⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was hands down the best RV rental experience I could have asked for! I have rented RVs for several occasions and this hands down was the best. Communication was outstanding from start to end. Jason ensured everything was good to go from booking to pick up to rental return. I had a question during the rental and I had an answer within minutes. The van was clean, well-stocked, and thoughtfully prepared with amenities and fresh water, which made the whole experience even easier. Jason was incredibly patient with my questions, welcoming and detail oriented during the van pick up, and genuinely cared that we had a great trip. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from him again and honestly can’t wait for our next adventure in his van. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an stress-free and comfortable rental experience!

Shirley was amazing to work with!! We had rented another camper from a different host (Joey) on this site and when we arrived at the campsite there was no camper! Shirley swooped in in the eleventh hour to save us! She bent over backwards to accommodate us so our weekend wasn’t ruined!! Her communication was top notch and the camper was exactly what we needed! THANK YOU SHIRLEY!!! Highly recommend!

In a word - excellent. That’s how I would describe the experience with Steve and his RV. Well-appointed, very clean, and a comprehensive manual for renters. Steve (and his wife and son) were such great collaborators in general, particularly for a festival drop off that was anything but straightforward! Next May, I will be renting from Steve again if the RV is available.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Granville, OH
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Granville, OH?
Granville is one of the more affordable RV rental markets in central Ohio, so your travel budget goes further here than in major metros. On RVezy, motorhomes near Granville average around $200 per night, while towable travel trailers and pop-ups typically run closer to $120 per night. Many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts, which makes a Granville RV trip a great value for a long weekend at Dawes Arboretum or a week exploring Buckeye Lake. To find a cheap RV rental in Granville, search mid-week dates, filter by price range, and consider a travel trailer over a Class A motorhome. Pro tip: shoulder months like late April and October bring lower prices and beautiful scenery.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Granville, OH?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Granville, Ohio. The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles does not require a Commercial Driver's License or special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally required to be 25 or older with a valid license, and identity verification happens right in the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit from your home country along with your home license and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple it is to pick up the keys and head toward the Welsh Hills.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat kind of protection comes with my RV rental in Granville?
Every RVezy booking in Granville comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so you can hit State Route 16 with real peace of mind. Protection plans help cover damage to the RV during your trip and provide meaningful financial protection while you're out exploring places like Alum Creek State Park or the Newark Earthworks. You choose your level of coverage during checkout, which means you control how much extra cushion you want. If a tire blows on the way to Dawes Arboretum, one phone call gets help dispatched any hour, day or night. Book confidently knowing you're covered before you even turn the key.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Granville RV rental?
Booking a Granville RV trip is low-risk because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy across the platform. That means consistent, transparent rules no matter which Class C or travel trailer you choose. There is a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, and additional flexibility depends on how far out from your trip you are. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy provides a refund or travel credit so you're not left stranded. The simplest path: message your host early if plans shift, then follow the cancellation steps in your RVezy account. Lock in your dates now while the best rigs are still open.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Granville RV trip?
Yes, central Ohio is wonderfully dog-friendly and so is RVezy. To find a pet-friendly RV rental in Granville, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see rigs whose owners welcome four-legged travelers. Many Granville-area campgrounds love dogs too: the leash-friendly trails at Dawes Arboretum just south of town make morning walks a joy, and Alum Creek State Park has a popular dog park and dog beach where your pup can swim. Bring a current vaccination record, pack a tie-out and water bowl, and message your host before booking if you have a larger breed. Your dog might love this trip more than you do.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioCan the RV be delivered to my campsite near Granville?
Yes, RV delivery in Granville is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who would rather skip driving a big rig. Many hosts will deliver the motorhome or travel trailer straight to campgrounds like Buckeye Lake KOA or even your friend's driveway in the village, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees are set by each host based on distance and RV type, and you'll see them clearly on the listing. Filter by Delivery in your search to find hosts who offer it. Pro tip: a delivered rig is a stress-free way to enjoy a Granville RV trip without ever touching the steering wheel.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioHow far can I drive on a Granville RV trip, and how does mileage work?
