Campgrounds and RV parks near West Lawn, PA

West Lawn is a small borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania, sitting just west of Reading in the rolling farmland and wooded ridges of the Schuylkill Valley. The area works well as an RV base for southeastern Pennsylvania: Hershey, Lancaster County, and the Philadelphia suburbs are all within a short drive, and Blue Marsh Lake and the Appalachian foothills are close by for outdoor time. RV travelers typically choose between private, family-oriented campgrounds and the larger French Creek State Park campground. Nearby private options include Sills Campgrounds, Sun Valley RV Campground, Shady Grove Campground, and the resort-style Adventure Bound Oak Creek (also listed as Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Oak Creek), which lean toward full-hookup sites, pools, and family activities. For a more natural setting, French Creek State Park sits about 20 miles from West Lawn. The 7,730-acre park is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City and offers electric, non-electric, and pet-friendly sites alongside cabins, cottages, and yurts.

For French Creek State Park, reservations go through the Pennsylvania State Parks system online or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. Sites can be reserved up to 11 months in advance and must be booked at least three days ahead of arrival. The main campground opens in early March and closes in early January, while cabins, cottages, and yurts are available year-round. Private campgrounds near West Lawn, including Sills Campgrounds, Sun Valley RV Campground, Shady Grove Campground, and Adventure Bound Oak Creek, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. For holiday weekends and July-August stays, book several months out. Check rig-length limits, hookup type, and pet policies before locking in dates, and confirm check-in windows if arriving after dark.
