My family and I had an amazing experience renting this RV from Tanner and his wife for our camping trip. It honestly felt more like staying in an Airbnb than going camping. The trailer was spotless, everything worked perfectly, and it came fully stocked with all the essentials—from dishes and cookware to garbage bags and other thoughtful extras. Tanner was great to deal with, very responsive, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. We would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable, stress-free camping experience.

This was our first time renting a trailer, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The trailer was in excellent condition, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. It was clear that it had been well maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Luther was fantastic to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions without hesitation. As first-time renters, we had plenty of questions, and he was always patient, helpful, and happy to share his expertise, which made us feel much more confident and comfortable. On RVezy you'll typically find travel trailers from around $100 to $180 CAD per night, campervans from $150 to $250, and larger Class C motorhomes between $200 and $350 per night, with peak rates in July and August. What kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Anmore?

Good news: a regular Class 5 BC driver's licence (or the equivalent from your home province, state, or country) is all you need for the vast majority of RVs on RVezy in Anmore. That covers nearly every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel listed in the area, as long as the trailer is under 4,600 kg and there are no air brakes. Approved renters are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID in the app. Visiting from overseas? An International Driving Permit paired with your home licence works perfectly for your motorhome rental Anmore adventure.

Am I covered if something happens during my Anmore RV trip?

Yes, every booking on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Sea to Sky Highway with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout based on how much extra reassurance you want. It provides meaningful financial protection if the unexpected happens, whether that's a windshield chip on Highway 1 or a fender bump at a tight Buntzen Lake parking stall. Pro tip: review the coverage options carefully before booking so you can pick the level that matches your comfort and budget.

What happens if I need to cancel my RV rental in Anmore?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy applies a standardized cancellation policy across the platform, so it doesn't change from host to host or listing to listing. There's a grace-period window after booking where you can get a full refund, and additional refund tiers depend on how far out from your trip start date you cancel. RVezy also accounts for exceptional situations like natural disasters and major travel disruptions, which matter in BC where wildfire smoke or winter storms can occasionally affect routes like Highway 99. Pro tip: review the full cancellation policy on the RVezy Help Center before booking so you know exactly where you stand.

Can I bring my dog on my Anmore RV trip?

Absolutely, and Anmore is one of the most dog-loving corners of Metro Vancouver. Many hosts on RVezy offer pet-friendly RV rental Anmore listings, and you can filter by Pet-Friendly on the search page to see them instantly. Buntzen Lake has a designated off-leash dog beach and a 600-metre off-leash trail on the southeast side, while nearby Sasamat Lake and the trails through Belcarra Regional Park welcome leashed dogs. Always message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any size or breed preferences. Pro tip: pack a bear bell for forest walks because black bears are common around Anmore, especially in spring and late summer.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Anmore?

Yes, RV delivery in Anmore is one of the most popular add-ons, especially for first-timers who'd rather not drive a 30-foot motorhome through Metro Vancouver traffic. Many hosts will deliver and set up the RV at Anmore Camp & RV Park (right next to Buntzen Lake), Porteau Cove Provincial Park up the Sea to Sky Highway, or even to a private driveway in Anmore, Port Moody, or Coquitlam. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see who offers it, then message the host for a quote since fees are usually based on distance. Pro tip: bundling delivery with setup means you arrive to a fully levelled rig with the awning out and water already hooked up.

How far can I drive from Anmore, and what about mileage limits?

You can comfortably reach incredible destinations on an Anmore RV trip without burning through mileage. Most hosts on RVezy include a daily mileage allowance (often 100 to 200 km per day) and many offer unlimited-mileage upgrades or weekly packages, which is ideal for longer road trips. From Anmore, popular runs include Squamish (about 70 km), Whistler (about 130 km), Cultus Lake (about 110 km), Manning Park (about 220 km), and the BC Ferries terminal at Tsawwassen for Vancouver Island trips (about 60 km). Pro tip: if you're planning an RV road trip from Anmore up the Sea to Sky to Whistler and back, ask the host upfront about an unlimited-mileage package, it usually pays for itself.

