Campgrounds and RV parks near Rutledge, PA

Rutledge is a small borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, about nine miles southwest of Philadelphia. The borough itself is compact and residential, so RV travelers plan to camp at parks in the surrounding suburbs and across the Delaware River in South Jersey, then use Rutledge as a jumping-off point for the city and the Delaware County countryside. Most full-hookup RV options sit within a 20 to 40 minute drive. The Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday in Gloucester County, NJ is the closest full-service park with pull-through and back-in sites, and it markets itself as roughly 20 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. Additional nearby choices include Four Seasons Campgrounds, Lake Kandle, Old Cedar Campground, and Camp Country Center, spread across South Jersey and outer Delaware County. For day trips, Ridley Creek State Park sits just west of Rutledge and covers more than 2,600 acres of woodlands and meadows, offering hiking, biking, fishing, and horseback riding within easy reach of the city.

Private parks handle their own reservations. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday books through KOA.com or by phone, with pull-through, back-in, and KOA Patio RV sites available. Four Seasons Campgrounds, Old Cedar Campground, and Camp Country Center take reservations directly through their own websites or offices. Lake Kandle is heavily seasonal, opens roughly late April through the first Sunday of October, and in recent seasons has prioritized seasonal renters over nightly bookings, so travelers should contact the campground directly. Ridley Creek State Park offers only organized group tenting for qualified groups from April through October, so families looking for state-park RV or tent camping near Philadelphia are typically directed to French Creek State Park. Pennsylvania State Park reservations can be made up to 11 months ahead with a 3-day minimum advance booking, online through ReserveAmerica or by calling 888-PA-PARKS.
