This was my first time renting a trailer to camp in. I couldn’t have picked a better host! He was extremely communicative and though we had no problems I know if I did we would have been taken care of right away! I can wait to rent this trailer again. The delivery and set up was also done by them and it went smooth and quick! Highly recommend!

2024 Winnebago Class C
This Winnebago was awesome and turned out to be perfect for our trip! It was easy to handle on the road, easy to setup, and so nice and comfortable inside. We had four adults, one toddler, and a small dog for a weekend trip and had plenty of room for everyone. The RV is packed with everything you might need, with plenty of space for your own belongings. Joe was so helpful and was available when we had to trouble shoot the power (total user error). This was our first time RV dry camping and we were setup with every thing we needed. Great experience, we hope to rent this RV again in the future!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Linden, CA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Linden, CA?

RV rental in Linden, CA is one of the more affordable options in the Bay Area-adjacent region, since you skip big-city premiums charged in Stockton or Sacramento. Travel trailers typically start around $90-$140 per night, Class C motorhomes run $150-$225 per night, and larger Class A rigs $200-$350 per night, with prices dipping noticeably from November through March. To find a cheap RV rental in Linden, filter by travel trailers, book mid-week, and watch for hosts who include generous mileage. Pro tip: book at least 4-6 weeks ahead of the Linden Cherry Festival in mid-May, when local demand from festival-goers spikes and inventory tightens fast.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Linden, California?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Linden for the vast majority of motorhomes and trailers on RVezy. Under California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) rules, a standard Class C license covers any housecar 40 feet or shorter, which includes nearly every Class B campervan, Class C motorhome, and travel trailer on the platform. You'll need to be 25 or older and pass a quick ID verification through RVezy when you book. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork really is.

What protection comes with my Linden RV rental?

Every RV rental in Linden booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can pull out of the driveway with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level (not the host) during checkout, picking the option that matches your comfort and budget. Roadside help is one phone call away if you get a flat on Highway 26 heading to New Hogan Lake or run into trouble in the Sierra foothills. It removes the biggest worry most first-time renters have and lets you focus on the trip.

What happens if I need to cancel my Linden RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy (not the individual host) sets the cancellation policy, and there is a money-back grace period built in for every reservation so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If life happens, plans change, or a winter storm rolls through the Central Valley, you will have a clear path to adjust or cancel depending on how far out your trip is. If a host cancels, RVezy refunds the guest or provides credits directly. Pro tip: book early to get the RV you want for your Linden RV trip, then relax knowing the cancellation framework has your back.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Linden?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Linden is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search, and you'll see listings from hosts who happily welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Once you're on the road, you've got great options nearby: New Hogan Lake's Acorn Campground allows leashed pets on a 6-foot leash throughout the campground and along its 50 miles of shoreline, and Lake Camanche just up Highway 12 is equally dog-friendly. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your pet's size and breed, ask about any cleaning fee, and you'll have a smooth, tail-wagging Linden RV trip.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Linden?

Yes, RV delivery in Linden is one of the smartest moves for first-timers, families, and anyone who'd rather skip driving a big rig on Highway 99 or Highway 26. Many local hosts will deliver your motorhome rental to Linden addresses, nearby campgrounds like New Hogan Lake's Acorn Campground, or even further afield to Lake Camanche or Calaveras County RV parks. They'll level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every switch before handing over the keys. Just use the Delivery filter on RVezy and message the host with your destination address; most quote delivery within a 30-50 mile radius of Linden for a flat fee.

How far can I drive on my Linden RV rental, and is unlimited mileage available?

You've got real range from Linden, and RV rental with unlimited mileage is offered by select hosts, listed clearly on each RVezy listing. Most hosts include 100-150 free miles per night and charge $0.30-$0.45 per additional mile, which is plenty for popular Linden RV trip routes: Yosemite Valley is roughly 130 miles southeast (about 3 hours via Highway 120), Lake Tahoe sits 130 miles northeast, the Pacific Coast at Santa Cruz is around 110 miles west, and San Francisco is just 85 miles via Interstate 580. Pro tip: estimate your full route before booking, then filter for unlimited-mileage listings if you're planning a big loop through the Sierra and back.

