RV & camper rentals in Limon, CO

RV rental in Limon is one of the better values in Colorado, with most travel trailers running about $90 to $160 per night and Class C motorhomes typically $175 to $295 per night on RVezy. Because Limon sits at the I-70 and US-24/US-40 crossroads rather than inside a tourist hub like Denver or Estes Park, hosts price competitively to attract through-travelers and Front Range road-trippers. To find a cheap RV rental in Limon, book midweek, travel in the shoulder months of April, May, or late September, and filter by travel trailer for the lowest nightly rates. Pro tip: many Limon hosts offer multi-night discounts of 10 to 20 percent for stays of five nights or more, perfect for a longer Colorado loop.

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Limon, Colorado. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles only requires a Commercial Driver's License for vehicles over 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, which is well above any RV you'll find on RVezy. You also need to be at least 25 years old and verify your identity through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit from your home country's auto association before you fly in, pair it with your home license, and you're set to cruise I-70 toward the Rockies.

Every RV rental in Limon, CO booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit I-70 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage tier during checkout, not the host. Higher tiers reduce your financial responsibility in the event of a covered incident and add extra benefits. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers during booking and pick the one that matches your route. If you're heading west into mountain passes around Vail or Estes Park, a higher tier brings extra confidence on switchbacks.

You can book your Limon RV trip with confidence because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy that applies to every reservation. There's a money-back grace period right after booking, and cancellation outcomes depend on how far in advance of your trip start date you cancel, so the sooner you decide, the more options you have. If your host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so your plans stay on track. Pro tip: if a wildfire, blizzard, or severe storm warning is issued near your route, reach out to RVezy support right away. Their team is available 24/7 to help you sort out next steps.

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Limon is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see Class C motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers whose hosts welcome dogs (some welcome cats too). Limon itself is welcoming for pets: dogs are allowed on leash at Limon KOA Journey and at the trails around Limon City Park and the Limon Heritage Museum grounds. About 90 minutes west, Cherry Creek State Park near Denver has a large off-leash dog area your pup will love. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees (typically $25 to $75 per stay) and ask about pet hair cleanup expectations.

Yes, RV delivery in Limon is one of the most popular options on RVezy and a game-changer for first-time renters. Many Limon hosts will deliver to Limon KOA Journey on Colorado Avenue, to nearby city RV parking areas, or directly to your campsite at Cherry Creek State Park or Jackson Lake State Park. The host parks the rig, levels it, connects the hookups, walks you through every system, and you simply unlock and enjoy. Delivery fees typically run a few dollars per mile round-trip. Pro tip: bundle delivery with pickup at trip's end so you never have to drive the RV yourself, ideal if you're nervous about handling a motorhome at altitude.

Limon's location is its superpower for RV travel: you're about 87 miles east of Denver, 75 miles northeast of Colorado Springs, roughly 160 miles southeast of Rocky Mountain National Park, and about 230 miles from Great Sand Dunes National Park. Most Limon hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and many offer an unlimited mileage upgrade or charge around $0.35 to $0.50 per extra mile. For longer Colorado loops, request the unlimited package up front. Pro tip: a classic 5-night Limon RV trip easily covers Rocky Mountain National Park, a night in Estes Park, and a stop at Garden of the Gods, all within a 600-mile loop.

You have several solid options for RV camping in Limon and the surrounding plains. Limon KOA Journey on Colorado Avenue offers pull-through sites with full hookups, a seasonal pool, and easy I-70 Exit 361 access. The city-run RV park at Limon offers hookup sites for travelers passing through. For something more remote, smaller plains campgrounds sit just east toward Genoa and Flagler. Heading west? Cherry Creek State Park outside Denver and Jackson Lake State Park to the north are gold-standard options for state-park RV camping. Pro tip: Limon's elevation of about 5,374 feet means cool nights even in July, perfect for sleeping with the windows cracked open.

The sweet spot for a Limon RV trip is late May through mid-September, when daytime highs typically run in the upper 70s to upper 80s°F and nights cool into the 50s°F under famously dark eastern Colorado skies. July is the warmest month and also one of the wettest, with afternoon thunderstorms rolling across the plains. May and September are smart shoulder months with milder temps, fewer crowds, and stunning stargazing. Winters are genuinely cold, with January highs in the low 40s°F and lows in the teens, plus occasional blizzards on I-70. Pro tip: aim for a mid-September Limon trip to catch aspen color in the Rockies, only about 2 hours west, while still enjoying warm plains weather.

Limon is one of the best places in Colorado to be a first-time RV renter. Traffic is light, the terrain is flat and forgiving (Limon sits on the Eastern Plains, not in the mountains), and you can practice driving on wide-open stretches of US-24 or US-40 before tackling anything more ambitious. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering propane, water, slide-outs, generator, and dump procedures, so you're never left guessing. RVezy support is also reachable 24/7 throughout your trip. Pro tip: book a Class C motorhome or campervan rental in Limon for your first trip. They drive much like a large truck and are far easier to maneuver than a Class A coach.

Take a breath: every RV rental in Limon, CO through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance with the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away. Whether you're stuck with a flat on I-70 near Flagler, a dead battery at Cherry Creek State Park, or a mechanical issue climbing Berthoud Pass, dispatch will coordinate a tow, tire change, fuel delivery, or jump-start. The RVezy support team also stays in the loop to help with rebooking, lodging, or trip extensions if needed. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's roadside assistance info and VIN at pickup. It saves precious minutes when calling in from a quiet stretch of the Eastern Plains.

