As first-time RV renters, we weren't sure what to expect, but this experience exceeded our expectations! The RV was spotless, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed to feel comfortable on our trip. Jenni and her husband were incredibly friendly, patient, and took the time to walk us through how everything worked, making us feel confident before hitting the road. Pulling and setting up the RV was much easier than we imagined thanks to the clear instructions and support we received. Everything functioned perfectly throughout our trip, and it truly felt like a home away from home. If you're thinking about renting an RV for the first time, this is the perfect one to start with. We had an amazing adventure, created unforgettable memories, and can't wait to plan our next RV trip. We would absolutely rent this RV again and highly recommend it to anyone—especially fellow beginners.

This was our first time renting an RV. Eloy was thorough with his instructions on how to care for the RV upon pickup. This was much appreciated and helpful. He was extremely responsive throughout the process. The RV was immaculate inside and newly washed on the outside. The RV ran well and the trip was smooth. We could not have asked for a better experience! We look forward to using Adventure 48 again!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Camp Verde, AZ
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Camp Verde, AZ?
RV rental in Camp Verde offers strong value in the Verde Valley, often pricing below nearby Sedona and Flagstaff. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $95 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes run roughly $175 to $275 per night, and campervans land in the $125 to $200 range, depending on age, size, and amenities. Booking midweek and outside the spring and fall red-rock peak is the easiest way to find a cheap RV rental in Camp Verde. Tip: filter for Instant Book and bundle a Sunday-through-Thursday stay at Verde Ranch RV Resort to save on both the rig and the site.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camp%20Verde%2C%20ArizonaDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Camp Verde, Arizona?
Arizona does not require a special license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for any RV you'll find on RVezy. Your regular Class D driver's license covers Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels, since they all fall well under the 26,000-pound federal threshold. To rent an RV in Camp Verde you generally need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and you'll confirm your ID right through the RVezy platform. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home-country license, then you're cleared to point the rig toward Sedona's red rocks.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection and roadside assistance comes with my Camp Verde RV rental?
Every RV rental in Camp Verde booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can roll down I-17 toward Sedona knowing help is one call away. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV (it isn't traditional auto insurance, but it provides real financial peace of mind), and you choose the coverage level that fits your trip during checkout, not the host. Roadside assistance handles flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, and towing. With Cottonwood, Cliff Castle Casino, and Flagstaff all within an hour, you're never far from service if you need it.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Camp Verde RV trip?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book, so you're not locked in the moment you confirm. If a wildfire closure on the Coconino National Forest, a winter storm over the Mogollon Rim, or a family emergency forces a change, the policy also factors in how far out from your trip you are. Reach out to RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options. Tip: message the host early if plans shift, since many are happy to help you reschedule for another Verde Valley weekend.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Camp Verde?
Yes, Camp Verde is one of the most dog-welcoming RV towns in Arizona. On RVezy, use the Pet-Friendly filter to find pet-friendly RV rental Camp Verde options, from travel trailers to Class Cs. Dead Horse Ranch State Park (about 15 minutes north in Cottonwood) allows leashed pets on trails and at most campsites, and Verde Ranch RV Resort has a dedicated dog area. The Verde River Greenway is a shady riparian trail your pup will love on a warm afternoon. Tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee, and ask about a furniture-friendly setup if your dog likes the couch.
azstateparks.com/dead-horseCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Camp Verde?
Yes, RV delivery in Camp Verde is a popular add-on and a real game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many hosts will deliver and set up your rig directly at Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Verde Ranch RV Resort, Distant Drums RV Resort, or even a private property along the Verde River. They'll level it, hook up water, sewer, and 30/50-amp power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to find hosts who offer it, then message to confirm the campground and fee (often a flat rate plus mileage). It's the easiest way to start your Camp Verde RV trip stress-free.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camp%20Verde%2C%20ArizonaHow far can I drive from Camp Verde, and what's the mileage policy?
