Kyle was outstanding. I rented his RV through RVezy for my wedding day, and it ended up being one of the best decisions we made. I wanted a comfortable, fun place for me and my groomsmen to hang out before the wedding, and Kyle completely delivered. He was enthusiastic about the idea from the beginning, very accommodating, and made me feel like he genuinely cared about helping make the day special. He drove about 1.5 hours to deliver the RV, arrived on time, communicated clearly the whole way, and even let me know when he was about an hour out. The RV was spotless, and he gave me a detailed walkthrough so I knew exactly how to use everything — audio, Bluetooth, A/C, bedrooms, propane, grill, all of it. On top of that, he went above and beyond by bringing a handmade cornhole set for us to use at no extra charge. That kind of thoughtfulness and customer service is rare. If you’re considering renting from Kyle, do it. He’s professional, reliable, generous, and clearly takes a lot of pride in giving people a great experience. I’d happily rent from him again.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in New Albany, Indiana?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in New Albany. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement for personal-use RVs, including Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels. To book on RVezy, you generally need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and you'll verify your identity through the platform during checkout. Visiting from abroad? Pair your home license with an International Driving Permit and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork really is.

What happens if I need to cancel my New Albany RV rental?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not individual hosts. There is a grace period right after booking during which you can cancel for a full refund, and beyond that window your refund depends on how far in advance you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy issues a refund or travel credit so you're never left without options. Review the current cancellation terms on RVezy before you confirm. Pro tip: book early for Thunder Over Louisville or Derby weekend, when the best rigs near New Albany sell out months ahead.

I've never rented an RV before. How does it work in New Albany?

First time renting an RV? You're going to love how supported you feel. Most issues are solved in under an hour, and you're back to enjoying your motorhome rental in New Albany.

Can I take my New Albany RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, traveling across state lines is welcome and easy with an RV rental in New Albany, IN. Travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval and proper documentation, so message them first if that's your plan. One firm rule: travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Stick to the US and Canada and you're golden.

How much should I budget for fuel on a New Albany RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in any RV budget, but it's manageable in southern Indiana. Expect 8 to 10 MPG for a Class A or large Class C motorhome rental in New Albany, 12 to 15 MPG for a campervan rental in New Albany, and your tow vehicle's normal mileage minus 30 to 40 percent if you're pulling a travel trailer. Indiana gas prices typically run a few cents below the national average, and Kentucky just across the river is often cheaper still, so fill up before crossing the Sherman Minton Bridge back into Indiana. Pro tip: GasBuddy plus the Pilot/Flying J app along I-64 and I-65 will save you real money on a longer trip.

How far in advance should I book a campground near New Albany?

For the best campgrounds near New Albany, book early, especially anything within an hour of Louisville. Indiana state parks like Charlestown, Deam Lake, and O'Bannon Woods open reservations six months in advance through the Indiana DNR Camp.IN.gov system, and prime summer weekends fill within days. Kentucky State Parks across the river use Reserve America with a similar six-month window. For Derby week, Thunder Over Louisville, or major Louisville festivals, lock in your spot 6 to 9 months out. Midweek and shoulder-season stays in April, May, September, and October can often be booked just a week ahead. Pro tip: cancellations release nightly, so refresh often if your first choice is full.

What are driving conditions like around New Albany for a first-time RVer?

Driving an RV in and around New Albany is very manageable, even for first-timers. The streets in historic downtown New Albany are narrow with low tree canopies, so most renters use delivery or pick the RV up and head straight to I-64 or I-265, which are wide, well-marked interstates. The Sherman Minton, Lewis & Clark, and Kennedy bridges all handle RVs comfortably, but avoid the older Clark Memorial Bridge in a tall rig due to height. Watch for hills around Floyds Knobs and weather closures during spring thunderstorms or rare winter ice events. Within 30 minutes you're out of the metro and onto easy rural roads heading to Charlestown, Corydon, or Patoka Lake.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near New Albany?

Campgrounds near New Albany cover the full spectrum, so you can match amenities to your comfort level. Indiana state parks like Charlestown and Deam Lake offer electric sites (typically 50-amp), centralized water fill stations, and dump stations, but no sewer at the site. Private parks like Louisville North Campground in Clarksville and Horseshoe Bend RV Campground offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, laundry, and pools. Most have potable water spigots and a free dump station for registered guests. Pro tip: if you're boondocking on a winery or farm stay, plan to dump and refill at the Pilot Travel Center off I-65 in Clarksville or at Charlestown State Park's public dump station.

What's actually inside the RV I'll rent in New Albany?

More than you'd expect. Most RVs available for rent in New Albany come fully equipped and ready to camp: a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds (great for a family RV trip in New Albany sleeping 4 to 8), a kitchen with fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, and sink, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower. Larger Class A and Class C motorhomes typically include a TV, awning, generator for off-grid power, roof and dash AC, furnace, and seat-belted travel seats. Many hosts also stock linens, kitchenware, outdoor chairs, and a starter kit of sewer hose and leveling blocks. Check the listing's amenities section or message the host to confirm Wi-Fi hotspot and generator hours.

What add-ons and options can I get with my New Albany RV rental?

Hosts in New Albany offer plenty of helpful add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include delivery and setup (often $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location), generator hours beyond the daily allowance, extra mileage packages, propane tank refills, bedding and kitchen kits, bike racks, kayak racks, and outdoor grills. Pickup is usually at the host's home in New Albany, Floyds Knobs, or just across the river in Louisville, with a 30 to 60 minute orientation. Mileage policies typically run 100 to 150 free miles per day, with options to buy more upfront at a discount. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a bedding kit and you can literally just show up at your campsite with a suitcase.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment on RVezy is simple and secure: you pay through the platform with a credit or debit card at booking, never directly to the host in cash. Your booking total includes the nightly rate, host add-ons, the protection plan you select, and applicable taxes. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized separately before your trip and released after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition it left in. To avoid any issues, do a thorough walkaround video at pickup and again at return with your host, follow the mileage and generator limits, and dump the tanks if your listing requires it. That's it, you're set for a smooth New Albany RV trip.
