookings many months out and fill fast for July 4th and Labor Day. For a regular weekday stay in shoulder season, 2 to 4 weeks of lead time is usually fine. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for the exact 11-month-ahead date so you can book the moment the window opens.
pennsylvaniastateparks.reserveamerica.com/What are driving conditions like around Nazareth and the Poconos?
Driving here is very RV-friendly once you know the basics. Local roads like Route 191, Route 248, and Route 33 are wide and gently rolling, and I-78 and I-80 connect you to the Poconos and the rest of the Northeast. A few heads-ups: the Pennsylvania Turnpike has higher tolls for larger Class A rigs, mountain stretches of I-80 near the Delaware Water Gap have steep grades (use lower gears descending), and winter brings snow and ice from December through March. Downtown Nazareth has a few narrow historic streets near Center Square, so stick to the main routes in larger RVs. Pro tip: check 511PA for real-time traffic and weather alerts before rolling out.
511pa.com/What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Nazareth?
Most campgrounds near Nazareth are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Private parks like Mountain Vista, Robin Hill, and Driftstone offer full hookups (water, 30 or 50 amp electric, and sewer), hot showers, laundry, camp stores, and Wi-Fi at many sites. Pennsylvania state parks like Hickory Run and Promised Land provide modern sites with flush restrooms and warm showers, with select electric-hookup loops. You'll find dump stations and potable water fills at virtually every campground. Pro tip: if you're staying somewhere without sewer hookups, plan a quick dump-and-fill stop on your way home so you return the RV ready to go.
pa.gov/agencies/dcnr/state-parks/find-a-park/hickory-run-state-park.htmlWhat's typically included inside an RV rental in Nazareth?

Many listings also include a TV, generator or solar, outdoor speaker, and basic linens and towels. Campervan rental Nazareth options (Class B) are more compact but still include sleeping, a kitchenette, and often a wet bath. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Nazareth%2C%20PennsylvaniaWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when I rent an RV in Nazareth?
Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. Common add-ons for an RV rental Pennsylvania trip include linens and bedding kits, camp chairs and outdoor tables, propane fills, generator hours, bike racks, BBQs, and kayaks (great for the Delaware River). Pickup is usually at the host's home or a nearby meeting spot, and many hosts in the Lehigh Valley offer delivery within 30 to 60 miles for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies are set per listing: some include 100 miles per night, others list unlimited mileage. Pro tip: book a Friday afternoon pickup and a Monday morning return when possible, since many hosts offer flexible pickup and return windows midweek.

Payment is simple and the security deposit is separate from your booking total. When you rent an RV in Nazareth through RVezy, you pay the rental securely through the platform (never directly to the host) using a credit or debit card. A security deposit hold is placed on your card shortly before your trip and released after the host confirms the RV came back in the same condition it left in. Deposit amounts are set on each listing. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a quick video at pickup and drop-off so deposit release is fast and hassle-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Nazareth RV rental on a winter trip?
Yes, winter RVing around Nazareth is a real adventure if you pick the right rig. Some hosts list four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and upgraded insulation, perfect for a ski weekend at Camelback (about 24 miles north) or Blue Mountain (about 20 miles west). Use the message-host feature to confirm the RV is winterized for active use, not just storage. Most state park campgrounds close from late October to mid-April, but some private parks stay open year-round with shore power hookups so your furnace can run all night. Pro tip: pack a heated water hose, RV-safe antifreeze for the holding tanks, and tire chains if a snowstorm is in the forecast.
