Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Navarre, OH
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Navarre, OH?
RV rental in Navarre is one of the most affordable ways to explore northeast Ohio. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $75 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes from $150 to $275, and larger Class A rigs from $225 to $400 nightly. Because Navarre sits in a smaller Stark County market, prices often run lower than nearby Cleveland or Columbus. To score a cheap RV rental in Navarre, book midweek, aim for spring or fall shoulder dates, and use the price filter to sort by budget. Many hosts also reduce nightly rates for stays of 5+ nights, so a week-long booking can stretch your budget further.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Navarre%2C%20OhioWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Navarre, Ohio?
A standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Navarre, Ohio. Ohio does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers, including larger Class A rigs. On RVezy, approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and your ID is verified through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto club along with your home license. Most first-time renters are pleasantly surprised by how straightforward the process is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Navarre includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with peace of mind. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your coverage tier at checkout. If you get a flat near Wilmot, a dead battery at Atwood Lake, or a mechanical hiccup on US-62, one call connects you with help any time of day or night. Pick the coverage level that fits your comfort, and go enjoy your Ohio Amish Country adventure.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my plans change?
Booking your Navarre RV trip is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every booking includes a grace period right after you confirm during which you can cancel for a full refund. After the grace period, refund amounts depend on how far out your trip is and the circumstances. If a host cancels, guests receive a refund or travel credit. Because Ohio weather can swing fast in spring and late fall, it's reassuring to know flexibility is built in. Lock in your dates early for the best selection, and review the current cancellation details at checkout before you confirm.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on my Navarre RV trip?
Yes, pet-friendly RV rentals in Navarre are easy to find on RVezy. Toggle the Pet-Friendly filter when you search and you'll see only rigs whose hosts welcome four-legged co-pilots. Once you're on the road, there are great pup-friendly spots nearby: Quail Hollow Park in Hartville has shaded trails, and the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail runs near Navarre with miles of leashed-dog walking. Atwood Lake Park also allows leashed pets in day-use areas. Tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee, and note the vet clinics in Massillon, about 10 minutes north, in case you need one.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/state-parksCan the RV be delivered to me in Navarre?
Yes, and it's the easiest way to start your trip. Many RV delivery hosts in Navarre will drive the motorhome or travel trailer right to your campground, a family member's driveway, or an event site, then level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before leaving. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer this option, along with their delivery radius and fee. Popular drop-off spots include Atwood Lake Park, Sippo Lake Park near Massillon, and private properties near Wilmot for Amish Country weddings. Delivery is a game-changer for first-time renters, you simply show up with groceries and start your vacation.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Navarre%2C%20OhioHow far can I drive, and what are the mileage policies?
You've got plenty of road to explore. Most Navarre RV hosts include a daily mileage allowance (commonly 100 to 150 miles per day), and many offer unlimited-mileage packages or add-ons, perfect for longer Ohio loops. Each listing clearly shows the included miles and the per-mile rate for anything extra. From Navarre, you're about 15 miles to Canton, 60 miles to Cleveland, 80 miles to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and about 130 miles to Lake Erie's Marblehead Peninsula, all easily doable on a standard mileage plan. Tip: if you're planning a longer trip through Amish Country and into the Hocking Hills (about 130 miles south), look for hosts offering unlimited-mile pricing to keep your budget predictable.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Navarre%2C%20OhioWhere are the best campgrounds near Navarre, OH?
You're spoiled for choice with great campgrounds near Navarre. Top picks include Atwood Lake Park (about 25 miles southeast) with electric sites, a marina, and a sandy beach; Sippo Lake Park near Massillon for quiet wooded day-use and nearby private camping; Bear Creek Resort KOA in Wilmot, perfect for Amish Country exploring; and Tappan Lake Park, a Muskingum Watershed gem with electric sites and excellent fishing. For state-park camping, Portage Lakes State Park near Akron (about 35 miles north) offers electric sites. Tip: Muskingum Watershed campgrounds open reservations well in advance and fill quickly for summer weekends, so book your spot as soon as your RVezy dates are confirmed.
mwcd.org/places/parks-campgroundsWhen is the best time to visit Navarre, Ohio in an RV?
