Steven was wonderful to rent from. He was very helpful as I'm new to rv's. When a problem did happen he was quick to respond and come fix the problem. The trailer was very clean and tidy. The first night I saw a family of deer right outside the window. I truly did want to leave. Can't wait to rent again!

I’m 71 years old and this was my first camping road trip with my equally old dog! Fares is an amazingly helpful and experienced host - He was always quick to respond to any communication/questions I had from the time I made my booking until after I had returned the camper. The vehicle was clean and well serviced/ supplied with equipment I might need. Couldn’t have asked for more! Huge Thanks Fares and Rvezy

help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included when I rent an RV in Comox Valley?
Every RVezy booking in Comox Valley automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 19A toward Campbell River or Highway 19 toward Nanaimo with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip, and you can choose your preferred coverage level during checkout. It's not traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens. Pro tip: take a quick walk-around video at pickup and drop-off, it's a five-minute habit that keeps everything smooth and gets you on the road to Miracle Beach faster.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Comox Valley RV rental?
Booking is low-risk. RVezy applies a standardized cancellation policy (not set by individual hosts), and refund amounts depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your pickup date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy will help with a refund or rebooking credit. To cancel, open your booking in your RVezy account and follow the cancellation steps, support is available to help. Pro tip: book early for July and August (the busiest weeks around Nautical Days in Comox), and review the cancellation policy on your booking confirmation so you know exactly where you stand if plans shift.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Comox Valley RV trip?
Absolutely, and you're in one of BC's most dog-loving regions. Plenty of pet-friendly RV rental Comox Valley options are available on RVezy, just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search. Once you're rolling, Goose Spit Park in Comox is a local favourite for off-leash beach time, and dog parks in Courtenay (Bill Moore Park) and along the Airpark Trail are easy stops. Many campgrounds, including Miracle Beach Provincial Park, welcome leashed pets. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and any size limits, most hosts are flexible and appreciate the heads-up.
bcparks.ca/visit-a-park/pets-in-parks/Can the RV be delivered to my campsite or vacation rental in Comox Valley?
Yes, RV delivery in Comox Valley is one of the smartest moves for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts in the Comox Valley area will drive the motorhome or trailer directly to your campsite (popular drop-offs include Miracle Beach Provincial Park, Kin Beach, and Kitty Coleman Beach Regional Park), level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system. That means zero towing stress and no learning curve on tight rural roads. Filter listings by Delivery to see hosts who offer it, then message them with your dates and destination. Pro tip: ask about delivery to the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) if you're flying in, it's a popular request.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Comox%20Valley%2C%20British%20ColumbiaHow far can I drive on a Comox Valley RV trip and what about mileage limits?
You can cover serious ground from Comox Valley. Tofino is about 215 km west (around 3.5 hours via Highway 19 and Highway 4), Victoria is about 220 km south (roughly 3 hours down the Inland Island Highway), and Telegraph Cove for whale watching sits about 230 km north. Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, some offer generous daily allowances and others provide RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is ideal if you're planning a full Vancouver Island loop. The included kilometres and per-km overage rate are listed clearly on every listing. Pro tip: map your route before booking and message the host with your total estimated kilometres, many will bundle extra kms into the booking at a better rate.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Comox%20Valley%2C%20British%20ColumbiaWhere are the best campgrounds near Comox Valley for an RV stay?
You're spoiled for choice. Miracle Beach Provincial Park (about 20 minutes north of Comox) is the classic pick with a long sandy beach and tide pools the kids will love. Kitty Coleman Beach Regional Park offers oceanfront sites just 15 minutes from Comox. Slightly further afield, Living Forest Oceanside Campground in Nanaimo and Elk Falls Provincial Park near Campbell River are excellent for longer loops. Pro tip: BC Parks sites book through the Discover Camping reservation system and open four months in advance at 7 a.m. PT, set a calendar reminder for the most popular July weekends.
bcparks.ca/reservations/When is the best time of year for RV camping in Comox Valley?
The sweet spot is late June through mid-September, when daytime highs sit comfortably between 20 and 25°C and rainfall drops dramatically, perfect for beach days at Goose Spit and hikes around Mount Becher. May and early June are gorgeous shoulder-season picks: wildflowers, fewer crowds, and lower nightly rates. Fall (September to October) brings 15 to 19°C days and stunning colour around Cumberland's forests. Winter is mild at sea level (typically 2 to 8°C) but wet, and Mount Washington Alpine Resort, about 45 minutes from Comox, opens for skiing in December. Pro tip: aim for the last two weeks of August for the warmest ocean swimming and the driest weather of the year.
climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_normals/I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay on Vancouver Island roads?
You'll do great, and first time renting an RV in Comox Valley is honestly one of the easier places to start. Highway 19 (the Inland Island Highway) is wide, well-maintained, and lightly trafficked compared to mainland BC routes. Your host gives you a full orientation at pickup covering levelling, propane, water, slide-outs, and dump procedures, and you can text or call them throughout your trip. Choosing a Class B campervan or a smaller travel trailer makes parking and turning even simpler. Pro tip: practise backing into a spot in a quiet parking lot before heading to your campground, fifteen minutes of practice and you'll feel like a pro by dinnertime.
www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/transportation/driving-and-cyclingWhat happens if I have a breakdown or issue on my Comox Valley RV trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you've got a flat tire on Highway 19 near Black Creek or a battery issue at Miracle Beach, one phone call gets help dispatched. The roadside team handles tows, lockouts, jump-starts, fuel delivery, and tire changes. Your host is also reachable for RV-specific questions (think: the awning won't retract or the fridge isn't cooling), and RVezy customer support is available throughout your booking. Pro tip: save the roadside number to your phone before pulling out of the driveway, and keep the host's number pinned in messages, you'll likely never need them, but it feels great knowing they're there.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Comox Valley RV rental on a road trip across BC or into the US?