Granville sits in a sweet spot for road trips, with quick access to Interstate 70 and State Route 16, so even a short rental covers a lot of memorable ground. Hocking Hills State Park is about 75 miles south, Amish Country around Berlin is around 60 miles northeast, Cleveland is roughly 140 miles north, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park is about 130 miles away. Each host sets their own mileage policy, with many offering 100 to 150 free miles per night and some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for an RV road trip from Granville to Lake Erie. Check the mileage allowance on each listing before you book, and message the host if you're planning a longer route. Extra miles are usually 30 to 50 cents each, easy to budget upfront.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioWhere are the best campgrounds near Granville, OH?
Granville is surrounded by excellent campgrounds, from full-hookup resorts to peaceful state parks. The top picks for RV camping in Granville include Buckeye Lake/Columbus East KOA in Hebron (about 10 miles south, pool and family activities), Dillon State Park in Nashport (around 25 miles east, electric sites on a quiet reservoir), Alum Creek State Park near Delaware (about 40 miles west, big beach and full hookups), and Hocking Hills State Park (about 75 miles south, gateway to waterfalls and caves). Reserve Ohio state park sites at reserveohio.com and private parks directly through their websites. Insider tip: Dillon's wooded sites are central Ohio's best-kept camping secret.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/campgroundsWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip from Granville?
Late April through late October is the prime window for RV camping in Granville, with September and early October stealing the show thanks to Welsh Hills foliage and crisp 60 to 70 degree days. Summer (June to August) brings warm 80 to 85 degree highs, lush green scenery, and active campground pools, though humidity can climb. Spring delivers wildflowers at Dawes Arboretum and fewer crowds. Some private parks stay open year-round with full hookups for hardy RVers who want to ice-fish Buckeye Lake or see the village dusted in snow. Pro tip: book early-October weekends 4 to 6 months out, because Ohio leaf-peepers fill state park campgrounds fast.
weather.gov/iln/Is it really okay if it's my first time renting an RV in Granville?
Definitely, first time renting an RV is the norm on RVezy, not the exception, and Granville is a gentle place to learn. Every host meets you at pickup (or at delivery) for a hands-on walkthrough covering the generator, slide-outs, propane, tanks, and electrical hookups, so you're never left to figure things out alone. The roads around Granville are mostly flat, rural, and easy to navigate, making them great practice before tackling anything bigger. Start with a shorter Class C motorhome or a campervan rental in Granville if you're nervous about size. Pro tip: book a delivered rig for your first trip. The host sets it up, you just unlock the door, pour the coffee, and enjoy.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my Granville trip?
You're never on your own. Every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on US Route 40 or a dead battery at Dillon State Park is just one phone call away from getting solved. The roadside team can dispatch tire service, jump-starts, lockout help, fuel delivery, and towing throughout central Ohio. Your host is also typically just a text away with system-specific tips, since they know their rig better than anyone. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before you leave, and keep the listing's reference number handy. Pro tip: check all tires for proper pressure at the gas station before leaving Granville, since underinflated tires are a common cause of roadside issues.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take a Granville RV rental on a longer road trip across state lines?
Yes, your RV rental in Ohio travels freely across U.S. state lines, opening up some incredible RV road trip routes from Granville. Popular itineraries include heading east on Interstate 70 to the Pittsburgh area (about 175 miles), south through Hocking Hills toward the Great Smoky Mountains (about 400 miles), or northwest to Michigan's Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 450 miles). Travel into Canada is sometimes allowed with host approval and insurance confirmation, so message the host before booking if Niagara Falls is on your list. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan does not extend there. Pro tip: check your host's mileage policy first, since long-haul trips quickly add up on the odometer.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on a Granville RV trip?
Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to plan for in central Ohio. Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, 15 to 20 MPG for a Class B campervan, and around 12 to 16 MPG for the tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer. Ohio gas prices typically run near or below the national average, with diesel and regular widely available at Pilot, Love's, and Speedway along Interstate 70 just south of Granville. For a typical 300-mile weekend loop to Hocking Hills and back, plan on roughly $80 to $150 in fuel for a motorhome. Pro tip: fill up in Heath or Newark before heading into rural areas where prices climb.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far ahead should I book a campground near Granville?
For the best campgrounds near Granville, plan ahead. Ohio State Park sites at Dillon, Alum Creek, and Hocking Hills open for reservations up to 6 months in advance through reserveohio.com, and summer holiday weekends fill within hours. Private parks like Buckeye Lake KOA typically take bookings many months out and sell out fastest for July 4th, Labor Day, and October leaf-peeping weekends. For mid-week summer or any weekend in May or September, 4 to 6 weeks notice usually works fine. Pro tip: if your dream Ohio state park site shows sold out, set up a free cancellation alert. Cancellations happen daily and you'll often snag a prime spot within a week.
reserveohio.com/What are the driving conditions like around Granville?
Driving an RV around Granville is refreshingly mellow compared to most metro areas. State Route 16 connects Granville straight to Interstate 70 and Columbus with wide lanes and gentle grades, and US Route 40 (the historic National Road) offers a scenic alternative. Village streets in downtown Granville are tight and tree-lined, with low-hanging branches on Broadway, so larger Class A motorhomes are better parked at a campground while you explore on foot. Winter brings occasional snow and ice from December through February, so check the forecast and drive cautiously after storms. Pro tip: be aware of low railroad underpasses near Newark; stick to State Route 16 or Interstate 70 if your rig is tall, and confirm clearance on your route.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/ohgoWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Granville?
Campgrounds near Granville range from full-service resorts to rustic state-park sites, but you'll generally find what you need close by. Buckeye Lake KOA includes full hookups, propane refill on-site, and laundry. Dillon State Park has electric sites with a centralized dump station and potable water fill near the camp office. Alum Creek State Park offers full-hookup sites along with electric-only options. Most central Ohio parks have flush toilets, hot showers, and a camp store for ice and firewood. Dump stations are also available at travel centers along Interstate 70 for a small fee. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the campground, since rural fill stations between parks are rare.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/campgroundsWhat's actually inside a typical Granville RV rental?
You'll be impressed at how well-equipped these rigs are. Most RVs on RVezy near Granville include a queen or king bed, dinette and sofa that convert to extra sleeping space, a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, air conditioning, furnace, propane hookups, and seatbelts for travel passengers. Many include a generator, outdoor speakers, awning, leveling jacks, and a TV with antenna or streaming setup. Wi-Fi varies, since rural Ohio cell coverage can be patchy near Dawes Arboretum, so plan around limited connectivity in the woods. Each listing spells out exactly what's included. Pro tip: filter by sleeps count to match your group size, and message the host about adding camp chairs or a fire pit.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioWhat add-ons and pickup options should I know about?
Granville hosts on RVezy offer a great mix of convenient add-ons to customize your trip. Popular extras include linen and towel packages, kitchen kits with pots and dishes, generator usage, portable grills, bike racks, and pre-stocked firewood bundles, all priced clearly on each listing. Pickup is typically at the host's home or driveway in or around Granville, Newark, or Heath, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Drop-off works the same way at the agreed time. Mileage policies vary, so review them before booking and ask about unlimited mileage if you're planning a longer family RV trip from Granville to Niagara Falls or the Smokies. Pro tip: bundle the linen and kitchen kits to save unpacking time.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Granville,OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work for a Granville RV rental?
Payment is simple, secure, and fully online through RVezy, so there's no cash exchange at pickup. You'll pay for your booking through the platform using a major credit or debit card, and that total includes the protection plan, taxes, and any add-ons you've selected. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment, with the amount varying by host and rig (commonly $500 to $1,500 for motorhomes near Granville). The deposit is released after your trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid issues, take time-stamped photos of the interior, exterior, and odometer at pickup and drop-off. Pro tip: dump tanks and refuel before returning to skip cleaning and fuel fees.
