Campgrounds near Pocono Ranch Lands
Pocono Ranch Lands is a residential community in Lehman Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania, sitting in the Pocono Mountains just off U.S. Route 209 and within easy reach of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of the Delaware River corridor on the Pennsylvania side and the Kittatinny Ridge across the state line in New Jersey.
RV renters typically base themselves at one of a few nearby options. Dingmans Campground is a 65-acre, 134-site rustic campground located along the Delaware River in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DWGNRA), and it is the closest developed park-service campground on the Pennsylvania side. Timothy Lake North RV and Timothy Lake South RV, a paired Thousand Trails property near East Stroudsburg, add resort-style amenities to the mix.
Across the Delaware in New Jersey, Swartswood State Park provides a quieter, lake-focused alternative on a 519-acre natural glacial lake where only electric motors are permitted. Together these options cover full-hookup, partial-hookup, and rustic RV camping within roughly a half-hour to an hour of Pocono Ranch Lands.
Things to do near Pocono Ranch Lands
Most trips center on the Delaware River and the surrounding parkland. The 65-acre riverside setting at Dingmans Campground provides direct access to nearly 70,000 acres of protected parkland, and it is the only developed campground on the Pennsylvania side of the park. The 32-mile McDade Recreational Trail runs directly through the property, creating easy access to hiking and biking, and the Delaware River is accessible from the campground's boat launch.
Waterfalls are a major draw. Bushkill Falls, Dingmans Falls, and Raymondskill Falls are all within a short drive, along with ridgeline hikes near the Delaware Water Gap. Timothy Lake North RV and Timothy Lake South RV add on-site pools, mini golf, fishing, and organized family activities for guests who want a resort-style day between excursions.
At Swartswood State Park, families use the swim beach, rent canoes or kayaks, and fish the lake. Trails around the shoreline suit shorter walks with kids.

Camping in the Pocono Ranch Lands area is heavily seasonal. Dingmans Campground opens mid-April and operates through early October, with exact dates changing each year. Timothy Lake North RV is also a seasonal operation, while its sister property, Timothy Lake South, offers year-round camping for travelers arriving in the shoulder or winter months.
Across the river, Swartswood State Park campsites are open April 1 through Oct. 31, giving RV travelers a full spring-to-fall window on the New Jersey side. Summer weekends from late June through August are the busiest stretch, driven by families from the New York and Philadelphia metros. Pocono fall foliage reaches peak color through the second and third weeks of October, pulling a second wave of demand at the riverfront sites.
Winter closures are the norm at most parks in the area. Snow, ice, and freezing overnight temperatures shut down water hookups and restrict access to unpaved loops. Travelers planning a cold-weather trip should confirm which specific loops and hookups remain open before booking.
How to book campgrounds near Pocono Ranch Lands
Reservation systems vary by operator. Reservations at Dingmans Campground can be made online at the Dingmans Campground reservation web page or by calling (570) 828-1551, with sites released well ahead of the spring opening. Riverfront and walk-in river sites go first, so peak-summer and foliage weekends should be locked in months in advance.
Timothy Lake North RV and Timothy Lake South RV are Thousand Trails properties. Members book through the Thousand Trails portal; non-members can inquire about nightly availability directly with the resort.
Sites at Swartswood State Park can be booked online, up to a year in advance, for a maximum of 14 days, through the New Jersey state park reservation system. Popular summer weekends are competitive at release.
What to expect on-site near Pocono Ranch Lands
Expect a mix of rustic and resort experiences within a short radius. At Dingmans, campers can choose from rustic tent sites, peaceful riverfront campsites or RV sites with water and electrical hookups, and central dump stations and bathhouses add convenience for RV travelers. The campground is a dry facility and cell coverage is limited, so plan for offline navigation and download entertainment for kids in advance.
Timothy Lake North RV leans resort-style, with 50-amp hookups, paved interior roads, a country store, laundry, and pool access shared with the South property. Sites are wooded and generally suit larger rigs.
Swartswood is a state-park operation. Sites are simpler than at the private resorts, with a mix of open and wooded settings near the lake. The campground accommodates RVs up to 35 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections.

Spring (May to June) brings wildflowers and waterfall season at Bushkill and Raymondskill Falls, while winters dip into the teens and 20s with reliable snow for skiing at Camelback and Big Bear.
