This travel trailer was perfect for us! It’s modern, spacious, fully furnished, bright and laid out well. The 2 entrance option was great - access to the bathroom directly from the outside worked out well at the dirt bike track, so no one had to track dirt across the floor. Delivery was smooth and communication was excellent. Plenty of room for everyone!

Sam was a great host, he communicated well and had everything set up before I got there. I was a family of 4 and we had enough room. Shower is perfect size and bathroom even comes with a door so you can go straight outside. We had a canopy and led light outside plus outdoor speakers with a built in radio/ bluetooth that comes with the camper. You won’t be disappointed. Book your next trip with Sam.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Union Point, GA?

Great news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Union Point. Georgia's Department of Driver Services explicitly exempts recreational vehicles from commercial driver's license (CDL) requirements, so a standard Class C license covers everything from a Class B campervan to a 35-foot Class C motorhome and any towable travel trailer on the RVezy platform. You'll need to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the booking process, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country alongside your home license and you're set to roll toward Lake Oconee.

When is the best time for RV camping in Union Point, GA?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Union Point is mid-March through May and again from late September through early November, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65 to 80 degree range and humidity is manageable. Summer (June through August) regularly climbs into the upper 80s and low 90s with sticky humidity, so book a rig with strong air conditioning and plan early-morning lake time. Pro tip: October weekends are spectacular as the hardwoods around Lake Oconee turn gold and crimson.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what I'm doing?

You'll be in great hands, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery) covering driving, the water and electrical systems, the propane stove, the awning, slide-outs, and dumping basics. They'll share their personal phone number, and you can text them mid-trip with any question, no matter how small. Union Point's quiet two-lane country roads are an ideal place to get comfortable with a motorhome before heading anywhere busier. Pro tip: choose a Class C motorhome or 20 to 25 foot travel trailer for your first trip. They're easier to maneuver around Lake Oconee's campground loops than a 35 foot Class A.

What happens if my RV breaks down near Union Point?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Union Point, GA booked with a protection plan includes 24/7 roadside assistance, covering issues like flats, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. One phone call dispatches help to your location, whether you are on I-20 near Madison, parked at Old Salem Park, or camping near Oconee National Forest. Your host is also a quick text away for questions about quirks of their specific rig, and repair shops in Greensboro and Athens can handle most mechanical issues if needed. Pro tip: save the RVezy roadside number and your host's contact in your phone before you pull out of the driveway so help is one tap away.

Yes, an RV road trip from Union Point through multiple states is totally doable. Most hosts allow travel throughout the continental United States, so you can chase the Blue Ridge Parkway into North Carolina (about 4 hours north), beach it in the Florida Panhandle (6 hours south), or explore South Carolina's coast (4 hours east). Cross-border trips into Canada may be allowed by some hosts depending on their insurance, so just message them before booking to confirm. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance doesn't extend there. Pro tip: share your full route with your host when booking, it helps them recommend mileage packages and pickup timing.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Union Point RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier costs to predict for a motorhome rental in Union Point. Class B campervans typically get 18 to 22 mpg, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 mpg, and Class A rigs run 6 to 10 mpg. Georgia gas prices are usually near or slightly below the national average, so a round trip from Union Point to Lake Oconee (about 26 miles) costs only a few dollars, and even a 200-mile loop through Athens and Madison stays modest for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up at the larger truck-friendly stations near I-20 exits before heading into smaller towns where prices can be higher per gallon.

How far ahead should I book a campground near Union Point?

Book your campsite as soon as your RV is reserved. Georgia State Parks like A.H. Stephens and Hard Labor Creek open reservations 13 months in advance through ReserveAmerica, and Lake Oconee favorites such as Old Salem Park and Parks Ferry (managed by Georgia Power) often fill 3 to 6 months ahead for summer weekends and holidays. Private parks like the Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA usually have more weekday flexibility. For shoulder seasons (March, April, October), 4 to 6 weeks of lead time is generally enough. Pro tip: if you strike out at a state park, check for cancellations 2 weeks out, that's when many reservations get released.

The town sits right off I-20 between Atlanta and Augusta, so you get smooth four-lane interstate access plus quiet rural highways like US-278 and GA-77 with very light traffic. Watch for occasional deer at dawn and dusk on country roads, and be aware that summer afternoons can bring quick thunderstorms with brief heavy rain. Pro tip: if you're nervous about Atlanta traffic on I-20 westbound, time your drive for after 9:30 am or before 3:00 pm to skip the rush.
