Campgrounds and RV parks near Upland, PA

Philadelphia is the main draw. Families based at Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday can reach Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the sports complex in South Philadelphia in roughly 20 to 30 minutes. Camden waterfront attractions, including the Adventure Aquarium and Battleship New Jersey, sit just across the river. Closer to Upland, Ridley Creek State Park offers day-use hiking and picnicking, and the Brandywine Valley museums and Longwood Gardens are a short drive west. Lake Kandle provides on-site swimming in a lake and pool, and Four Seasons Campgrounds has fishing, a swimming pool, and a playground. Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore beaches are within roughly an hour by car for day trips.

The main RV season in the Philadelphia region runs from late spring through early fall, when weather is warmest and campground amenities such as pools and lakes are open. Late May through early September is peak demand, and holiday weekends around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day sell out first at family parks like Lake Kandle and Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday. Spring and fall are the shoulder seasons. Fall brings cooler nights, foliage color, and lower crowd levels, though pool access typically ends by mid-September. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday accepts stays year-round, and Four Seasons Campgrounds lists its campground as open year-round on its own website. Lake Kandle runs on a shorter May to early October season and is primarily geared toward seasonal campers. Winter travel is possible at year-round parks but expect cold temperatures, occasional snow, and reduced on-site activities. Book earlier for summer weekends and events at nearby stadiums or the convention center.

Campgrounds near Upland are suburban and family oriented rather than remote. Expect level gravel or grass sites, full hookups at many spots, laundry, and clean shower houses. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday sits close to I-295, which means easy access but some road noise, and sites can feel close together. Cell coverage is strong across the region and most parks offer WiFi, though speeds vary. Summer humidity is high and biting insects are common near ponds and wooded sites, so pack accordingly. Traffic into Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and Friday evenings; plan sightseeing trips outside rush hours. Check pet policies before booking, as Lake Kandle does not allow pets while the KOA and Four Seasons Campgrounds do.
