Our experience with Yeehaw rentals and the owner Darren was great. There was a lot of good communication. We understood what needed to be done. He delivered as requested in a timely manner and we were able to meet with him. Do a walk-through of the Trailer and ensure that everything was in good working order. Him and his partner showed us all the different working aspects of the inside of the trailer and the outside I would definitely rent with them again

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Granbury, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Granbury, TX?

Great news for budget-minded travelers: an RV rental in Granbury, TX typically runs $90 to $250 per night depending on the rig. Travel trailers and pop-ups sit at the lower end, Class C motorhomes land in the middle, and Class A motorhomes top the range. Because RVezy hosts are local owners, you'll often find rates well below national chains, especially Sunday through Thursday. To find a cheap RV rental in Granbury, book outside the Lake Granbury summer high season (June through August), travel midweek, and look for hosts offering free generator hours or starter packs included. Pro tip: filter for travel trailers if you already have a truck capable of towing 7,000 to 10,000 pounds. You'll save significantly compared to a drivable motorhome rental.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Granbury?

Good news: a regular Texas Class C driver's license (the one you already have for your car) is all you need for nearly every RV rental in Granbury. Texas only requires a Non-Commercial Class B license if a single motorhome exceeds 26,000 pounds GVWR, and the overwhelming majority of RVs on RVezy fall well under that threshold. RVezy approved drivers must be 25 or older, and your ID is verified through the platform during checkout. Visiting from out of state or abroad? Your home license works in Texas, and international guests should grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) before flying in. That's it, you're cleared to cruise out to Lake Granbury.

What protection comes with my Granbury RV rental?

Every RVezy booking in Granbury includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 377 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. Coverage details and limits are outlined transparently on RVezy before you book, and it's built into your total price. Roadside support is one phone call away if you get a flat near Glen Rose or need help leveling at a campsite. Pro tip: choose a higher coverage tier if you're planning a longer Texas Hill Country loop, the extra peace of mind is worth the few dollars per night.

What if I need to cancel my Granbury RV trip?

Life happens, and RVezy makes it easy to adjust your plans. Cancellation policies are set by RVezy (not individual hosts), and you can review the full policy on the RVezy Help Center before and after booking. Refund amounts depend on how close you are to your trip start date, and the policy applies consistently across every booking. You'll see your specific cancellation terms during checkout and in your booking confirmation, so there are no surprises. Pro tip: if severe weather like a tornado watch or flash flood warning is issued for Hood County, contact RVezy support right away. The team is available before, during, and after every trip to help you navigate changes.

Can I bring my dog on a Granbury RV rental?

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Granbury is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see dozens of listings where your pup is welcome (some hosts charge a small pet cleaning fee, usually $25 to $75). Granbury is a wonderfully dog-friendly town: the Historic Granbury Square sidewalks, City Beach Park along Lake Granbury, and many patios on Pearl Street welcome leashed pets. Dinosaur Valley State Park, just 20 minutes away in Glen Rose, allows leashed dogs on every trail (6-foot leash max). Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm size or breed details, and pack a tie-out stake plus a collapsible water bowl for those hot Texas afternoons.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Granbury?

Yes, RV delivery in Granbury is one of the most popular options on the platform, and it's a game-changer if it's your first time renting an RV. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to your chosen spot, level it, hook up water, power, and sewer, and walk you through every system before they leave. Popular delivery destinations include Granbury RV Park on Mambrino Highway, Thorp Spring RV Park, and the Brazos River Authority's lakeside parks around Lake Granbury. Filter for Delivery on the search page to see exactly which listings offer it and the delivery fee (typically $2 to $4 per mile round trip). Pro tip: delivery is especially worth it for Class A motorhomes if you're nervous about backing into a tight site.

How does mileage work on a Granbury RV rental and how far can I really go?

Most Granbury hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with additional miles priced at $0.35 to $0.50 each, and a growing number of listings now offer RV rental with unlimited mileage (great for bigger road trips). From Granbury you're perfectly positioned: Fort Worth Stockyards is just 40 miles north, Waco's Magnolia Market is 75 miles southeast, Dallas is 75 miles northeast, and Austin sits about 200 miles south. A classic Granbury RV trip loop, Granbury to Glen Rose to Possum Kingdom Lake and back, runs about 180 miles total. Pro tip: estimate your route on Google Maps before booking and message the host for an unlimited-mileage quote if you'll exceed the included allowance, they often agree.

