2022 Grand Design Travel Trailer
I am not a seasoned camper by any means. However I have had the opportunity to rent a few campers over the last 2 seasons. This camper has been my favorite. It was extremely spacious, clean and fully equipped. We were able to cook and host dinner for 4 large adults without climbing all over one another in the camper during the rainy evenings. Brooklyn provided a full white glove service with delivery, setup, pickup and even a "how to" session to answer my newbie questions. I could totally get used to camping in this rig. I will be starring this camper in the hopes to rent it again in the future. Thank you Brooklyn!

When the phrase “above and beyond” was created , Shiloh was who they had in mind. Not only did Shiloh rent us his RV for a really important family reunion in Aurora (on the other side of the mountain range), he rented us his truck as well because our vehicle wouldn’t haul it. He truly went above and beyond to accommodate our trip, making sure we had everything we needed and checked in on us daily to make sure all was well. You are in good hands booking with him, he is a man of his word and I would be happy to business with him again. Thanks again Shiloh!!

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Berkley, CO?

Good news: a regular Colorado (or any U.S. state) driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Berkley, CO. There is no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special RV endorsement required, even for larger Class A motorhomes or fifth wheels. Yes. Every RVezy booking in Berkley, CO includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are covered from the moment you pull out of the host's driveway. You choose your protection level at checkout (not the host), so you can match coverage to your comfort level, and the plan helps cover eligible damage to the RV during your trip. Can I bring my dog on my Berkley RV trip?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Berkley is easy to find. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome dogs (some add a small cleaning fee or refundable deposit). Berkley is a dream for dog parents: walk Berkeley Lake Regional Park and the trails around Willis Case Golf Course right in the neighborhood, then head about 30 minutes south to Chatfield State Park, which has a large off-leash dog area and a dog swim beach on the reservoir. At Colorado state park campgrounds, dogs must stay on a leash no longer than six feet, so pack a standard lead.

Berkley's prime RV season runs from late May through early October, when daytime highs typically sit in the 75 to 90 degree Fahrenheit range and mountain passes are fully open. June through August is peak for Rocky Mountain National Park and high-country campgrounds. September is the local insider favorite, with cooler nights in the 40s, golden aspens along the Peak to Peak Highway, and noticeably lower nightly rates. Winter RV trips are doable too if you want to ski, since many Berkley-area hosts offer four-season rigs with heated tanks and furnaces for trips to Idaho Springs, Georgetown, or Winter Park.

I have never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

You will do great, and first time renting an RV in Berkley is one of the easiest places in the country to start. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the propane, water, generator, slide-outs, and dump procedure so you are not guessing. You can also message the host anytime during your trip with questions, and RVezy support and 24/7 roadside assistance are just a phone call away. Can I take a Berkley RV rental across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?

Cross-state RV road trips from Berkley are encouraged: Wyoming's Grand Tetons (about 8 hours, 500 miles), Utah's Arches and Canyonlands (about 5.5 hours, 350 miles), New Mexico's Taos (about 4.5 hours, 260 miles), and South Dakota's Black Hills (about 6 hours, 385 miles) are all classic loops. Travel into Canada may be possible with specific host approval and insurance confirmation, so message the host before booking if that is your plan. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there. Stay in the U.S. (and Canada with approval) and the open road is yours.

How much should I budget for fuel on my Berkley RV trip?

Fuel is one of the biggest line items, so plan smart. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes 6 to 10 MPG; towable trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Colorado gas prices typically run around $3.20 to $3.60 per gallon in the Denver area, with diesel slightly higher. For a 500-mile loop from Berkley to Rocky Mountain National Park and back through Estes Park, budget roughly $180 to $250 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in north Denver before climbing I-70, where mountain-town gas can run 50 cents more per gallon.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Berkley?

For Colorado state parks like Chatfield, Cherry Creek, Golden Gate Canyon, and St. Vrain, reservations open exactly six months ahead at cpwshop.com or by calling 1-800-244-5613, and summer weekends genuinely sell out within minutes of opening. National Forest sites in Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests also book six months out through Recreation.gov. Private parks like Dakota Ridge RV Resort and Clear Creek RV Park typically book one to three months ahead for peak season. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for the exact six-month mark at 8 a.m. Mountain Time, log in early, and have your campsite map picked out before clicking.
recreation.gov/

What is driving an RV like around Berkley and the Denver metro?

Berkley is one of the easier launch points for an RV in the Denver metro because you can hop straight onto I-76, I-70, or US-36 without crawling through downtown. Avoid driving large Class A motorhomes through downtown Denver's 16th Street area and watch low-clearance bridges on side streets (under 12 feet). Heading west on I-70, you will climb from 5,280 feet at Berkley to over 11,000 feet at the Eisenhower Tunnel, so go slow, use lower gears on descents, and check CDOT's COtrip.org for chain laws between October and May. Pro tip: leave for the mountains before 9 a.m. on weekends to beat ski and hiking traffic.
codot.gov/travel/colorado-chain-law

What amenities should I expect at campgrounds near Berkley?

Front Range campgrounds are well equipped. Cherry Creek State Park has 106 full-hookup sites (electric, water, sewer), showers, a dump station, laundry, and an amphitheater. Chatfield State Park offers electric at every site with many full hookups, plus showers and a marina. Golden Gate Canyon's Reverend's Ridge has flush toilets, showers, laundry, and a dump station. For dumping or filling fresh water mid-trip, Prospect RV Park in Wheat Ridge (10 minutes from Berkley) and most Colorado state parks offer public dump stations for a small fee. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 30-to-50 amp adapter so you are ready for any hookup combo.

What is included inside a typical RV rental in Berkley?

Most motorhome rentals in Berkley come fully livable out of the gate: a real bed (queen or larger), a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, dining seating with seatbelts, air conditioning, a furnace, and a TV. Many Berkley hosts also throw in bedding, towels, outdoor chairs, and a Bluetooth speaker. Wi-Fi and generators are common add-ons rather than standard, so check the listing. Campervan rental Berkley options (Class B) are more compact but still include a bed, fridge, and small kitchen. Each RVezy listing has a clear amenities checklist, so you know exactly what is on board before you book.
colorado.com/things-to-do/rv-camping

What add-ons and pickup logistics should I know about for a Berkley RV trip?

Popular add-ons from Berkley hosts include generator use, kitchen and bedding packages, portable BBQs, bike racks, camp chairs, and propane refills. Delivery to Denver International Airport, downtown Denver hotels, or a Front Range campground is typically priced per mile each way and shown on the listing. Pickup is usually round-trip back to the host, with a 24-hour window agreed on in your booking. Mileage policies vary by host (look for unlimited miles for long loops), and pet fees are common but reasonable. Pro tip: message the host a couple of days before pickup to confirm exact arrival time and any last-minute add-ons.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and fully online. When you book your RV rental in Berkley, CO, RVezy charges your card securely through the platform (never pay a host directly outside the site). A refundable security deposit is held separately before pickup to cover things like minor damage, excess mileage, or returning the RV without refueling, and it is released after the host confirms the rig came back in good shape. Deposit amounts vary by RV and are shown clearly on the listing. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff with the host, fuel up before returning, and your deposit will come back fast.
