Campgrounds and RV parks near Spring City, PA

Spring City sits in northern Chester County along the Schuylkill River, roughly an hour northwest of Philadelphia and within easy driving distance of several established campgrounds. The surrounding region blends rolling farmland, wooded ridges, and historic villages, giving RV travelers a base for exploring both natural areas and colonial-era sites. The standout public option is French Creek State Park, which straddles the Schuylkill Highlands and covers 7,730 acres, making it the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City. Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site sits within the park's boundaries, so history and hiking are found side by side. Private campgrounds fill in the gaps for full-hookup RV travel. Lazy-K Campground Inc, Brandywine Creek Campground, Boulder Woods Campground, and Oak Grove Park and Sales all operate within a short drive, offering a mix of seasonal sites, shorter stays, and family-oriented amenities.

For French Creek State Park, reservations go through the Pennsylvania State Parks system. You can reserve one of 226 campsites, including cabins, yurts, and cottages, via the Pennsylvania State Parks website. Campsite reservations open 11 months in advance, and all sites must be reserved a minimum of three days in advance. Some sites may be available only from the campground on a first-come-first-served basis. Private campgrounds such as Lazy-K Campground Inc, Brandywine Creek Campground, Boulder Woods Campground, and Oak Grove Park and Sales handle reservations directly by phone or through their own websites and third-party booking platforms. For summer weekends and fall foliage dates, book several weeks or months ahead. Confirm rig length limits, hookup type, and pet policies at time of booking.
