Camping near Stockertown, Pennsylvania
Stockertown is a small borough in Northampton County that sits in the Lehigh Valley region, just off Pennsylvania Route 33. That position puts RV travelers within a short drive of Bethlehem, Easton, and Allentown, plus the southern edge of the Pocono Mountains.
The closest developed campground is Evergreen Lake Campground in Bath, a wooded property at the base of Blue Mountain built around a 25-acre stocked lake, with 250 wooded sites offering water, sewer, electric, and cable TV hookups. Nearby options include Camp Charles Campgrounds, Hickory Lake Campground, and Silver Valley Campsites, all within easy driving range of Stockertown.
For travelers willing to head north into the Poconos, Pocono Vacation Park near Stroudsburg operates with full-hookup sites and cabins, useful for shoulder-season trips when many Lehigh Valley campgrounds are closed. There are no state park campgrounds immediately at Stockertown, since the nearby Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center is day-use only.
Things to do near Stockertown
Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center sits just north of Stockertown and covers 1,168 acres of forests, fields, and creeks, with hiking through Henrys Woods and along Bushkill Creek. The park has about 18.5 miles of multi-use trails open to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers, and there is no entrance fee.
Evergreen Lake Campground offers on-site fishing on its stocked lake, along with rowboat and paddle boat rentals, a sandy swim beach, mini golf, and an on-site arcade. Anglers can also fish Bushkill Creek, which the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks with trout.
Day trips work well from a Stockertown base: historic Bethlehem and Easton are short drives, and Blue Mountain, the Delaware Water Gap, and Pocono attractions are within about an hour.

Great weekend getaway!
Kami A. - Nov 2024
Great vehicle and friendly owners. This compact camper has a lot of creature comforts while allowing one to maneuver and park in regular parking lots. The van is really easy to drive and handles really nice. The beds were comfortable and IMO accommodate 2 adults (top bed) and 1 adult or 2 kids in the lower bed. We were able to use the bike rack, too, and that worked great for a road bike and mountain bike (I think 2 mountain bikes might not fit unless the handle bars were turned on 1 of them). We didn't use the, generator, heater, hot water, shower, sink, microwave or toilet so I can't comment on them but I wish we rented it longer so we could've taken advantage of all this van has to offer. We would absolutely rent again.

Great holiday weekend in Dalton's camper! He was an amazing host, and everything was as described. We had the camper delivered and picked up by Mike, who was also awesome! Thanks for a great weekend!
Stephanie H. - Sep 2026
Dalton's Jayco is the perfect option for a small family. There's plenty of sleeping options for the kids, and the tub is a great bonus for bath time. The camper is well maintained and everything was functional. Delivery and pick up to the site went smoothly. We're hoping it's available next year too!

How to book near Stockertown
Private campgrounds around Stockertown, including Evergreen Lake Campground, Camp Charles Campgrounds, Hickory Lake Campground, Silver Valley Campsites, and Pocono Vacation Park, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone rather than through a central portal. Summer holiday weekends, particularly Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, book out months in advance, so it is worth confirming site type and rig length before arrival.
For Pennsylvania state parks, overnight reservations run through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS, and most sites can be booked up to 11 months in advance, with new inventory released at noon Eastern Time. Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center is day-use only, so overnight stays require one of the private options in the area.
What to expect around Stockertown
Sites around Stockertown lean toward wooded, family-oriented private campgrounds rather than backcountry settings. Evergreen Lake Campground, for example, offers sites with water, sewer, electric, and cable TV hookups, along with modern restrooms with hot showers, laundry, a sandy beach, mini golf, and an arcade. Rigs of most sizes fit, though some sites are close together and may not be fully level.
Expect humid summer nights, mosquitoes near lakes and creeks, and the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms. Cell service is generally solid in the Lehigh Valley and can weaken as travelers move north into the Poconos.
Many campgrounds in the region host weekend activities such as themed dinners, hayrides, horseshoe tournaments, and flea markets, so families should ask about the event schedule when booking.
