2024 Winnebago Class B
Jerry was very flexible with picking up and dropping off. Very nice guy. We traveled from Long Beach to Nashville me my wife and my two kids in the Solis and we had the most comfortable drive. Very friendly user vehicle and Jerry was very good at explaining how everything works. We had a great time and the unlimited mileage was a huge benefit. The RV fits where a minivan fits and the all around visibility from the cockpit is amazing. Not to mention that all safety features are also a huge plus with brake assistance and blind spots with folding mirrors. Highly recommended.

Jesse is great! This is my second time renting a camper from him and he has been very easy to work with. We were camping locally and he even stopped by to check on us the day after our departure and brought us an outdoor rug just in case we got some rain! I highly recommend him and we will certainly be using him again in the future!

No commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement is required for the Class A, B, C motorhomes and travel trailers listed on RVezy. Approved renters are generally 25 or older, and ID verification happens right in the RVezy platform when you book, so there's no extra paperwork on pickup day. Visiting from outside the US? You're covered from the moment you book. Every RV rental in Hornsby Bend, TX through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you're not navigating a flat tire on TX-130 or a dead battery at McKinney Falls State Park alone. The protection plan helps cover most accidental damage to the RV during your trip, giving you real peace of mind. During checkout you'll choose from multiple protection tiers, with higher tiers offering lower deductibles and broader coverage. Pick the level that fits how far you're traveling, then enjoy your Texas RV trip knowing the RVezy support team has your back day or night.

Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy on every reservation (hosts do not set their own), which includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. If life happens, severe weather, a family emergency, or a Texas flash flood warning along the Colorado River, the RVezy support team can help you sort options. Refund amounts depend on how far out you cancel from your trip start date, and natural disaster situations are reviewed case by case. The simplest move: reach out to RVezy support as soon as your plans change so they can guide you through next steps.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Hornsby Bend?
Absolutely, dogs are welcome on many Hornsby Bend trips. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see pet-friendly RV rental Hornsby Bend options, then message the host to share your dog's size and confirm any cleaning fee. Once you've got the keys, McKinney Falls State Park (about 15 minutes southwest) allows leashed pets on all trails including the Onion Creek Hike and Bike Trail, and Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park just north of Hornsby Bend is another leash-friendly favorite. Pro tip: Texas summers are brutal on paws, so plan walks before 10 a.m. and pack a collapsible water bowl. Most pet-friendly hosts also leave a lint roller in the rig.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/mckinney-falls/park_infoCan the RV be delivered to my campsite or home in Hornsby Bend?
Yes, RV delivery Hornsby Bend is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-timers. Many hosts will drive the RV directly to your campsite at McKinney Falls State Park, Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis, or even your driveway in Austin's Colony, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. This is a game-changer if you're flying into Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (a short drive south of Hornsby Bend) and don't want to drive a 30-foot motorhome through city traffic. Use the Delivery filter to see hosts offering this service. Delivery fees are usually based on distance, so closer campgrounds cost less.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Hornsby%20Bend%2C%20TexasHow far can I drive from Hornsby Bend, and is there RV rental with unlimited mileage?
You've got serious road-trip range from here. Hosts on RVezy set their own mileage policies, and yes, you can absolutely find RV rental with unlimited mileage by filtering or messaging hosts directly, which is ideal if you're plotting a long Texas loop. Popular drives from Hornsby Bend include Fredericksburg wine country (about 90 miles west), San Antonio and the River Walk (80 miles south), Big Bend National Park (roughly 430 miles west), Padre Island National Seashore (250 miles southeast), and Palo Duro Canyon (490 miles northwest). For most weekend trips, a 100-mile-per-day allowance is plenty. Pro tip: ask the host about overage rates upfront so a spontaneous detour to Enchanted Rock doesn't surprise you.
nps.gov/bibe/index.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Hornsby Bend for RV camping?