Where are the best campgrounds near Anmore?

You're spoiled for choice for RV camping Anmore. The closest is Anmore Camp & RV Park at 3230 Sunnyside Road, right at the entrance to Buntzen Lake with about 100 sites, 30 and 50 amp service, and full hookups. Porteau Cove Provincial Park, a 45-minute drive up Highway 99, has 44 electrified waterfront sites overlooking Howe Sound. Other great options include Burnaby Cariboo RV Park (about 25 minutes away with a pool and full hookups), Dogwood Campground & RV Park in Surrey, and Golden Ears Provincial Park in Maple Ridge for a more forested experience. Pro tip: Porteau Cove is 100% reservable through camping.bcparks.ca and waterfront sites release at 7 a.m. exactly four months ahead, so set an alarm.
bcparks.ca/porteau-cove-park/

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Anmore?

Anmore shines from late May through early October, when daytime highs sit between 18 and 26 C and rainfall drops dramatically. July and August are warmest and busiest (Buntzen Lake's parking pass system fills up within minutes), so many locals prefer the late-June and September shoulder weeks for quieter trails and easier campground bookings. Spring (April to mid-May) brings blooming forests and excellent eagle viewing near Squamish, while fall offers fiery maple colour along the Buntzen Lake Loop. Winter RV trips are absolutely doable thanks to Anmore Camp & RV Park staying open year-round. Pro tip: if you want a parking pass for Buntzen Lake, they open one day in advance at 7 a.m. on the BC Hydro website.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I actually know what to do?

Yes, RVezy is built for first time renting an RV, and Anmore hosts are some of the friendliest you'll meet. Every booking includes a hands-on walkthrough at pickup where your host shows you how to operate the awning, generator, water hookups, propane, slide-outs, and the toilet system, plus where the breakers and tank valves are. You can message your host with questions before booking, during the trip, and after. RVezy customer support and 24/7 roadside assistance are also a tap away. Pro tip: ask your host to record a short video of the dump and fill process on your phone, you'll thank yourself at the Anmore Camp & RV Park sani-station.

What if the RV breaks down on my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're at Porteau Cove, parked at Whistler, or stuck on the shoulder of Highway 99. Roadside support covers things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app, since they know their RV best and can often walk you through quick fixes. Pro tip: take a photo of the RV's VIN and licence plate at pickup and keep your host's number saved, it speeds things up if you ever need to call for help.

Can I cross the US border or travel into Alberta in my Anmore RV rental?

Cross-border travel is often allowed, but it depends on the host and the protection plan, so always confirm before booking. Many Anmore hosts welcome trips into Washington State (the Peace Arch crossing is about 50 km south) and east into Alberta for Banff or Jasper, and RVezy's protection plan extends to the US when approved. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage doesn't extend that far south. Message the host directly from the listing to confirm border travel and ask about a vehicle authorization letter, which Canadian Customs may ask for on re-entry. Pro tip: pack passports for every traveller, an Enhanced Driver's Licence or NEXUS card speeds up land border crossings.

How much should I budget for fuel on an Anmore RV trip?

Fuel is one of the bigger variables, but easy to plan for. Most Class B campervans get 18 to 24 mpg (10 to 13 L/100 km), Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg (17 to 24 L/100 km), and Class A diesels are similar. Metro Vancouver gas prices are typically among the highest in Canada, often $1.80 to $2.00+ per litre, so many renters fill up in Coquitlam or Port Moody before heading out, or in Squamish where prices can be slightly lower. For a 3-night Anmore-to-Whistler round trip in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $250 in fuel. Pro tip: the GasBuddy app shows real-time prices across the Lower Mainland, handy on the drive up Highway 99.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Anmore?

For the most popular spots, the earlier the better. BC Parks releases reservations through camping.bcparks.ca on a rolling four-month window at 7 a.m. Pacific, and waterfront sites at Porteau Cove typically sell out within minutes for summer weekends. Anmore Camp & RV Park (right at Buntzen Lake) takes reservations directly through their website and fills up months ahead for July and August. Golden Ears and Alice Lake provincial parks follow the same BC Parks system. Pro tip: if a date you want is sold out, services like Campnab will text you the moment a cancellation opens, which is genuinely how most locals snag last-minute Porteau Cove waterfront sites.