A Vancouver Island and BC mainland RV road trip from Comox Valley is absolutely on the table. Popular loops include the ferry to Powell River and up the Sunshine Coast, or south to Victoria and over to the Lower Mainland via the Tsawwassen ferry. Cross-border travel into the US may be allowed depending on the host and their coverage, so message them directly before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: BC Ferries accepts RV reservations and they're essential in summer, book your Comox to Powell River or Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay sailing the moment your dates are confirmed.
bcferries.com/What kind of fuel mileage should I expect and how much will gas cost?
Realistic numbers help you budget. Class B campervans on Vancouver Island typically get 18 to 22 mpg (about 11 to 13 L/100km), Class C motorhomes average 10 to 14 mpg (17 to 23 L/100km), and trucks towing travel trailers land around 12 to 15 mpg. Gas prices in the Comox Valley generally run close to the BC average and are usually a few cents below Victoria. The closest fuel stops are in Comox and Courtenay (Petro-Canada, Co-op, and Chevron). Pro tip: fill up in Courtenay before heading to Tofino, the stretch through Port Alberni and along Highway 4 has fewer stations and slightly higher prices.
www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/natural-gas-oil/petroleum-pricingHow far in advance should I book campgrounds in the Comox Valley?
For peak summer (July and August), book the moment the window opens. BC Parks releases reservations four months ahead through the Discover Camping system at 7:00 a.m. Pacific, and prime spots at Miracle Beach Provincial Park can fill within minutes. Regional parks like Kitty Coleman Beach also book up fast on summer weekends. For private RV parks, four to eight weeks ahead is usually safe. Shoulder season (May, September, October) you can often book one to two weeks out and still find oceanfront sites. Pro tip: if you miss Miracle Beach, check the system again two to three days before your trip, cancellations are common.
bcparks.ca/reservations/What are driving conditions like around the Comox Valley?
Driving here is refreshingly relaxed. The roads around Comox and Courtenay are quiet, flat, and rural, and Highway 19 (the main north-south route on Vancouver Island) is a divided four-lane highway with generous shoulders. Watch for two specific things: deer (especially at dawn and dusk on rural roads), and winter conditions on the route up to Mount Washington (winter tires or chains are required from October 1 to April 30 on most BC mountain highways). Coastal fog can roll in along Point Holmes in early morning. Pro tip: check DriveBC before any travel day, it gives real-time updates on ferry waits, road closures, and conditions across the island.
drivebc.ca/What amenities do campgrounds near Comox Valley offer for RVs?
Expect a mix. Private RV parks in Courtenay and the surrounding area often offer full hookups (30-amp power, water, sewer), Wi-Fi, and laundry. BC Parks sites such as Miracle Beach are more rustic with potable water taps, flush toilets, and no individual hookups, perfect if your rental has a decent battery and fresh water tank. Sani-dump stations are available at Miracle Beach Provincial Park and at the Comox Valley Waste Management Centre. Potable water fill-ups are easy at most campgrounds. Pro tip: ask your host to top up fresh water and empty the tanks before pickup, you'll get an extra day or two of off-grid time before needing a service stop.
bcparks.ca/visit-a-park/services-facilities/What's included inside the RV when I rent in Comox Valley?
Most motorhome rentals in Comox Valley come ready to camp. Expect a real bed (queen is standard, many sleep 4 to 8), a kitchen with a propane stove, fridge, microwave, sink and basic cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, a furnace, and seatbelts for every travelling passenger. Larger Class A and C units usually include a TV, awning, and sometimes a generator. Many hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, Bluetooth stereo, and outdoor speakers. Solar panels are increasingly common on Vancouver Island rentals, which is great for boondocking. Pro tip: each RVezy listing has a full amenities checklist, filter by what matters to you (pets, generator, slide-out, sleeps 6+) before you start messaging hosts.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Comox%20Valley%2C%20British%20ColumbiaWhat add-ons and options can I get with my Comox Valley RV rental?
Lots of helpful extras are available. Common Comox Valley add-ons include bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs and tables, BBQs, generators, bike racks, kayak racks, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Pickup and drop-off is usually at the host's location in Comox or Courtenay, but many hosts offer delivery to your campsite, YQQ airport, or BC Ferries terminals for a flat fee. Mileage policies vary, some include 100 to 200 km per day, others offer unlimited. Pro tip: bundle delivery, linens, and a propane fill at booking, it's almost always cheaper than adding extras after pickup, and your host can have everything ready when you arrive.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Comox%20Valley%2C%20British%20ColumbiaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book your RV rental in Comox Valley, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card, never directly to the host. A security deposit is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released after your trip, assuming no damage or excessive cleaning. The deposit amount is shown clearly on every listing before you book and is separate from your booking payment. Pro tip: do a thorough walk-around video at pickup and drop-off (5 minutes, every angle, plus interior), it's the single best way to ensure your full deposit comes back fast and avoids any disputes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent an RV in winter in the Comox Valley?
Yes, and winter is a hidden gem here. Comox sits at sea level with mild winter temperatures (typically 2 to 8°C), so RVing is genuinely comfortable, and you're about 45 minutes from Mount Washington Alpine Resort for skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing. Look for RVezy listings that mention four-season use, heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, and a reliable furnace, message the host to confirm if you're unsure. Many hosts offer shore-power-friendly setups for staying at full-hookup parks year-round. Pro tip: a winter RV trip from Comox up to Mount Washington for a couple of ski days is the kind of getaway locals do every February.
