2022 Thor Motor Coach Class B
Absolutely enjoyed our first experience in a Class B RV. Host were fantastic! They were kindly accommodating for the changes we made to our reservation. The Thor is small but well laid out. The host provided everything needed (towels, wash clothes, plates, bowls, fry pan, toiletries, etc etc). Basically, load your clothes and groceries and hit the road. We traveled just over 2500 miles. The van handled well and was an ease to maneuver. Cruise control was great. We were able to pull into a regular parking spot and nap, eat, or fix a cup of coffee. We boondocked the entire trip. The generator ran well when needed and was quiet. The onboard batteries stayed charged and kept the refrigerator nice and cold. The cassette toilet was easy to deal with. The bed set up was simple and surprisingly comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed using this Class B and look forward to our next adventure. Highly recommend this host!

This was my first time renting a trailer and what a great experience! Adam was a super host, he had the trailer ready to go for us in time! He showed us all the details of the trailer, trailer was very clean and was full of fresh water when we arrived. He even had the refrigerator on and cooled down before our arrival. Adam was a pleasure to do business with and we will absolutely recommend him to our friends and family!!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Quartzsite?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Quartzsite, even for big Class A motorhomes. Arizona does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every rig on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older and complete a quick ID verification through the RVezy platform when you book. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country's license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP), available from your local auto club. That's it, you're ready to hit Interstate 10 and explore the Sonoran Desert.

Where should I stay with my RV in Quartzsite?

Quartzsite is RV heaven, with options for every style. La Posa Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA), run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), offers full-season permits for cheap dry camping just south of town. For free 14-day dispersed camping, try Hi Jolly, Scaddan Wash, Roadrunner, or Plomosa Road BLM areas. If you want hookups, Holiday Palms RV Park, La Posada RV Resort, and 88 Shades RV Park all offer full amenities and pools. Some of the best campgrounds near Quartzsite fill up fast in January, so book hookup sites 2 to 3 months ahead. Pro tip: dispersed BLM sites are first-come, first-served and arriving on a weekday lands the best spots.

When is the best time to visit Quartzsite in an RV?

November through March is prime time for RV camping in Quartzsite, with daytime highs in the 65 to 78°F range and crisp, starry desert nights dipping to 40 to 50°F, ideal weather for hiking, rockhounding, and campfires. January is legendary thanks to the Quartzsite Sports, Vacation & RV Show and the Tyson Wells Rock & Gem Show, when the town transforms into the world's biggest RV gathering. Summer (June through August) regularly tops 110°F and most snowbird businesses close, so it's best avoided. Pro tip: late February delivers the same gorgeous weather as January with smaller crowds, a smart-money move for a relaxed Quartzsite RV trip.

I've never rented an RV before, is Quartzsite a good place to start?

Quartzsite is genuinely one of the easiest places in America for a first time renting an RV. The terrain is flat, traffic is light outside January, and Interstate 10 runs straight through town with wide shoulders and easy pull-offs. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering the generator, water systems, slides, and dump procedures, so you'll leave knowing exactly how everything works. Combine that with delivery (many hosts will set the rig up for you at a BLM site) and the included 24/7 roadside assistance, and the learning curve almost disappears. Pro tip: book at least 3 nights so you have time to relax into RV life before exploring.

What happens if I have a breakdown or issue in the Quartzsite desert?

You're never on your own, every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering services like flat tire help, jump starts, lockouts, and towing. Quartzsite has multiple local mobile RV techs and a Pilot/Flying J truck stop right off Interstate 10 for fuel, propane, and emergency supplies. Cell coverage from Verizon and AT&T is solid in town and along I-10, though it can drop in deeper BLM areas like Plomosa Road. RVezy customer support is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: download offline Google Maps of the Quartzsite area before heading into dispersed camping so navigation works even without signal.

Can I take my Quartzsite RV rental into California or Mexico?

California is wide open, you can drive your Quartzsite RV rental across the state line for an RV road trip from Quartzsite to Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, or even San Diego, and most hosts welcome it. Just confirm with the host through RVezy messaging before booking so they can note your route. Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend across the border. For Canada trips, some hosts allow it, message them directly to confirm. Pro tip: the I-10 corridor from Quartzsite to Indio, California is one of the smoothest, most scenic desert drives in the country and pairs perfectly with a stop at Joshua Tree National Park.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

How much should I budget for fuel on a Quartzsite RV trip?