What are local driving conditions like around Anmore?

Driving an RV in Anmore is very manageable once you know the local quirks. Sunnyside Road and East Road, the two main routes through the village, are paved and well maintained, but they're winding with some steeper grades, so take it slow and use lower gears on descents. Metro Vancouver traffic peaks weekday mornings (7 to 9 a.m.) and afternoons (3 to 6 p.m.), so aim for midday departures. Highway 99 to Whistler is gorgeous but has tight curves, frequent rockfall warnings, and one-lane construction zones, with chains or winter tires required October 1 to April 30. Pro tip: avoid driving in or out of Buntzen Lake parking on summer weekends after 9:30 a.m., the gate often closes when the lot fills.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Anmore?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped. Anmore Camp & RV Park offers 30 and 50 amp service, full hookups (water, power, sewer), a sani-station, laundry, washrooms with showers, a recreation room, and a sports court. Porteau Cove Provincial Park has 44 electrified sites, flush toilets, hot showers, a sani-station ($5 per discharge), and an outdoor kitchen, though water lines are shut off at Buntzen Lake-area facilities in winter to prevent freezing. Most Metro Vancouver private RV parks like Burnaby Cariboo offer Wi-Fi, pools, and full hookups. Pro tip: if you're winter camping at Porteau Cove, fill your fresh-water tank before arrival because the campground sani-station and washroom services are reduced from mid-November through February.
bcparks.ca/porteau-cove-park/

What's actually inside the RVs available to rent in Anmore?

More than you'd expect. Most RVs available to rent an RV in Anmore come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, additional bunks or convertible dinettes, a kitchen with fridge, stovetop, microwave, and sink, an indoor bathroom with toilet and shower, a furnace, air conditioning, and a propane water heater. Many also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor speakers, an awning with LED lights, a generator or solar setup, and seatbelts for travel passengers. Campervan rental Anmore listings are more compact but still pack a bed, kitchenette, and often a portable toilet. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm Wi-Fi or hotspot options, cell coverage drops on parts of the Sea to Sky and around Buntzen Lake.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts on RVezy offer a great mix of add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include bedding and linen packages ($40 to $75), kitchen kits, camp chairs and tables, BBQs, bike racks, generator use, propane fills, and pet packages. Many hosts in the Anmore, Port Moody, and Coquitlam area offer delivery to local campgrounds like Anmore Camp & RV Park or Porteau Cove for a flat fee based on distance. Mileage policies vary: most include 100 to 200 km per day, with overage at $0.30 to $0.50 per km, and unlimited mileage upgrades available on request. Pro tip: ask about a late-return or early-pickup window, hosts are often flexible if you message a few days ahead.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure through the RVezy platform, no cash or e-transfers to the host. You'll pay your rental total (plus taxes and any add-ons) when you book, with the security deposit pre-authorized on your credit card a few days before pickup. The deposit is held, not charged, and the amount is set by the host and shown before you book, typically ranging from $500 to $1,500 CAD depending on the RV. It's released back to your card within a few days after drop-off, assuming no damage or missed fees. Pro tip: do a thorough walkaround video with your host at both pickup and return for your Anmore RV trip, it protects everyone and makes deposit refunds smooth and fast.

Can I rent an RV in Anmore in the winter, and is it actually comfortable?

Yes, and winter is a hidden gem for an Anmore RV trip. Anmore Camp & RV Park stays open year-round with winter RV camping, and Porteau Cove Provincial Park keeps its campground accessible from mid-November through February at reduced rates. Many RVs on RVezy are four-season ready with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, propane furnaces, and shore-power hookups so you can run an electric heater alongside the furnace. Whistler-Blackcomb is just over an hour away, making winter RV camping near Anmore an affordable basecamp for skiing or snowboarding. Pro tip: ask the host specifically about heated tanks and skirting, and pack a heated mattress pad, it makes a huge difference on those cold Howe Sound nights.
