My family had a great time in the RV at a campsite in North Texas. The unit was very clean and spacious. They provide all essential needs within the unit and it was very easy to drive to the location. Olton walked through everything with me before heading out and hooking up the unit. I appreciate how friendly and accommodating he was and his responsiveness in communication.

2019 Keystone Travel Trailer
Scott was a great host and very communicative, VERY responsive. My family used the camper for a short weekend trip near by. Towed the camper with our 18 GMC 1500 and it towed great. The oven worked great to cook cinnamon rolls, the Blackstone in the outside kitchen was great for smash burgers, tacos and breakfast. Very convenient to have a sink outside too! Perfect size for a family of 4 with small children. Would recommend finding a short list of "what to bring" for RV extras. Rugs for outside and in are a must with little children and a few extra towels to clean up around. Bring bedding, we did great with 3 sets of queen sheets and blankets. Bring a night light, most of the lighting in the trailer is quite bright. If you like it dark blackout curtains are a must for the, a great feature of the trailer is the amount of windows! (LOVED THE NATRUAL LIGHT). The only negative was the smell. We have a very sensitive nose when it comes cigarette smoke. We could tell at one time someone had smoked in the trailer. The smell dissipated once we opened some windows and ran the AC at 100%, it required air movement. Overall: Great trailer, fantastic floor plan, great host.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Commerce, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Commerce, TX?

RV rental in Commerce is one of the most affordable ways to explore Northeast Texas. Travel trailers typically start around $80 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275, and larger Class A rigs run $250 to $400. Because hosts on RVezy set their own pricing, you can find cheap RV rental Commerce options by booking midweek or outside Texas A&M University-Commerce graduation weekends. What license do I need to rent an RV in Commerce, TX?

Great news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Commerce, no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement is required, even for the largest Class A motorhome on the platform. You must be 25 or older and upload your license through RVezy's quick ID confirmation when you book. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home-country license. Most first-time renters in Hunt County are surprised by how simple it is, and the host walks you through every system at pickup so you leave feeling confident behind the wheel.

Is my RV rental in Commerce covered by insurance and roadside assistance?

The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV and gives you real financial peace of mind. During checkout, you choose the protection tier that fits your trip. What happens if I need to cancel my Commerce RV rental?

Booking your RV rental in Commerce is genuinely low risk. RVezy sets and manages the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there is a grace-period window after booking when you can cancel for a full refund. After that, your refund depends on how far out you cancel and the circumstances. You will see the full policy details on the RVezy site and during checkout. Pro tip: book early for Cooper Lake summer weekends, because Texas A&M-Commerce parents' weekends fill up the best RVs first.

Can I bring my dog on an RV trip from Commerce, TX?

Cooper Lake State Park's Doctors Creek and South Sulphur units both allow leashed pets on trails and campsites. Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Commerce?

Yes, RV delivery in Commerce is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who would rather not drive a 30-foot motorhome down US-380. Many local hosts will deliver and fully set up your RV at Cooper Lake State Park or a private property in town, then walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees are typically based on mileage from the host's location, and you will see a flat rate or per-mile quote right on the listing. Pro tip: filter by Delivery and Instant Book to lock in a stress-free arrival.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Commerce, TX?

I have never driven an RV. Will I be okay renting one in Commerce?

You will do great, and Commerce is one of the easiest places in Texas to learn. The roads around Hunt County are flat, wide, and lightly trafficked compared to Dallas-Fort Worth, so first time renting an RV here feels manageable from minute one. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, covering propane, slide-outs, tanks, hitching, and backing up, and most are happy to answer texts during your trip. If you are nervous, book delivery so the host parks and levels it for you at Cooper Lake. Start with a travel trailer under 25 feet or a Class C motorhome for the friendliest learning curve.

What if something breaks down during my Commerce RV trip?

You are never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on TX-24, a dead battery at South Sulphur Unit, or a tow off I-30 is one phone call away. Your host is also your first line of support, and most reply quickly by text and can troubleshoot things like awning quirks or generator starts on the spot. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV's exterior, propane gauge, and odometer at pickup, which makes any claim faster and keeps your security deposit return smooth.

Can I take my Commerce RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?

Crossing into Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana is doable and very popular for an RV road trip from Commerce. Confirm the travel area with your host before you book, since each host sets the allowed travel area on the listing. Broken Bow, OK is about a 2-hour drive, Hot Springs, AR is about 5 hours, and Caddo Lake on the Texas-Louisiana line is about 2.5 hours away. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage does not extend across the border. Message the host directly with your planned route, and they will confirm in minutes and often share their favorite stops along the way.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Commerce RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable in your budget, but Texas has some of the lowest gas prices in the country, which makes a Commerce RV trip wallet-friendly. Expect roughly 7 to 10 miles per gallon for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, and 15 to 20 MPG when towing a travel trailer with a half-ton truck. With gas stations in Commerce, Greenville, and Sulphur Springs typically running below the national average, a weekend round trip to Cooper Lake (about 40 miles) costs only a few gallons. Pro tip: the Buc-ee's in Royse City (about 30 minutes west) is often among the cheapest fuel stops in the region.

How far in advance should I reserve a campsite near Commerce?

For Cooper Lake State Park, book your campsite as soon as you lock in your RV. Texas Parks and Wildlife opens reservations up to 5 months in advance through their official reservation site, and summer weekends at Doctors Creek and South Sulphur fill fast. Private parks usually have more flexibility and accept reservations 1 to 2 weeks out. For Texas A&M-Commerce homecoming and graduation weekends (typically May and December), book at least 2 months ahead. Pro tip: midweek nights almost always have availability, even in peak spring, and rates can be 20 to 30 percent lower.

What are driving conditions like around Commerce, TX?

Driving an RV around Commerce is refreshingly easy. The roads are flat, well-maintained, and far less congested than the Dallas metroplex. The main routes (US-69, TX-24, TX-11, TX-50, and I-30 to the south) all have wide shoulders and are RV-friendly. Watch for sudden spring thunderstorms with hail and high winds from April through June, which is the main weather hazard. Country roads can flood briefly during heavy rain, so check the National Weather Service Fort Worth office forecast before you head out. Local tip: avoid downtown Commerce streets near the Texas A&M-Commerce campus on weekday afternoons, where side streets are tight and lined with parked cars.

If you need to dump tanks on a travel day, the dump stations at Cooper Lake and most private parks are open to paid campers, with day-use dumping available for a small fee at some private parks. Pro tip: top off fresh water in Commerce before heading to any state park to avoid lines on busy Friday afternoons.

How does payment and the security deposit work for an RV rental in Commerce?

Payment is simple and fully handled through RVezy. Never pay a host directly. You will be charged the rental total (nightly rate, fees, protection package, and any add-ons) when you book, with the security deposit pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup. The deposit is released back to you after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape, typically within a few days of drop-off. To keep your deposit safe, do a walkthrough video at pickup and return, follow the host's mileage and generator rules, and return the RV with tanks dumped and fuel topped off as agreed.