Where are the best campgrounds near Linden, CA?

You're spoiled for choice with great campgrounds near Linden. New Hogan Lake (about 25 miles east on Highway 26) is the local favorite, with Acorn Campground offering 128 sites, hot showers, and flush toilets right above a 4,400-acre lake managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Oak Knoll Campground at New Hogan is more primitive but quieter, and Deer Flat offers boat-in sites. Lake Camanche to the north and Pardee Lake in Amador County are both excellent for RV camping in Linden's surrounding foothills. Pro tip: book Acorn Campground on Recreation.gov up to six months in advance for summer weekends, especially around the July 4th fireworks over New Hogan.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233683

When is the best time to rent an RV in Linden, CA?

Linden's sweet spot for RV camping runs from late March through early June and again from mid-September through early November, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65 to 80 degree Fahrenheit range. Summers from late June through August are genuinely hot, with July averages around 94 degrees Fahrenheit, so plan for shaded campsites, lake access, and morning drives. Winters are mild (highs 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit) and great for snowbird-style trips, with rare frost and almost no snow at Linden's 80-foot elevation. Pro tip: time your trip around mid-May for the free Linden Cherry Festival on Front Street, the local insider event the town has celebrated for over 40 years.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay renting one in Linden?

You'll be totally fine, and Linden is genuinely one of the best places in California for first time renting an RV. The roads are wide, the surrounding countryside is flat ag-country with light traffic, and you're not fighting Bay Area gridlock. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the slides, hookups, generator, dump procedures, and dashboard before you leave. You can also message your host with questions any time during your trip. Pro tip: do a slow practice loop on the rural roads east of town toward Bellota before pointing toward Highway 26 or Yosemite, and you'll feel like a pro within an hour.

What happens if my RV breaks down during my Linden trip?

You are never stranded. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 26, a dead battery at New Hogan Lake, or a tow situation in the Sierra foothills is one phone call away from being handled. Your host is also a direct lifeline by message or phone for quick questions, like how to reset the inverter or restart the propane fridge. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's VIN and the roadside assistance number at pickup so you have everything ready if you ever need it.

What are the best road trip routes from Linden, CA?

An RV road trip from Linden puts some of California's best landscapes within easy reach. Head 130 miles southeast on Highway 120 to Yosemite National Park for a 2-3 night loop through Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows. Drive 130 miles northeast via Highway 88 to South Lake Tahoe for alpine camping and beaches. Cruise 85 miles west on Interstate 580 to San Francisco and the Pacific coast, or 110 miles southwest to Santa Cruz and the redwoods. Closer to home, the Gold Country towns of Murphys, Angels Camp, and Columbia State Historic Park are all under 50 miles away. Travel into Mexico isn't permitted on RVezy rentals, but Canada and all 48 contiguous states are open with host approval.
nps.gov/yose/index.htm

What's the fuel budget for an RV trip from Linden?

Fuel is the biggest variable in any RV budget, but Linden's location gives you an edge: gas in San Joaquin County typically runs $0.20-$0.40 cheaper per gallon than Bay Area prices, so fill up locally before heading west. Expect 7-10 miles per gallon for Class A motorhomes, 10-14 MPG for Class C, 15-20 MPG for Class B campervans, and 12-16 MPG for trucks towing travel trailers. For a typical 400-mile loop to Yosemite and back, budget $130-$220 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: the Costco in Stockton (about 15 miles west on Highway 26) consistently has the lowest diesel and regular gas prices in the area.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Linden?

For summer weekends and holidays, book 4-6 months ahead, especially for the most popular RV camping near Linden at New Hogan Lake. Reservations for federal campgrounds like Acorn and Oak Knoll open on Recreation.gov on a rolling 6-month window, and they fill quickly for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. Deer Flat's boat-in sites are first-come, first-served seasonally. For Lake Camanche and Pardee Lake, reserve through their park websites about 3 months out. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday through Wednesday) are dramatically easier to book and often less expensive than Friday and Saturday stays.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233683

What are driving conditions like around Linden?