Camp Verde is an ideal Verde Valley basecamp, and most hosts on RVezy offer generous daily mileage allowances (typically 100 to 150 miles per day), with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer stays. From Camp Verde you're about 25 miles to Sedona, 50 miles to Flagstaff, 90 miles to Grand Canyon's South Rim, 95 miles to Phoenix, and roughly 100 miles to Prescott. Each additional mile beyond the included allowance usually runs $0.35 to $0.50, set by the host. Tip: if you're planning a big Grand Canyon loop, message the host before booking and ask about a bundled mileage package, many will discount it upfront.
nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhere should I stay with my RV near Camp Verde?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Camp Verde include Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood (over 100 sites along the Verde River with water and electric, reservable up to 12 months ahead at azstateparks.com), Verde Ranch RV Resort (a large luxury full-hookup resort with pools and hot tubs), Distant Drums RV Resort next to Cliff Castle Casino, and Verde River RV Resort & Cottages right on the river. For dispersed RV camping Camp Verde style, the Coconino National Forest has free sites along forest roads east of town. Book Dead Horse early for spring and fall, it sells out.
azstateparks.com/dead-horse/camping-and-cabins/camping-at-dead-horse-ranchWhen is the best time to rent an RV in Camp Verde, AZ?
The sweet spot for RV camping Camp Verde is mid-February through May and again from mid-September through November, when daytime highs typically sit in the 65°F to 86°F range and nights are crisp but not freezing. Camp Verde's roughly 3,160-foot elevation keeps it noticeably cooler than Phoenix, so spring wildflowers and fall cottonwoods along the Verde River are spectacular. Summer (June to August) brings highs near 100°F and the North American Monsoon, with dramatic late-afternoon thunderstorms from July into early September. Winter is mild with occasional light snow. Tip: book early for the Pecan, Wine & Antique Festival in spring or the Camp Verde Corn Festival in summer, both local favorites.
weather.gov/fgz/I've never driven an RV before, will I be okay in Camp Verde?
You'll be just fine, and Camp Verde is actually one of the friendliest places in Arizona to learn. Roads are wide, traffic is light, and I-17 has long straight stretches before you hit Sedona's curves. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering propane, water, slide-outs, generator, and driving tips for the specific rig. You can also message the host with questions before booking. If you'd rather skip driving entirely, choose a host who delivers and sets up at your campground. Tip for first time renting an RV: take SR-260 from Camp Verde to Cottonwood for an easy practice drive before tackling the climb up to Flagstaff on I-17.
azdot.gov/adot-blog/safe-driving-around-rvs-tips-everyoneWhat happens if something goes wrong on the road?
You're never alone out there. Every RV rental in Camp Verde booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on SR-260, a dead battery at Beaver Creek, or a lockout at the Montezuma Castle parking lot is just a phone call away. Roadside covers towing, jump-starts, tire changes, lockouts, and fuel delivery. For mechanical questions, your host is your first call, they know their RV better than anyone. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip if you need a hand. Tip: snap a photo of the rig's VIN and the roadside number before you leave the host's driveway in case cell signal drops in Sycamore Canyon.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Camp Verde RV rental into other states or across the border?
Yes, an RV road trip from Camp Verde easily stretches into Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, and California, with popular routes including the Grand Circle loop (Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef) and a Vegas-via-Hoover-Dam swing. Most RVezy hosts welcome interstate travel; just confirm in your booking message so they can note it. Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage stop at the border. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the protection plan selected, so message the host before booking if that's your dream trip. Tip: from Camp Verde, the Grand Canyon's South Rim is a doable 2-hour drive each way.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat's the fuel budget for an RV trip from Camp Verde?
Arizona gas prices typically run a bit above the national average, so it pays to plan. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A coaches 6 to 10 MPG. For a typical 4-day Camp Verde RV trip looping to Sedona, Jerome, and back (about 200 miles), budget roughly $80 to $150 in fuel for a Class C, depending on current pump prices. Tip: fill up at the Pilot Travel Center off I-17 near Camp Verde or in Cottonwood, prices there are usually a notch cheaper than Sedona's stations. Check AAA's daily averages before you roll for the most current numbers.
gasprices.aaa.com/?state=AZHow far in advance should I book a campground near Camp Verde?