You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Hornsby Bend for RV camping start with McKinney Falls State Park (about 6 miles southwest), with water and electric hookups, well-maintained sites, and waterfalls on Onion Creek. Oak Forest RV Park is a short drive away with full hookups and easy I-35 access. Austin area KOA campgrounds in nearby Bastrop offer pull-throughs, a pool, and welcome big rigs. McKinney Roughs Nature Park and Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis (about 45 minutes west) round out the list for scenic RV camping Hornsby Bend trips. Book McKinney Falls up to 5 months ahead through Texas State Parks reservations, weekends sell out fast.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/mckinney-falls/fees-facilitiesWhen is the best time of year for a Hornsby Bend RV trip?
The sweet spot is mid-October through late April. Hornsby Bend sits in a humid subtropical climate where summer highs regularly hit 95 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit (June through September), making fall, winter, and spring the smart-money seasons for a Hornsby Bend RV trip. October and November bring 70 to 80 degree days and excellent birding at the Hornsby Bend Bird Observatory, one of Travis County's top eBird hotspots. March wildflower season carpets the roadsides in bluebonnets, perfect for Hill Country day trips. Winter overnight lows are typically mild, so heated tanks are rarely required. Pro tip: avoid SXSW week in mid-March unless you're attending; traffic and pricing spike across Austin.
weather.gov/ewx/I'm a first-time renter. How do I learn to operate the RV?
First time renting an RV? You're in great hands. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup (or at delivery if they're bringing the RV to you), covering the generator, slide-outs, propane, water tanks, awning, leveling, and dump procedures. Take a few minutes to video the walkthrough on your phone so you have a reference later. Hosts also stay reachable by text or call throughout your trip, and if anything goes sideways, 24/7 roadside assistance is included with your protection plan. Pro tip: for your first night, book somewhere close like McKinney Falls State Park (about 15 minutes from Hornsby Bend) so if you have a question about dumping tanks or extending the slide, you can call the host and quickly get answers.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?
You're never stranded. Every RVezy booking in Hornsby Bend includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, jump starts, and towing if needed. One call gets a professional dispatched, whether you're on US-290 heading to Fredericksburg or in the Lost Pines near Bastrop State Park. Your host is also a direct lifeline; most respond within minutes for quick fixes like resetting the converter or relighting the water heater. Pro tip: save both the RVezy support number and your host's number in your phone before leaving Hornsby Bend, and snap a photo of the VIN and license plate in case you need them.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?
You've got the whole continental US to explore. An RV road trip from Hornsby Bend across state lines into Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Arkansas is fully allowed on most RVezy rentals, just give your host a heads-up so they know your route. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy booking because insurance and protection coverage do not extend across the border. Popular multi-state routes from Hornsby Bend include White Sands National Park (660 miles west), New Orleans (510 miles east), and Hot Springs, Arkansas (520 miles northeast). Pro tip: South Padre Island is just 360 miles south and stays inside Texas, perfect if you want a beach trip without the border paperwork.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-goWhat should I budget for fuel on a Hornsby Bend RV trip?
Good news: Texas has some of the cheapest gas in the country, which keeps fuel costs friendly. Expect a Class C motorhome to get 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG), a Class B campervan 14 to 20 MPG, and a truck pulling a travel trailer 10 to 12 MPG. With Hornsby Bend area gas typically running well below the national average, a weekend trip to Fredericksburg and back (about 200 miles) usually costs $60 to $100 in fuel for a Class C. Fill up in Hornsby Bend or at the Buc-ee's in Bastrop (great prices, clean restrooms, brisket sandwiches) before heading into the Hill Country, where prices climb. Pro tip: GasBuddy is your friend.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Hornsby Bend?
Book early and you'll have your pick. Texas State Parks like McKinney Falls and Bastrop State Park open reservations 5 months in advance through the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system, and weekends from March through May plus October through November often sell out quickly after release. Private parks like Oak Forest RV Park and the Austin area KOA generally book 1 to 3 months ahead, though weekday sites often have last-minute openings. For Formula 1 weekend at Circuit of The Americas (October) or ACL Festival, secure your spot 6 months out. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for exactly 5 months before your target weekend at McKinney Falls and book at 8 a.m. Central, when daily inventory drops.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/park-information/reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Hornsby Bend?
