We had the best time in Whitney’s trailer. Everything was set up for us and all of the extras were greatly appreciated (hammock chairs, yard games, outdoor mat, solar lights, etc). She went above and beyond to make the place cozy and we had everything we needed and more. Her daughter Everlee was so sweet showing our daughters around getting them excited for their weekend. The kids slept great in the bunks and our queen bed was SO comfortable. Whitney was very accommodating and great with communication throughout planning our rental and while we were there. I HIGHLY recommend booking this trailer. You will not be disappointed!!!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Greenwood, BC

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Greenwood, BC?

RV rental in Greenwood, BC is genuinely affordable compared to bigger Okanagan hubs like Kelowna. Travel trailers typically run $100 to $175 per night, while motorhome rentals in Greenwood average around $200 to $300 per night, with many hosts offering weekly or monthly discounts. To score a cheap RV rental in Greenwood, book midweek, travel in shoulder season (May or September), and use the price filter on RVezy to sort listings. Good news: a regular Class 5 driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Greenwood, BC, even for a large Class A motorhome or fifth wheel. Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a grace period right after you book so you can lock in your Greenwood dates without stress. Pro tip: book early for the Founders Day weekend in July, knowing the policy is transparent and consistent across all RVezy listings.

Greenwood is tiny but the camping scene punches above its weight. The best campgrounds near Greenwood include Greenwood City Campground on Boundary Creek (16 sites, walking distance to downtown and the historic smelter ruins), Boundary Creek Provincial Park (right on Highway 3 with shady creekside sites), Jewel Lake Provincial Park (27 lakeside sites with great trout fishing), and Kettle River Recreation Area near Rock Creek (87 sites along the river with sandy swimming spots). When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Greenwood?

Greenwood sits in a sunny pocket of the Boundary Country with one of BC's driest, sunniest climates, so your RV camping in Greenwood window is wider than most BC towns. Prime season is late June through early September, when daytime highs run a comfortable 26 to 33°C and July averages over 13 hours of sunshine a day. May and late September are the smart-money shoulder seasons: temperatures in the high teens to mid-20s, fewer bugs, and easier campground bookings. Winter (mid-November through February) brings snow and lows around minus 10°C, but a handful of hosts rent winter-ready rigs for Phoenix Mountain skiers. Pro tip: aim for the second week of July if you want the famous Boundary heat at its best.

I've never rented an RV before, will I be okay driving around Greenwood?

You'll do great, first time renting an RV in Greenwood is genuinely beginner-friendly. Your host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, slide-outs, dumping, levelling, and the dash, and you can text them anytime during your trip. Highway 3 (the Crowsnest) through Greenwood is a paved two-lane with wide shoulders and very light traffic compared to the Coquihalla or Sea-to-Sky. The main thing to know is the climb over Anarchist Summit (1,233 m) east of Osoyoos, just take it slow in a lower gear. Pro tip: pick a smaller Class C or campervan rental in Greenwood for your first trip, they handle like an oversized pickup.

What happens if something breaks down during my Greenwood RV trip?

You are not on your own: every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, with help available across the Boundary and Kootenay regions. One call gets you a tow, tire change, battery boost, fuel delivery, or lockout help, even on remote stretches of Highway 3 between Greenwood and Castlegar where cell service can be patchy. Your host is also your first line of friendly support for quirks like a finicky water pump or awning. Pro tip: screenshot the RVezy support number and your host's contact before you leave town; cell coverage drops in Gladstone Provincial Park and around Christina Lake's back roads.

Can I take my Greenwood RV rental across the border into the US?

Often yes, an RV road trip from Greenwood into Washington State is a popular option since the Midway border crossing is just 13 km west of town and Carson/Danville crossings are also nearby. Cross-border travel depends on the host's insurance, so message them through the listing before booking to confirm US travel is approved and ask for any documentation you'll need. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Don't even think about it for a Greenwood trip anyway, the drive is huge. Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle ownership paperwork from the host, and declare any wine you're hauling back from Oroville at customs.

Budget around $80 to $120 in fuel per travel day for a motorhome. Pro tip: top up in Greenwood or Grand Forks before heading into the Monashee Mountains, the next reliable stations are 90+ km away.

The notable stretches are Anarchist Summit (1,233 m) west toward Osoyoos and Eholt Summit (1,143 m) east toward Grand Forks, both gentle by mountain standards but worth taking slow in an RV. Watch for deer, bighorn sheep, and logging trucks. From October 1 to April 30 winter tires or chains are legally required on most BC mountain highways including Highway 3. Pro tip: check DriveBC for live cameras at Paulson and Anarchist before you roll out, conditions can flip in shoulder season.

Free dump and fill stations are available at Grand Forks and Greenwood.
