Campgrounds and RV parks near Villanova, PA

Villanova sits on Philadelphia's Main Line in Delaware County, about 12 miles west of Center City. The area is dense suburb, so RV renters typically stage at a private campground within a 30 to 90 minute drive, then use Villanova as a base for day trips into the city, along the Schuylkill River, or out to Pennsylvania Dutch country. Close-in private options are limited. Village Scene Park and Oak Grove Park and Sales offer nearby RV sites. Across the Delaware River in New Jersey, Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday is a full-service option within reach of downtown Philadelphia. Further out, Boulder Woods Campground and Homestead Family Campgrounds give access to quieter, wooded settings north of the city. For a public-land experience, French Creek State Park is about an hour northwest and is the largest campground option in the region, with tent, electric, and full-hookup sites plus cabins, cottages, and yurts. Ridley Creek State Park, just southwest of Villanova, offers organized group tenting only and is not a fit for individual RV stays.

Reservations for Pennsylvania state parks, including French Creek, are handled through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Sites can be booked up to 11 months in advance and must be reserved at least three days ahead of arrival. Peak summer weekends and cabins fill fastest, so aim for three or more months out. Private parks each use their own system. Philadelphia South / Clarksboro KOA Holiday books through the KOA website or app. Boulder Woods Campground, Homestead Family Campgrounds, Village Scene Park, and Oak Grove Park and Sales take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For an RV rental, confirm site length, hookup type (20, 30, or 50 amp, water, sewer), and whether pull-through is available before booking.