Late May through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Navarre, with daytime highs typically from 70F to 85F and warm evenings perfect for campfires. September and early October are arguably the best of all: Amish Country foliage turns red and gold, crowds thin, and temperatures sit in a comfortable 60s-to-70s range. Summer (June to August) brings the warmest weather and full campground amenities but also classic Ohio afternoon thunderstorms, so check radar before driving. Winter rentals are available, though many state-park campgrounds close November through April. Tip: aim for the last weekend in September to catch peak fall colors plus harvest festivals in Sugarcreek and Berlin, about 25 minutes south of Navarre.
weather.gov/cle/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?
You're going to do great, and you're in good company. Many guests booking an RV rental in Navarre are first-time RV renters, and the RVezy experience is built around that. Every host provides a full orientation at pickup (or at delivery), walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water, propane, awning, and dump procedures, and they stay reachable by phone or message during your trip. You'll also have 24/7 roadside assistance included with every booking through the protection plan. Tip: for a confidence-boosting first trip, choose a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer and stay at a nearby Muskingum Watershed park so you're close to home base while you learn the ropes.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You're covered around the clock. Every Navarre RV booking on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so a flat tire on US-30, a dead battery at Tappan Lake, or an engine warning light on I-77 is just one phone call away from help. The roadside team handles towing, jump-starts, lockouts, tire service, and fuel delivery wherever you are in Ohio. Your host is also a direct message away for quick questions about the rig's specific quirks. Tip: during your walkthrough, snap photos of the tire pressure sticker and propane shut-off location, that 30-second habit makes any roadside call faster.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best RV road trips from Navarre, OH?
Navarre is a perfect launchpad for an Ohio RV road trip into both nature and small-town culture. Top routes: 1) Amish Country Loop, about 25 miles southwest through Berlin, Sugarcreek, and Walnut Creek for cheese factories and buggy roads; 2) Cuyahoga Valley National Park, about 80 miles north, with the Towpath Trail and Brandywine Falls; 3) Lake Erie via Sandusky, about 110 miles north, with Cedar Point and ferry rides to Put-in-Bay; 4) Hocking Hills State Park, about 130 miles south, for waterfalls and cliff hiking; 5) Mohican State Park, about 50 miles west, for canoeing the Mohican River. Cross-border travel into Canada requires host approval, and Mexico travel is not permitted on RVezy bookings. Tip: do the Amish Country loop midweek to avoid Saturday tourist traffic.
nps.gov/cuva/index.htmWhat kind of fuel economy should I expect, and what does gas cost in Ohio?
Ohio is one of the more wallet-friendly states for fueling up an RV. Gas prices around Navarre typically track close to the national average for regular unleaded at stations along US-30 and I-77. Realistic MPG: campervans and Class B rigs get 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes around 8 to 12 MPG, Class A gas rigs 6 to 9 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically 10 to 14 MPG. For a 300-mile weekend in a Class C, budget roughly $100 to $140 in fuel depending on current prices. Tip: Pilot and Love's truck stops near Strasburg and along I-71 have RV-friendly pump lanes with high clearance, much easier than squeezing into a standard gas station.
gasprices.aaa.com/state-gas-price-averages/How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Navarre?
Book early to get your pick of the best sites. Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District parks (Atwood, Tappan, Charles Mill) open reservations well in advance and prime summer weekends often sell out by spring. Ohio State Parks use ReserveOhio and accept bookings months ahead, filling quickly for July and August. Private parks like Bear Creek Resort KOA in Wilmot take reservations year-round, often with shorter lead time. Tip: confirm your RVezy rig first, then immediately book your campground, doing it in that order avoids the heartbreak of a great campsite you can't actually use. For last-minute trips, midweek availability is usually wide open even in peak summer.
reserveohio.usedirect.com/OhioWeb/What are the driving conditions like around Navarre?