Driving an RV around Linden is refreshingly easy. The town sits in the flat farmland of eastern San Joaquin County at just 80 feet of elevation, with wide rural roads and minimal traffic outside of Stockton commute hours. Highway 26 east toward New Hogan Lake and the Gold Country has gentle grades and good shoulders. The main thing to know: California law caps any vehicle towing a trailer at 55 mph on all highways (California Vehicle Code 22406), and towing rigs must stay in the two rightmost lanes on multi-lane freeways. Watch for tule fog from November through February in the Central Valley, slow down, and you'll be set. Pro tip: avoid Interstate 5 and Highway 99 during the 3-6 pm Stockton rush if you're heading west.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Linden?

Local campgrounds offer a great mix of comfort and nature. At New Hogan Lake, Acorn Campground has hot showers, flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings at each of its 128 sites, plus an on-site dump station. Oak Knoll is more primitive (vault toilets, no showers), and Coyote Point handles groups up to 50. Lake Camanche and Pardee Lake both have full hookup sites with water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric. There's no marina or store at New Hogan, so stock up in Linden or Valley Springs before arriving. Pro tip: the Acorn dump station is free for registered campers, and potable water fill-ups are right by the entrance kiosk.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233683

What will I find inside my Linden RV rental?

Linden RV rentals come ready for adventure. Expect comfortable beds (most sleep 4-8 people), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with air conditioning and heat (essential for those 94-degree July afternoons), and dining/lounge space. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes typically include a TV, propane generator for off-grid power, and seatbelted seating for 4-7. Many hosts add WiFi hotspots, outdoor chairs, BBQs, and bedding kits as optional extras. Pro tip: in your host message, confirm seatbelt count if you're traveling with kids in car seats, since California law requires a proper seatbelt for every occupant while the RV is moving.
chp.ca.gov/programs-services/programs/child-safety-seats

What add-ons can I get with my Linden RV rental, and how do pickup and dropoff work?

You can customize your rent an RV in Linden experience with popular add-ons like bedding and linen packages ($30-$75), kitchen kits, camp chairs and tables, generators, bike racks, propane refills, and dump-station service so you can return the RV without emptying the tanks yourself. Delivery is the most loved add-on, with many hosts bringing the rig directly to your campground or driveway for a flat fee. Pickup typically takes 45-60 minutes for the walkthrough; dropoff is faster at 15-30 minutes. Mileage policies vary by listing, so check before booking. Pro tip: bundling delivery plus a dump-and-refill add-on means you can show up to your campsite with nothing to do but light the campfire.
recreation.gov/

How does payment and the security deposit work for my Linden RV rental?

Payment is straightforward and handled securely through RVezy, never directly to the host. You pay the rental total when you book using a credit or debit card, and a refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before your trip starts, separately from the booking payment. The hold is released after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in the same condition it left. Avoid issues by taking timestamped photos of the RV inside and out at pickup and dropoff, returning with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and emptying tanks (or paying the dump add-on). Pro tip: keep extra headroom on your card so the deposit hold does not interrupt trip purchases.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Where can I park an RV overnight in and around Linden?

Your best bet is always a real campground or RV park, but knowing the rules helps. In nearby Stockton, overnight street parking of RVs is limited to 72 hours under the municipal code, and many Central Valley cities including Manteca strictly enforce no-overnight-parking ordinances at big-box stores. The smart play: head 25 miles east to New Hogan Lake for a proper site, or use RVezy's Delivery filter so your host parks the RV at a legal campground or private driveway for you. California Vehicle Code allows brief rest-area stops (typically up to 8 hours) at Caltrans rest areas along Interstate 5 if you need to break up a drive. Pro tip: Flying Flags and Tower Park Resort in nearby Lodi are excellent full-hookup options 20 minutes from Linden.
