We rented this trailer from David for a work event/music festival and it was absolutely amazing. The air conditioning alone was enough to make the entire process SO worth it in the 90 degree summer heat. We had an amazing time and wish we would have had the time and days to use more of the amenities he offered!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Spencer, OH
How much does it cost to rent an RV in Spencer, OH?
RV rental in Spencer, OH is one of the most affordable ways to explore northeast Ohio, with most travel trailers and pop-ups renting for about $100 to $200 per night and Class C and Class A motorhomes typically $200 to $375 per night. Because RVezy hosts set their own pricing, you can filter by budget and find a cheap RV rental in Spencer that fits your trip. Booking midweek or in May or September often unlocks better rates than peak July weekends. Pro tip: bundle add-ons like camp chairs, a generator, or linens into your booking instead of buying them separately, and you will save real money on your Spencer RV trip.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Spencer,OhioWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Spencer, OH?
Good news: a regular Ohio driver's license (or any valid US or Canadian license) is all you need to rent an RV in Spencer, OH. There is no special RV endorsement or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required for the Class A, Class B, Class C, travel trailer, or fifth wheel rentals on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally required to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID through the platform during booking, so the process is smooth and contactless. Visiting from outside North America? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your home license. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the licensing side really is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental in Spencer, OH covered by insurance and roadside assistance?
Every booking on RVezy automatically includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so your Spencer RV trip is covered from the moment you drive off. The protection plan helps cover accidental damage to the RV, giving you real peace of mind whether you are heading to Findley State Park or down to Amish Country. During checkout, you choose the level of protection that fits your comfort, so you stay in control. If you get a flat on State Route 162 or a battery dies at the campground, one phone call gets help dispatched. That safety net is a big reason first-timers feel confident booking a motorhome rental in Spencer.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionWhat happens if I need to cancel my Spencer RV rental?
Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a standard cancellation policy that applies to every reservation, so it is not up to the individual host. After you book, refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date, and RVezy can also help with circumstances like severe weather, which northeast Ohio can occasionally see in winter. You will see the full policy details and timelines clearly during checkout and in your RVezy account. Pro tip: if a Lake Erie snowstorm or severe thunderstorm warning threatens your trip, contact RVezy support right away so they can walk you through your options.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Spencer, OH?
Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Spencer, OH is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see motorhomes and travel trailers from local hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) on board. Many Spencer-area campgrounds, including Findley State Park, allow leashed pets on most sites and trails, so your pup gets to enjoy the trip too. Pack a leash, vaccination records, waste bags, and a familiar blanket to keep things stress-free. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and to ask about the best dog-friendly trails around Medina County, like the loops at Buckeye Woods Park.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/findley-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Spencer, OH?
Yes, RV delivery in Spencer is one of the most popular options, especially for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV directly to Findley State Park or even your driveway, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just use the Delivery filter when browsing listings to see hosts who offer this service. Delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host's location, so closer hosts in Medina, Lodi, or Wellington often cost less. Pro tip: ask your host about a full setup package so you arrive to a ready-to-camp RV and start your weekend with zero stress.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Spencer,OhioHow does mileage work, and how far can I drive on a Spencer RV trip?