Where are the best campgrounds near Granbury for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Granbury. Granbury RV Park (on Mambrino Highway between Granbury and Glen Rose) offers full hookups, a pool, dog park, and 8-mile access to the Historic Square. Lake Granbury RV Resort is newly renovated with concrete pads and easy lake access. The Brazos River Authority operates several budget-friendly public-use parks right on Lake Granbury, including Rough Creek and Thorp Spring Park, with boat ramps and primitive sites. For something different, Cleburne State Park (about 35 miles east) has shaded sites and a fishing lake. Pro tip: many private parks fill up during the Granbury Wine Walk weekends and Independence Day fireworks on the lake, so book at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Granbury, TX?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Granbury is mid-March through late May, then again from mid-September through November. Spring delivers daytime highs in the 70s and low 80s with bluebonnets blooming along Highway 144, while fall brings comfortable 70 to 85 degree days and far fewer mosquitoes. Summer (June through August) is genuinely hot with highs averaging 95 to 100°F and a heat index that regularly tops 105°F, so look for RVs with strong air conditioning and consider sites with afternoon shade. Winters are mild with highs in the mid-50s, making Granbury a great snowbird-shoulder destination. Pro tip: book the Granbury Wine Walk weekend in late October or the Candlelight Tour in early December for a magical small-town Texas experience.

I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in Granbury beginner-friendly?

Granbury is one of the best places in North Texas for first time renting an RV. Roads are wide, traffic is light compared to Dallas or Fort Worth, and the drive to top destinations like Dinosaur Valley State Park is a flat, easy 20-minute cruise on Highway 144 and 67. Every RVezy host provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering propane, slide-outs, leveling, the freshwater system, and dumping the tanks, and you can text them throughout your trip with questions. If you're truly nervous, book a Class B campervan or a 20-foot travel trailer rather than a 35-foot Class A. Pro tip: do a short practice loop on backroads near Acton or Pecan Plantation before merging onto Highway 377, you'll feel like a pro within 30 minutes.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy rental in Granbury includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and out-of-fuel rescues. If a slide-out won't retract at Granbury RV Park or your fridge stops cooling near Possum Kingdom Lake, your first call is to the host (they know their rig best), and your second is to RVezy's support team, which is available before, during, and after your trip. Granbury also has RV service shops along Highway 377, plus Camping World service centers within an hour's drive. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you pull out of the driveway.

Where can I go on an RV road trip from Granbury?

Granbury is a fantastic launchpad for a Texas road trip. Popular RV road trip routes from Granbury include: Glen Rose and Dinosaur Valley State Park (20 miles, 30 minutes) for dinosaur tracks and Fossil Rim drive-through safari; Fort Worth Stockyards (40 miles, 50 minutes) for rodeos and BBQ; Possum Kingdom Lake (75 miles northwest) for cliff jumping and stunning sunsets; Waco's Magnolia Market and Cameron Park (75 miles southeast); and the Texas Hill Country wine trail around Fredericksburg (200 miles south, about 3.5 hours). Cross-border travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance doesn't extend there, but every U.S. state is fair game. Pro tip: combine Granbury, Glen Rose, and Possum Kingdom into a 4-day triangle, it's the perfect first Texas RV adventure.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Granbury RV trip?

Fuel is one of the biggest variables, so here's how to plan smart. In and around Granbury, regular unleaded typically runs about $2.80 to $3.20 per gallon (Texas is consistently among the cheapest states for gas), and diesel runs $3.20 to $3.60. A Class C motorhome averages 8 to 10 miles per gallon (mpg), a Class A gets 6 to 8 mpg, a Class B campervan delivers 15 to 20 mpg, and a truck towing a travel trailer averages 10 to 12 mpg. For a 300-mile loop from Granbury to Possum Kingdom and back in a Class C, budget around $90 to $110 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at the Buc-ee's in Terrell or the big stations off I-35 rather than small-town pumps, you'll save 20 to 40 cents per gallon.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Granbury?

