I cannot say enough good things about my rental experience with Jose! From the very beginning, he was incredibly easy to work with and made the entire process completely stress-free.I had the RV delivered directly to the campground, and Jose took "ready to enjoy" to a whole new level. I watched him quickly set everything up, and he didn't just hook up the utilities—he completely curated the outdoor space right in front of me. He set out the outdoor rug, chairs, and table perfectly so it was ready to go. All I literally had to do was walk in with my bags and start relaxing. The RV itself was pristine and fully loaded—there was absolutely nothing missing or that I needed to bring myself. Plus, having three TVs was an amazing, luxury touch! While it was just me on this trip, this spacious and thoughtful setup would be absolutely perfect for families. If you want a seamless, premium, and hospitable RV rental, look no further than Jose. I will definitely be renting from him again!

We had an amazing experience renting from Dakota! The RV was delivered early, which was a great surprise and really got us excited for the trip. When Dakota couldn’t make the delivery himself, he sent Aaron, who did an awesome job with setup and made everything easy. Both were professional and great to work with. I would definitely recommend renting from Dakota or Aaron! I will using them again in the future for sure.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Live Oak?

The sweet spot for a Live Oak RV trip is October through April, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 60s to mid-80s and nights cool into the 40s and 50s, perfect for campfires. Spring (March to early May) brings the famous Texas Hill Country bluebonnets and is gorgeous for short trips up US-281 toward Fredericksburg. Summers in Live Oak are hot, with July and August routinely in the mid-90s and heat index values above 105°F, so plan beach trips to Mustang Island or higher-elevation escapes to the Frio River. Winters are genuinely mild, making December and January excellent shoulder-season months to find a cheap RV rental in Live Oak.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You'll be just fine, and Live Oak is actually a great place for a first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host gives you a full hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, leveling, slide-outs, the generator, water, propane, and waste tanks before you leave the driveway. Many hosts also send a video guide you can rewatch at the campground. If you're new to driving something larger, start by sticking to I-35, Loop 1604, and I-10, which are wide and well-marked, and choose a campervan or smaller Class C for easier handling. Even better, book a delivery so the RV is set up and ready when you arrive. Hosts are typically just a text away the whole trip.

What happens if something breaks down during my trip?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Live Oak comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included with the RVezy renter protection plan, so if you have a flat on I-410, a dead battery at Canyon Lake, or a propane question at midnight, one call gets a professional dispatched. Your host is also typically reachable by text and can troubleshoot quirks specific to their rig. RVezy's support team is available before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center and phone line. South Texas has plenty of RV service shops and Camping World locations along I-35 between Live Oak and Austin, so even bigger issues get resolved quickly. Most renters never need to use any of this, but it is there.

What are the best RV road trips from Live Oak?

An RV road trip from Live Oak puts some of Texas's best scenery within an easy day's drive. Top routes include the Texas Hill Country loop through Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, and Enchanted Rock State Natural Area (about 90 minutes northwest); the Gulf Coast run to Port Aransas and Mustang Island State Park (about 3 hours southeast); a Big Bend National Park expedition via US-90 through Del Rio and Marathon (7 to 8 hours west); and a quick Austin getaway via I-35 for music and BBQ (about 80 miles north). Cross-border travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, but you have endless options inside Texas. Many hosts allow travel into neighboring states like New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Louisiana, just confirm during the booking request.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for in a Live Oak RV?

Budgeting fuel is easier than you might think. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 MPG, Class A coaches average 7 to 10 MPG, and a truck pulling a travel trailer usually sees 10 to 14 MPG. Texas often has some of the lowest pump prices in the country, and Live Oak stations are frequently 20 to 50 cents per gallon below the national average. The Buc-ee's in New Braunfels (about 30 minutes north on I-35) is famous for low prices and clean restrooms, making it a great fuel stop before heading into Hill Country. For a 4-night trip with around 400 miles of driving in a Class C, expect roughly $150 to $200 in fuel.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Live Oak?

Booking early pays off in this region. For Texas state parks such as Guadalupe River, Garner, or Mustang Island, reservations open up to 5 months in advance through the Texas Parks & Wildlife reservation system, and prime weekends from March through May sell out quickly. For private RV resorts near Live Oak such as Admiralty RV Resort or Alamo Fiesta RV Resort, aim for 1 to 3 months ahead, and longer for Spring Break, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Thanksgiving. Midweek arrivals are far easier to snag last minute. Insider tip: if you strike out on a Saturday night, book Sunday through Thursday and you will have your pick of premium sites at almost any park.

What is it like driving an RV around Live Oak and San Antonio?

Driving an RV around Live Oak is refreshingly manageable. The town sits right at the intersection of I-35 and Loop 1604, both wide multi-lane highways built for big vehicles, and rush hour is lighter than in Austin or Houston. Avoid downtown San Antonio's narrow streets near the Alamo and River Walk, where some bridge clearances are low, by parking at the Alamodome lots or RV-friendly resorts and using rideshare into downtown. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms from May through September, and take flash flood warnings at low water crossings seriously. Beyond the city, Hill Country roads are gentle and scenic, with no mountain passes to worry about on your Live Oak RV trip.
drivetexas.org/

What hookups and amenities do campgrounds near Live Oak have?

You will find excellent infrastructure for RV camping in Live Oak. Most private parks within a 30-minute radius, including Admiralty RV Resort, Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort, and Stone Creek RV Park, offer full hookups (water, sewer, and 30/50-amp electric), Wi-Fi, pools, laundry, and dog parks. Texas state parks like Guadalupe River and Government Canyon typically provide water and electric, with dump stations on-site rather than at each site. For potable water fill-ups and dumping on travel days, several Pilot and Flying J truck stops along I-35 and I-10 have dedicated RV lanes. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking water hose and a basic surge protector, since older parks occasionally have unpredictable pedestal voltage.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/park-information/facilities

What features and amenities will my Live Oak RV rental have?

You can expect a true home on wheels. Most RV rentals in Live Oak come fully equipped with sleeping for 4 to 8, a kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and cookware, a bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning (essential in the South Texas heat), heating, and seatbelts for everyone riding. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a propane grill. Generator-equipped Class C and Class A rigs let you boondock comfortably. Wi-Fi varies, so most travelers rely on a personal hotspot or unlimited data plan. Each RVezy listing spells out exactly what is included, what is optional, and what you may want to bring, so there are no surprises at pickup.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Live%20Oak%2C%20Texas

What add-ons and pickup options can I expect when I rent an RV in Live Oak?

Hosts make it easy to customize your campervan rental in Live Oak or motorhome trip. Common add-ons include linens and towel packages ($30 to $75), kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, outdoor grills, propane refills, and even pre-stocked snack baskets. Pickup is usually at the host's home, often in north San Antonio or along the Randolph AFB corridor, with a 30 to 60-minute walkthrough. Delivery to area campgrounds, hotels near SAT airport, or your driveway is widely available, with fees based on round-trip distance. Mileage policies typically include 100 to 150 free miles per night with reasonable overage rates. Confirm any add-ons in the booking request so they are locked in before you arrive.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple, secure, and handled entirely through the RVezy platform. You pay the nightly rate, RVezy service fee, and any host-selected fees with a credit or debit card at booking, and you choose your renter protection plan level during checkout. A refundable security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before your trip starts, and it is released back to you after the host confirms the rig was returned in good condition. Never pay a host directly or off-platform, since the protection plan and roadside coverage only apply to bookings completed on RVezy. That is how every renter stays protected on their Live Oak RV trip.