For peak spring (March to May) and fall (October to November), book Dead Horse Ranch State Park 4 to 6 months ahead, the system opens reservations up to 12 months in advance through azstateparks.com, and the popular loops sell out fast. Verde Ranch RV Resort and Distant Drums book through their own websites and usually have more last-minute availability. For summer and winter, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is typically fine. Coconino National Forest campgrounds like Beaver Creek go through Recreation.gov up to 6 months ahead. Tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday to Wednesday) almost always have openings, even during red-rock peak season.
azstateparks.com/reserveWhat are driving conditions like around Camp Verde?
Camp Verde driving is mostly easy: I-17 runs straight through town, SR-260 heads east toward Payson, and SR-89A climbs gorgeously up to Sedona and Jerome. Watch two things: monsoon afternoons (July to early September) can bring sudden downpours and brief flash flooding in washes, so pull over and wait it out. The climb up I-17 from Camp Verde to Flagstaff gains roughly 4,000 feet, so plan extra time in a larger rig and use lower gears on the descent. SR-89A's switchbacks above Jerome are tight, fine for travel trailers and Class Cs but slow going. Tip: skip 89A through Oak Creek Canyon in a 30+ foot rig and take I-17 to Flagstaff instead.
az511.gov/What hookups and amenities will I find at Camp Verde campgrounds?
Most developed RV parks in Camp Verde offer full hookups, meaning 30/50-amp electric, fresh water, and sewer right at your site. Verde Ranch RV Resort, Distant Drums, and Verde River RV Resort all have full hookups plus pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Dead Horse Ranch State Park sites come with water and electric (no sewer at the site), but there's a dump station and potable water fill near the entrance. For free dispersed RV camping in the Coconino National Forest, you'll be fully off-grid with no hookups, so fill your fresh tank before heading out. Tip: Cliff Castle Casino has offered free overnight RV parking for players-club members in the past, no hookups, perfect for a one-night stopover, call ahead to confirm current policy.
azstateparks.com/dead-horse/camping-and-cabins/camping-at-dead-horse-ranchWhat's inside a typical Camp Verde RV rental?
You'll feel right at home. A typical motorhome rental Camp Verde travelers book includes a queen or king bed, a convertible dinette or bunk for extra sleepers, a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with AC and furnace, and seatbelted seating for travel. Most Class Cs sleep 4 to 6 comfortably; larger Class As and bunkhouse travel trailers sleep up to 8 to 10. Many rigs include a generator (handy for off-grid stays near Sycamore Canyon), a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and outdoor camp chairs. Some hosts add Starlink or mobile Wi-Fi as an add-on. Tip: filter by sleeps count on RVezy to match the rig to your group exactly.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camp%20Verde%2C%20ArizonaWhat add-ons and pickup logistics should I expect for my Camp Verde RV rental?
Hosts in Camp Verde offer a great menu of add-ons: linens and kitchen kits, camp chairs and tables, bikes, kayaks for the Verde River, generators, propane fire pits, and Wi-Fi hotspots, each priced individually on the listing. Pickup is usually at the host's home, often in Camp Verde, Cottonwood, or Lake Montezuma, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough. Drop-off mirrors pickup unless you've arranged delivery. Mileage policies are set by each host (typically 100 to 150 free miles per day; some offer unlimited for week-plus rentals). Tip: ask about a generator add-on if you're heading to dispersed sites near Fossil Creek, you'll want it for AC on warm nights.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camp%20Verde%2C%20ArizonaHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy at booking using a credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV's value), and it's released back to you after a clean return with no damage or excess mileage. To avoid surprises on your rent an RV in Camp Verde booking, take date-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at pickup and drop-off, return with the same fuel and propane level, and dump the tanks (or pay the optional dump fee upfront). Tip: message the host the morning of pickup to confirm timing and any last-minute add-ons.