Each RVezy host sets their own mileage policy, and many offer generous daily allowances or even RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is perfect if you want to road trip across Ohio. From Spencer, Cleveland is about 45 miles northeast, Cedar Point in Sandusky is roughly 65 miles north, Amish Country around Berlin is about 50 miles south, and Cuyahoga Valley National Park is around 50 miles east. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Spencer,OhioWhere can I stay with my RV near Spencer, OH?
You have a great mix of campgrounds within a short drive of Spencer. Findley State Park (about 7 miles west near Wellington) offers electric sites, a swimming beach, and quiet wooded loops on Findley Lake. Hidden Lakes Campground in nearby Medina County offers full-hookup sites and family activities. KOA campgrounds and private parks in the surrounding area provide pull-throughs, pools, and amenities for families. Pro tip: book Findley State Park early through the official reserveohio.com system, since lakeside sites for summer weekends sell out months ahead.
ohiodnr.gov/go-and-do/plan-a-visit/find-a-property/findley-state-parkWhen is the best time to visit Spencer, OH in an RV?
Late May through early October is the sweet spot for RV camping in Spencer, with summer highs in the upper 70s to mid 80s Fahrenheit and comfortably cool nights in the 50s and 60s. June and September are local favorites: warm days, fewer bugs, and easier campground reservations. October brings beautiful fall color across Medina County and the nearby Mohican area, making it a quieter time for a motorhome rental in Spencer. Winters in northeast Ohio are cold and snowy with lows often in the 20s, so most campgrounds close from mid-October to April. Pro tip: aim for the second or third week of October to catch peak foliage on a crisp, sunny RV weekend.
weather.gov/cle/I'm first time renting an RV. What support will I get in Spencer, OH?
You are in great hands. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup (or at delivery), walking you through the generator, slide-outs, water tanks, propane, leveling, and the dashboard, so you never feel left to figure it out alone. Many Spencer-area hosts specialize in first-timers and will even text you a quick-reference video before your trip. The flat farmland roads around Medina County are forgiving for new RV drivers, and quiet county routes make great practice loops before heading to a busier campground. Add in 24/7 RVezy roadside support, and your worry list shrinks fast. Pro tip: ask your host to demo dumping tanks at pickup. It is much easier than it looks.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy rental in Spencer includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, so if you get a flat on Interstate 71, a dead battery at the campground, or a propane issue at Findley State Park, one phone call gets help moving. The roadside team can dispatch tire service, jumpstarts, lockout help, fuel delivery, and towing across Ohio. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app for system-specific questions like resetting the inverter or relighting the water heater. Pro tip: save the RVezy support number in your phone before you leave the driveway, and snap photos of the RV's VIN and license plate just in case.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat's a great RV road trip from Spencer, OH?
An RV road trip from Spencer puts some of the Midwest's best destinations within easy reach. Head about 50 miles east to Cuyahoga Valley National Park for waterfalls and the Towpath Trail. Drive about 65 miles north to Cedar Point and the Lake Erie islands for a classic Ohio summer weekend. Roll about 50 miles south into Amish Country around Berlin and Walnut Creek for buggies, cheese, and rolling farmland. Push 160 miles southeast to Pittsburgh, or about 250 miles to Niagara Falls for a long-weekend loop. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host, so message them first to confirm. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: build in a stop at Mohican State Park on the way home.
nps.gov/cuva/index.htmWhat kind of fuel mileage should I expect, and how should I budget?
Budgeting fuel for a Spencer RV trip is straightforward once you know the math. Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (mpg) on gas, Class A motorhomes 6 to 10 mpg, and campervans 14 to 20 mpg. If you tow a travel trailer with your own truck, expect a 20 to 30 percent drop from your normal mileage. Ohio gas prices generally hover near the national average, with stations along US-224 and Interstate 71 offering convenient fill-ups. For a 4-day, 300-mile loop in a Class C, plan on about $120 to $180 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Lodi or Medina before heading deeper into rural Wayne County, where stations are spaced further apart.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Spencer, OH?
For the best campgrounds near Spencer, plan to book 3 to 6 months ahead for summer weekends. Findley State Park and other Ohio state parks use the official reservation system at reserveohio.com, which opens bookings up to 6 months in advance, and prime lakeside sites fill quickly for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Private parks in the area tend to take reservations directly by phone or website, often 2 to 3 months ahead. Midweek stays are much easier to grab last minute. Pro tip: if your dates are flexible, search Sunday through Thursday and you will often find open sites the same week.
reserveohio.com/What are driving conditions like around Spencer, OH?
Driving an RV in and around Spencer is genuinely easy. The area sits in flat-to-gently-rolling farmland in western Medina County, with quiet two-lane routes like State Route 162, State Route 301, and US-224 connecting you to bigger highways. Interstate 71 is just a short drive east, giving you a fast straight shot to Cleveland or Columbus. Watch for Amish horse-drawn buggies on rural roads south toward Wayne and Holmes counties, and slow down for them. Winter brings lake-effect snow squalls from Lake Erie between November and March, so most renters stick to spring through fall. Pro tip: if you are nervous about urban driving in Cleveland, ask your host about RV delivery in Spencer so you can skip the highway entirely.
transportation.ohio.gov/programs/ohgoWhat amenities will I find at campgrounds near Spencer, OH?
Campgrounds near Spencer are well-equipped for a comfortable family RV trip. Most private parks in the area offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), hot showers, laundry, dump stations, and Wi-Fi at the office. Findley State Park has electric sites, modern restrooms with showers, potable water fill stations, and a centralized dump station near the campground exit. Many parks also include swimming, fishing, playgrounds, and seasonal events. If you need to dump and fill water mid-trip, Findley State Park welcomes non-guests for a small fee. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 25-foot sewer hose, since some pull-through sites have hookups further from the pad than expected.

Many include a TV, air conditioning, furnace, propane, and dash or cabin USB outlets. Some hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, generators, or solar setups as paid add-ons. Every motorhome on the platform has seatbelted seats for travel, and each listing clearly shows sleep count and seatbelt count. Pro tip: filter listings by Sleeps 6 (or whatever fits your group) to make sure everyone has both a bed and a buckle for your campervan rental in Spencer.

rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Spencer,OhioHow does payment and the security deposit work?
Payment for your RV rental in Spencer, OH is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, and your booking total (rental, fees, protection plan, and add-ons) is shown clearly before you confirm. Each listing displays a security deposit amount that is pre-authorized (held, not charged) on your card a few days before pickup and released after the trip, assuming no damage or policy violations. Treat the RV like your own and you will get the full hold released back quickly. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a short walk-around video at both pickup and drop-off. It is the easiest way to keep your deposit refund smooth and fast.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Spencer RV rental into Canada or other states?
Multi-state RV road trips from Spencer are very doable, and many hosts welcome travel across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and New York for routes like Niagara Falls (about 250 miles) or the Smoky Mountains (about 500 miles). Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the specific host and insurance setup, so always message the host directly through the listing before booking to confirm and to make sure paperwork is ready for the border. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: bring your passport, vehicle registration copy, and a host-signed cross-border letter if you are heading to Ontario for a Niagara weekend.