Driving here is mostly relaxed once you know the rhythm. Hornsby Bend sits east of Austin off FM 969, with quick access to TX-130 (a toll road, perfect for avoiding I-35 traffic) and US-183. Stick to TX-130 for north-south travel in a larger motorhome; it's wide, fast, and rarely congested. Avoid downtown Austin and the I-35 corridor between 7 and 9 a.m. and 4 and 6:30 p.m., especially around the South Congress area where overhead clearances tighten. Spring and fall can bring sudden thunderstorms, so check radar before crossing the Colorado River low-water bridges. Pro tip: a campervan rental Hornsby Bend trip handles city streets better than a 30-foot Class A if you plan to explore Austin proper.
drivetexas.org/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Hornsby Bend?
You'll get the essentials and then some. Most campgrounds near Hornsby Bend offer 30/50-amp electric hookups, potable water fills, and dump stations on-site. McKinney Falls State Park has water and electric at every RV site plus a centralized dump station, hot showers, and flush restrooms. Oak Forest RV Park and Austin East KOA add full sewer hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi, and pools. Need to dump or fill water without staying overnight? The City of Austin operates a dump station, and several Buc-ee's locations within 30 minutes (Bastrop, Luling) allow propane fills. Pro tip: Texas water can be hard, so a portable inline filter on your fresh water hose keeps the RV's plumbing happy.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/mckinney-falls/fees-facilitiesWhat's inside a typical motorhome rental in Hornsby Bend?
More comfort than you'd expect. A typical motorhome rental Hornsby Bend listing includes a queen or king bed, a full kitchen with refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with air conditioning (essential for Texas summers), and seatbelted seating for everyone in your party. Many rigs include a TV and onboard generators for off-grid power, and Class A and C motorhomes often have slide-outs that expand living space. Campervans are leaner but pack clever storage and pop-tops for extra sleeping. Wi-Fi isn't always standard, but cellular coverage around Hornsby Bend and most Hill Country routes is strong, so a hotspot from your phone usually does the trick.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Hornsby%20Bend%2C%20TexasWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when I rent an RV in Hornsby Bend?
Hosts make it easy to customize your trip. When you rent an RV in Hornsby Bend, common add-ons include linen and towel packs, kitchen kits with pots and dishes, outdoor chairs and tables, generators or extra propane, bike racks, and even pre-stocked firewood. Pickup is typically at the host's address near Hornsby Bend or Austin's Colony, with most offering a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included free. Mileage policies range from around 100 miles per day to unlimited, so compare listings carefully. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen pack for a true turnkey arrival, especially great for a family RV trip Hornsby Bend where you'd rather start the vacation than build the campsite.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Hornsby%20Bend%2C%20TexasHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
It's straightforward and secure. You pay for your Hornsby Bend RV rental directly through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, no cash changes hands with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) and released back to you after the trip once the host confirms the RV is returned in good shape. Damage charges, if any, are handled through RVezy, not in person. Pro tip: photograph the exterior, interior, and odometer at pickup and again at drop-off (with timestamps) so there's a clear record. That single habit prevents most deposit disputes and protects both you and the host.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I rent a campervan in Hornsby Bend for a quick Hill Country getaway?
Yes, and it's one of the best ways to explore. A campervan rental Hornsby Bend trip gives you nimble driving for twisty Hill Country roads, easy parking at Hamilton Pool Preserve and Pedernales Falls State Park, and a small enough footprint to overnight at boutique wineries through programs like Harvest Hosts. From Hornsby Bend you're 35 miles to Dripping Springs (Texas wedding and distillery capital), 90 miles to Fredericksburg, and 60 miles to Wimberley and Jacob's Well. Campervans typically sleep 2 to 4, get 18 to 22 MPG, and include a small kitchen, bed, and sometimes a wet bath. Pro tip: book a Friday-to-Monday trip and hit three wineries plus one swimming hole, classic Hill Country.