Driving an RV around Navarre is refreshingly stress-free. The town sits at the junction of US-62 and State Route 21, both well-maintained roads with gentle rolling terrain, no mountain passes, and lighter traffic than Cleveland or Columbus. I-77 is just a few miles east for fast travel north to Akron or south to Cambridge. Watch for two local specifics: slow-moving Amish buggies on rural routes through Holmes County to the south, and occasional lake-effect snow squalls November through March if you're winter camping. Check posted bridge heights along the Tuscarawas River corridor and confirm your rig's clearance before any low-bridge routing.
transportation.ohio.gov/What hookups and amenities do local campgrounds offer?
You'll find excellent amenities at campgrounds near Navarre. Most full-service parks like Atwood Lake Park and Bear Creek Resort KOA offer 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups at premium sites, plus dump stations, showers, laundry, and Wi-Fi at the office. Ohio State Parks typically offer electric sites with a central dump station and potable water fill, Portage Lakes and Mohican are good examples. Need to dump or refill mid-trip? Many Pilot Flying J truck stops along I-77 have dump stations, and some county fairgrounds in Stark and Tuscarawas counties offer day-use dumping. Tip: ask your host to top off fresh water before pickup so you can comfortably boondock the first night before plugging in.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/state-parksWhat's inside the RVs available in Navarre?
Today's rentals are basically apartments on wheels. A typical motorhome rental in Navarre on RVezy includes a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa sleepers (most rigs sleep 4 to 8), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, an enclosed bathroom with toilet and shower, roof A/C, furnace heat, and seatbelts for every passenger. Many rigs also include a flat-screen TV, onboard generator, outdoor speakers, and Wi-Fi hotspots, perfect for family RV trips with kids. Campervan rentals (Class B) are more compact but still include a bed, kitchenette, and often a wet bath. Tip: filter by sleep count and amenities to match your group's needs.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Navarre%2C%20OhioWhat add-ons can I get, and how does pickup or drop-off work?
Hosts in Navarre offer plenty of extras that make trips easier. Common add-ons include linen and towel packages, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, kitchen kits, bike racks, generators, propane fills, and pet packages, each priced clearly on the listing. Pickup is typically at the host's location in or near Navarre, with a 45-to-60-minute walkthrough so you leave confident. Many hosts also offer delivery to local campgrounds, with fees and radius shown on the page. Drop-off mirrors pickup: return it fueled, with tanks empty if required, at the agreed time. Tip: ask about the generator add-on if you're heading to Mohican or Tappan Lake non-electric sites, it turns any campsite into a full-power basecamp.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Navarre%2C%20OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment is simple and secure, all handled through RVezy, never cash or off-platform transfers. You'll pay your trip total at booking using a credit or debit card, and a refundable security deposit is held (not charged) before pickup, typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the rig's value. As long as you return the RV in the same condition, the hold is released after your trip. To avoid deposit issues: do a thorough walkthrough with the host at pickup, take date-stamped photos inside and out, and report anything unusual immediately through RVezy messaging so everything's documented. Tip: use a credit card rather than debit so the deposit hold doesn't tie up funds in your checking account.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhere can I park an RV overnight in and around Navarre?
You've got plenty of legal overnight options near Navarre. Established campgrounds are your best bet: Atwood Lake Park, Tappan Lake Park, and Bear Creek Resort KOA all welcome overnight RVs with hookups. For travel days, some Walmart and Cracker Barrel locations in the Massillon and Canton area permit overnight RV parking with a courtesy call to the manager, always confirm with the specific store first. Ohio rest areas on I-77 and I-71 allow short rest stops per posted signage. Avoid residential streets in Navarre village proper, as on-street RV parking is restricted overnight. Tip: for a memorable free stay, look into Harvest Hosts, several wineries and Amish Country farms near Sugarcreek participate and offer one-night stays for members.