Fuel is easier to budget than you'd think. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans get 15 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 MPG). Arizona gas prices in the Quartzsite area tend to run a bit lower than California but higher than Phoenix, with the Pilot and Love's truck stops on Interstate 10 offering the most competitive diesel. For a typical 300-mile loop to Joshua Tree and back, plan on $90 to $130 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Quartzsite or Blythe before crossing into California, prices jump significantly once you're past the state line.

How far in advance should I book a Quartzsite campground?

For the busiest stretch (early January through mid-February), book hookup sites at private parks like Holiday Palms, La Posada, and 88 Shades at least 3 to 6 months ahead, they fill up fast for the Quartzsite RV Show. La Posa LTVA permits from the BLM are sold on-site or via Recreation.gov and rarely sell out, though the prime spots near the dump station go quickly. Free 14-day BLM dispersed areas (Hi Jolly, Scaddan Wash, Roadrunner, Plomosa) are first-come, first-served year-round. Pro tip: arrive Sunday through Tuesday for the best pick of dispersed sites, weekenders clear out and you'll score prime desert real estate with mountain views.

What are driving conditions like around Quartzsite?

Driving around Quartzsite is about as easy as RV driving gets, flat desert terrain, straight roads, and Interstate 10 running right through town with wide lanes and gentle grades. Side roads like US-95 north to Lake Havasu and AZ-95 south to Yuma are well-paved and lightly trafficked. Watch for occasional dust storms (haboobs) in summer, sudden flash floods in dips during monsoon season (July-September), and crossing wildlife at dawn and dusk. In January, expect heavy local traffic on Main Street and Kuehn Street during the big shows. Pro tip: avoid driving I-10 westbound on Sunday afternoons in winter, that's when snowbirds head back to California and traffic backs up at the Blythe agricultural inspection.

What amenities will I find at Quartzsite campgrounds?

Quartzsite offers two distinct camping styles, and both are well-equipped. Private RV parks like Holiday Palms, La Posada, and 88 Shades provide full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, sewer), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and showers. BLM areas like La Posa LTVA offer a central dump station, potable water fill, and trash service included in the permit, but no hookups at individual sites. Free 14-day dispersed BLM areas have no services at all, true boondocking. The town itself has multiple dump stations (RV Pit Stop and Love's both offer dump and fill services for a small fee). Pro tip: top off your fresh water tank before leaving town, water sources are limited once you're 10+ miles into the desert.
blm.gov/visit/la-posa

What's included inside a typical Quartzsite RV rental?

Quartzsite rentals are built for desert living. Expect a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 people depending on size, roof-mounted air conditioning, propane furnace, and seatbelts for travel. Most motorhome rental Quartzsite listings also include a generator (essential for boondocking on BLM land), solar panels, fresh/grey/black water tanks, and outdoor awnings. Some campervan rental Quartzsite options add cassette toilets and lithium batteries for extended off-grid stays. Wi-Fi and TV vary by host, so check listing photos and amenities carefully. Pro tip: for serious boondocking in the Quartzsite desert, filter for rigs with solar plus a generator, that combo keeps you comfortable for a full week off-grid.
blm.gov/visit/quartzsite

What add-ons and pickup options do Quartzsite hosts offer?

Quartzsite hosts are known for being flexible and well-prepared. Common add-ons include camping chairs, outdoor mats, generators, extra propane, bike racks, leveling blocks, and full kitchen kits, typically $10 to $50 each. Many hosts also offer pre-stocked starter packages for first-timers. Pickup is usually at the host's location in or near Quartzsite, but RV delivery in Quartzsite is widely available, often to La Posa LTVA, BLM dispersed sites, or any RV park in town for a flat fee based on distance. Mileage policies vary, with daily allowances commonly between 100 and 200 miles, plus unlimited-mileage options for road-trippers. Pro tip: message the host before booking with your exact itinerary, they'll often customize a package that saves you money.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, no cash exchanged with the host. Your total includes the nightly rate, service fee, chosen protection plan, and any host add-ons. The security deposit is handled separately from your booking payment as a temporary hold, and the amount is shown on the listing so there are no surprises. As long as the RV is returned in the agreed condition (clean, undamaged, with tanks dumped per host instructions), the hold is released after your trip. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a quick walkaround video at pickup and return, it's the easiest way to keep your deposit return smooth and stress-free.