An RV road trip from Limon practically plans itself thanks to the I-70 and US-24 crossroads. Head about 87 miles west to Denver and the Front Range; continue roughly 160 miles northwest to Rocky Mountain National Park for elk, alpine lakes, and Trail Ridge Road; or swing about 75 miles southwest to Colorado Springs for Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. Want big skies? Drive about 230 miles south to Great Sand Dunes National Park, or roughly 4 hours west to Glenwood Hot Springs. Trips into neighboring states like Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, New Mexico, and Utah are typically allowed (confirm with your host). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: I-70 east connects you to Kansas in under 2 hours if you want a multi-state stamp.

Fuel is usually the biggest variable in any RV budget, but Limon's flat terrain helps your mileage. A Class C motorhome typically gets 8 to 10 miles per gallon, a campervan rental in Limon 14 to 18 MPG, and a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer 10 to 13 MPG. Colorado regular unleaded has recently averaged in the low- to mid-$3 range per gallon, and Limon's travel centers at I-70 Exit 361 are convenient and competitively priced. Budget roughly $0.40 to $0.55 per mile in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fuel up in Limon before heading west, as gas prices climb noticeably once you reach mountain towns like Estes Park or Breckenridge.

For Limon-area RV parks like Limon KOA Journey, you can usually book 2 to 4 weeks ahead, even in summer, because the town is more of a strategic basecamp than a destination resort. However, the Colorado state parks you'll likely visit (Cherry Creek, Chatfield, Jackson Lake, Eleven Mile, and Mueller) fill up fast. Reserve those through Colorado Parks and Wildlife up to 6 months in advance, especially for weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day. Rocky Mountain National Park campgrounds book on Recreation.gov on a rolling 6-month window. Pro tip: book your state park sites first, then back into your Limon stop dates around them.

Driving an RV around Limon is refreshingly straightforward. The town sits at about 5,374 feet on the Eastern Plains, where roads are flat, straight, and lightly trafficked: I-70, US-24, US-40, and US-287 all converge here. The two real conditions to watch are wind and weather. The plains can deliver strong crosswinds, especially on I-70 between Limon and Burlington, so slow down with a tall rig on gusty days. Spring (April to June) brings occasional hail and severe thunderstorms, and winter blizzards can shut I-70 entirely. Always check COtrip before you roll. Pro tip: if you're driving west into the Rockies, hit the road before 10 a.m. to avoid afternoon thunderstorms that build over the foothills in summer.

Campgrounds near Limon are well-equipped for full-service RV camping. Limon KOA Journey offers full hookups with 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer at every site, plus an on-site dump station, hot showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi. The KOA also has a seasonal pool, playground, and small camp store with propane refills. Need to dump or fill water between stops? The Love's Travel Stop at I-70 Exit 361 has RV services, and most Colorado state parks include free dump stations near their exits. Pro tip: Limon's tap water is hard but safe, so consider a quick in-line water filter (often under $30 at a local farm and ranch store) to protect your RV's plumbing on a longer trip.

You'll be impressed by how livable a modern RV is. Most Limon rentals on RVezy sleep 4 to 8 people and come with a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink), an indoor bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and 30- or 50-amp shore power capability. Class C motorhomes and Class A coaches typically include a generator for off-grid power, while campervans lean on solar and house batteries. Expect comfortable beds, dinette tables, and seatbelts for every passenger. TVs, Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, and awnings are common too. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count on RVezy first, then look for must-haves like a generator or solar for boondocking on Colorado public lands.

Limon hosts make customizing easy. Popular add-ons include bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, camping chairs and outdoor tables, generators, bike racks, and even portable solar panels. Pickup is typically at the host's home or a meeting point near I-70 Exits 359 or 361, with a 30- to 60-minute walkthrough included. Many Limon hosts also offer RV delivery in Limon for a per-mile fee, plus convenience add-ons like dump and refill service so you can return the rig without that final stop. Mileage policies usually include 100 to 150 free miles per night with overage around $0.35 to $0.50 per mile. Pro tip: bundle linens and a kitchen kit on your first trip so you can fly into Denver International Airport and start camping the same day.

Payment for your RV rental in Limon is handled securely through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash or a card to the host directly. You pay a portion at booking to confirm the reservation, with the balance charged before your trip start date. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup and released after a smooth return, typically within several days. To avoid any deposit hiccups: do the pre-trip walkthrough with the host, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, empty the tanks if required, and respect the mileage cap. Pro tip: keep all fuel and dump-station receipts in the RVezy app's trip thread for a frictionless checkout.

Limon RV camping in shoulder season and winter is absolutely doable, and the dark, snow-dusted plains are stunning under a full moon. Just plan ahead: nighttime temperatures can drop into the teens°F from November through March, with January lows averaging around 14°F. Filter RVezy listings for RVs with heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, a propane furnace, and electric heat strips, and book a campground with full hookups like Limon KOA Journey so you can run shore power without draining batteries. Always travel with extra propane, a heated water hose, and tire chains if you're heading toward the mountains. Pro tip: I-70 closures from blizzards do happen, so build a flex day into any winter Limon RV trip and monitor COtrip daily.
