Campgrounds and RV parks near Stowe, PA

Stowe is a small community in Montgomery County on the western edge of Pottstown, along the Schuylkill River about 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The area sits near the meeting point of Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties, giving RV travelers quick access to public campgrounds in the Schuylkill Highlands and private parks in the Brandywine Valley. The anchor public option is French Creek State Park, a 7,730-acre unit that is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington, D.C., and New York City. It offers modern electric, non-electric, and full-hookup sites, plus cabins, cottages, and yurts, all bookable through the Pennsylvania State Parks system. Private options fill in the gaps for shorter stays and full-hookup RV needs. Lazy-K Campground Inc sits nearby in the Pottstown area, while Brandywine Creek Campground in Lyndell runs seasonally along the East Brandywine Creek. Birchview Farm Campground rounds out the local list for travelers who want a quieter, farm-based stay within short driving distance of Stowe.

For French Creek State Park, reservations are handled through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system, online or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Sites can be booked up to 11 months in advance, with a minimum lead time of three days before arrival. Cabins, cottages, and yurts book earliest for summer weekends and fall foliage dates. Private campgrounds in the Stowe area, including Lazy-K Campground Inc, Brandywine Creek Campground, and Birchview Farm Campground, generally take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites. Deposits are typical at booking. Firewood should be purchased on site at state parks, since Pennsylvania restricts bringing outside firewood into parks due to invasive-insect rules.
