Campgrounds and RV parks near St. Lawrence, PA

St. Lawrence is a small borough in Berks County, just east of Reading in southeastern Pennsylvania. The location puts RV travelers within a short drive of the Schuylkill River corridor, Amish farmland to the south in Lancaster County, and the forested Hopewell Big Woods to the southeast. The surrounding terrain is a mix of rolling farmland, hardwood ridges, and small lakes. The closest public campground is French Creek State Park near Elverson, a 7,730-acre park that straddles the Schuylkill Highlands in Berks and Chester counties, which anchors most trips built around hiking, paddling, and history. Private RV resorts cluster to the west and south in Lancaster County, including Sun Retreats Lancaster County, Sun Outdoors Lancaster County, and Adventure Bound Oak Creek. Sun Valley RV Campground is another option in the broader region. Most travelers use St. Lawrence as a base for day trips into Reading, Lancaster, and the Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, then return to a mix of state-park sites or full-service private resorts at night.

French Creek State Park uses the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system through ReserveAmerica or by calling toll-free 888-PA-PARKS. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance and must be made at least 3 days ahead of arrival. Sites include electric, non-electric, and full-hookup options, plus ten modern cabins that sleep six, three camping cottages that sleep five, and two yurts that sleep four. In partnership with Timberline Glamping, DCNR is bringing glamping to French Creek State Park in 2026. Private resorts handle their own bookings. Sun Retreats Lancaster County and Sun Outdoors Lancaster County take reservations through the Sun Outdoors website. Adventure Bound Oak Creek and Sun Valley RV Campground book direct through their own sites. For summer weekends and October foliage, plan to reserve two to three months out; holiday weekends can sell out closer to when the 11-month window opens.