For the best campgrounds near Granbury, plan ahead based on the season. Dinosaur Valley State Park sites open exactly 5 months ahead on the Texas State Parks reservation system and routinely sell out for weekends within minutes (group sites open 12 months ahead). Lake Granbury private parks like Granbury RV Park and Lake Granbury RV Resort typically need 4 to 6 weeks of lead time for summer weekends, and 1 to 2 weeks midweek or off-season. Brazos River Authority sites at Rough Creek and Thorp Spring are first-come, first-served and free for day use, so arrive early Friday. Pro tip: set a calendar alarm for exactly 5 months before your target Dinosaur Valley weekend and log in at 8 a.m. Central, that's when cancellations and new releases hit.

What are driving conditions like around Granbury?

Driving an RV around Granbury is refreshingly easy. Highway 377, the main artery, is a wide divided four-lane road with generous shoulders, and Highway 144 down to Glen Rose is a relaxed two-lane scenic route. The town itself has a historic square with brick streets, take Pearl or Houston Street around it rather than through it if you're in a 30-foot-plus rig. Watch for spring thunderstorms (March through June) that can bring sudden high winds and hail, and pull over if you see a tornado warning posted by NWS Fort Worth. Summer afternoons sometimes hit 100°F, so plan longer drives for morning. Pro tip: avoid driving through Fort Worth on Interstate 30 between 4 and 6:30 p.m. weekdays, take Loop 820 west instead.
weather.gov/fwd/

What hookups and amenities will I find at Granbury campgrounds?

Granbury-area campgrounds are RV-friendly and well-equipped. Most private parks like Granbury RV Park, Lake Granbury RV Resort, and 377 RV Park offer full hookups (30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer), free Wi-Fi, laundry, hot showers, and a dump station. Dinosaur Valley State Park has water-and-electric sites (no sewer) with a centralized dump station near the park entrance. To fill freshwater outside of campgrounds, the City of Granbury allows potable fill at Hewlett Park, and most local truck stops along Highway 377 have dump stations for a small fee. Pro tip: arrive with at least one-third of your freshwater tank already filled so you can level, hook up, and shower without waiting for the fill hose, especially handy at busy summer check-ins.

What should I expect inside a Granbury motorhome rental?

Your motorhome rental in Granbury comes ready for adventure. Most listings on RVezy include a queen bed, convertible dinette and sofa beds (sleeping 4 to 8 people), a full kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with air conditioning and furnace, a TV, and seatbelts for every passenger seat. Many also feature a generator (essential for July and August Texas heat), outdoor speakers, and an awning for shade at Lake Granbury sites. Wi-Fi varies, hosts will note if a hotspot is included, otherwise plan to tether from your phone (Verizon and AT&T both have strong Hood County coverage). Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count and review the listing photos carefully to confirm bed configurations match your group.

What add-ons and pickup details should I know about?

Hosts in Granbury offer practical add-ons that make your trip smoother: linen and bedding packs, kitchen kits, camping chairs and outdoor rugs, generators with included hours, bike racks, kayaks (perfect for Lake Granbury), and propane refills. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Granbury, Acton, or Pecan Plantation, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough covering every system. Drop-off is typically the same location at the agreed time, and many hosts offer late pickup or early return for a small fee. Mileage allowances vary by listing and are clearly shown before you book. Pro tip: add the linen pack on your first rental, you'll thank yourself instead of hauling sheets and towels from home.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment on RVezy is straightforward and secure. You pay through the platform with a credit card at the time of booking (no cash handed to hosts), and your total includes the nightly rate, mileage allowance, protection plan, service fees, and any add-ons you select. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized on your card a few days before pickup and released after the trip once the host confirms the RV came back in good condition with tanks emptied and fuel topped off. To avoid deposit issues on your Granbury RV rental, follow the host's checkout instructions, dump at a local RV park dump station before returning, and document any pre-existing scratches with photos at pickup. Pro tip: send the host a quick walkaround video at pickup, it protects everyone.
