Had a great time! Earl had the coach set up with the a/c on and the lounge chairs and fire pit already set up when we pulled into Texas Motorplex. Had one issue and Earl came through like a BOSS! I can’t wait to go back to the track and Earl will be the host we use no doubt. Thanks for the great experience

Jacob was great to work with, the rv was great, simple to set up and operate. Everything needed to hook up water, elect, and sewer was provided, plus some. We towed with a Dodge 2500 4dr, 8’ bed Cummins diesel, towed like a dream with a straight hitch even in the west Texas winds from Arlington TX to Ruisoso NM and back. I was very happy with the RV, and the owner. 5 stars

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Palmer, TX?

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You're going to do great, and Palmer is one of the easier places in Texas to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup, covering driving, leveling, water, electrical, and waste systems, and you can message them through the RVezy app anytime during your trip. The flat farm roads around Palmer, like FM 813 and FM 660, are ideal for getting comfortable before you hit I-45 or I-35E. First time renting an RV? Can I take my Palmer RV rental on an RV road trip across state lines or to Mexico?

Cross-state travel is welcome on most RVezy bookings, so an RV road trip from Palmer to Hot Springs Arkansas (about 320 miles), New Orleans (roughly 500 miles), or Santa Fe New Mexico (around 650 miles) is totally doable. Confirm interstate travel with your host through the listing message thread before booking, since some owners cap travel range. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because the protection plan and roadside coverage do not extend across the border. Stick to Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and the broader Southwest, and you'll have endless options for your motorhome rental Palmer adventure.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Palmer RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable cost, but Texas keeps it manageable. Class C motorhomes near Palmer typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class B campervans average 16 to 20 mpg, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Texas gas prices often run below the national average, and Buc-ee's locations in Ennis and Terrell offer some of the most competitive fuel prices and best snack stops in the state. For a 300-mile weekend loop in a Class C, budget roughly $110 to $150 in fuel at current Texas pump prices. Driving 55 to 60 mph instead of 70 can stretch a tank noticeably.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Palmer?

For the best campgrounds near Palmer, aim to reserve 60 to 90 days ahead for spring and fall weekends, and even earlier for bluebonnet season in April or Texas Motorplex race weekends in Ennis. Texas State Parks like Cedar Hill release reservations up to five months in advance through the official Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation portal, and prime lakeside sites go fast. Private parks like Rockett RV Ranch can often accommodate last-minute weeknight stays. Pro tip: if a weekend looks full, grab a Thursday to Sunday slot instead of Friday to Sunday, you'll have more selection and quieter neighbors.

What are driving conditions like around Palmer, TX?

Driving conditions around Palmer are very RV-friendly. The town sits right on Interstate 45 between Dallas and Corsicana, with wide lanes, gentle terrain, and minimal elevation changes, ideal for first-timers behind a motorhome. Traffic on I-45 can thicken during Dallas rush hour (roughly 7 to 9 am and 4 to 7 pm), so plan departures outside those windows. Watch for occasional severe spring thunderstorms from April through June, and avoid driving in high winds with tall travel trailers. Rural FM roads in Ellis County are smooth and lightly trafficked. Pro tip: use I-20 west to skirt central Dallas if you're heading toward Fort Worth.

Cedar Hill State Park has water and electric sites plus a centralized dump station and potable water fill. For dump-and-fill needs on the road, several truck stops along I-45 offer dump stations, often for a small fee. Pro tip: arrive with full fresh-water tanks if you're heading to a state park weekend, the fill station can get a line on Friday afternoons.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure on RVezy. You pay the full rental amount through the platform at booking using a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which keeps your money protected. A refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) is pre-authorized on your card before pickup and released back to you after the trip, assuming no damage and the RV is returned with tanks and fuel as agreed. Pro tip: take a quick video walkaround of the RV at both pickup and drop-off. It's the easiest way to avoid any deposit disputes and keeps everything smooth.
