Had such a great time. Camper was clean and ready to pack up and leave. Camper was showing it’s age, but the price seemed to be adjusted for it.. Over all we were very happy with this rental.

2022 Jayco Travel Trailer
Renting Brandon's 2022 Jayco Jay Feather Micro 199mbs was an awesome and smooth experience! He was super flexible with the pickup, and drop-off time. This was my first time renting a camper trailer and to be honest, it was kind of overwhelming at first, but Brandon walked me through every detail and put all of my concerns to rest. He was also available for any and all questions and responded immediately. There were quite a few features on this trailer, and with his help, I'm now an experienced trailer camper! He's also super friendly and professional. Furthermore, I requested a few add-ons that made the experience even better: we got the fishing, smores and inflatable SUP kit add-ons. The inflatable paddle board was of amazing quality, it was hard to believe it was just inflatable. Now I want one for myself. Brandon was on point and I'm already looking for an excuse to rent it again from him. My Family didn't want to leave the trailer and I wish I had rented it for longer.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Garden City, UT

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Garden City, UT?

RV rental in Garden City is more affordable than you might think, especially compared to lakeside hotel rates near Bear Lake. On RVezy, campervan rentals start around $90 to $150 per night, travel trailers typically run $125 to $200, and larger Class C motorhomes range from $200 to $325 nightly. Summer weekends (mid-June through Labor Day) book fastest and command peak prices, so if you want a cheap RV rental in Garden City, target late May, early June, or September when the lake is still gorgeous but rates drop noticeably. Pro tip: book a travel trailer with delivery to Bear Lake State Park Marina and split it among 4 to 6 friends, the per-person cost often beats a single motel room in town.

What kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Garden City?

Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Garden City, Utah. There is no special RV endorsement or commercial license required in Utah for the motorhomes, campervans, or travel trailers listed on RVezy, even larger Class A rigs. To qualify as an approved driver on RVezy you generally need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and ID verification happens right inside the booking flow, so there is no extra DMV trip. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit and you are set. Most first-time renters are surprised how easy the paperwork side really is, leaving you free to focus on picking your Bear Lake itinerary.

What is included in RVezy's protection package for my Bear Lake trip?

Every RV rental in Garden City booked through RVezy comes with a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head up the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway with real peace of mind. RVezy offers tiered renter protection plans that you choose at checkout, with coverage levels for physical damage to the RV during your trip. Roadside assistance is included with every protection plan and covers tire changes, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing, helpful when you are towing up the 7,800-foot summit between Logan and Garden City. Add a thorough host walkthrough at pickup and you are genuinely covered.

What if I need to cancel my Garden City RV rental?

You can book your RV rental in Garden City with confidence. RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the entire platform, not individual hosts, so the process is consistent no matter which listing you choose. Refund eligibility depends on how far out from your trip you cancel, and full details are outlined in the RVezy Help Center before you book. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or helps you rebook so your Bear Lake plans stay on track. Pro tip: lock in your dates early to secure the best Bear Lake lakefront RVs, then review the cancellation terms in the Help Center so you know exactly where you stand if weather or plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a Garden City RV trip?

Absolutely, Bear Lake is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in northern Utah, and pet-friendly RV rental in Garden City is easy to find on RVezy by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter. Many hosts welcome dogs with a small cleaning fee, and you can message them directly before booking to confirm. Once here, your pup can romp at Bear Lake State Park campgrounds (leashed, and note dogs are not allowed on the Rendezvous Beach day-use sand), splash at North Eden on the quieter east shore, or trot the Limber Pine Nature Trail just up Logan Canyon. The KOA Trail Side even has a KampK9 off-leash area. Pack a water bowl, the high-altitude sun (5,923 feet) dehydrates dogs fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite at Bear Lake?

Yes, RV delivery in Garden City is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it is a game-changer if you have never towed before. Many local hosts will drive the RV straight to Bear Lake State Park Marina, Rendezvous Beach, or any of the KOA sites, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. You just show up with groceries and swimsuits. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy to see who offers it and the per-mile fee (most Garden City hosts deliver within a 20 to 30 mile radius, easily covering Laketown, Fish Haven, and St. Charles, ID). It is the easiest way to enjoy a Bear Lake RV trip without ever sitting behind a big wheel.

How does mileage work, and how far can I realistically travel from Garden City?

Mileage policies are set by each host, and on RVezy you will see options ranging from 100 free miles per night to RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect if you are dreaming bigger than just Bear Lake. From Garden City you are about 41 miles up the Logan Canyon Scenic Byway to Logan, 130 miles to Salt Lake City, 130 miles to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and roughly 240 miles to Yellowstone's south entrance. Most renters staying around Bear Lake stick under 200 miles total, which fits comfortably in standard mileage packages. Pro tip: if you are planning a Yellowstone or Tetons loop, filter for unlimited mileage listings up front, you will save more than you would haggling on the nightly rate.

Where are the best campgrounds near Garden City to park my RV?

Garden City sits right at the heart of Bear Lake's RV scene, with some of the best campgrounds near Garden City just minutes from town. Top picks: Bear Lake State Park Marina (1 mile north on US-89, full hookups at some loops, walk to the seven-lane boat ramp); Rendezvous Beach (10 minutes south near Laketown, with Birch and Big Creek loops offering 50-amp full hookups and that famous sandy swimming beach); Bear Lake Trail Side KOA Journey and Marina Side KOA Holiday (both in town, ideal for first-timers); Bear Lake Venture Park on N Bear Lake Blvd; and the primitive Cisco Beach on the quieter east shore. Book Birch and Big Creek months ahead, they are the hottest tickets on the lake.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/

When is the best time to visit Garden City and Bear Lake in an RV?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Garden City is mid-June through early September, when daytime highs sit in the 75 to 85°F range and Bear Lake's water finally warms enough for swimming (it is famously chilly until early July). Late July through mid-August is peak raspberry season, the town's Raspberry Days festival the first weekend of August is a must. September brings 65 to 75°F days, smaller crowds, and stunning aspen color in Logan Canyon, easily the smartest-money window. Winters are genuinely cold here at 5,923 feet, with January lows near 10°F, but ice fishing for Bonneville cisco in January is a bucket-list Bear Lake experience if your RV has heated tanks.

I have never rented an RV before. Will I actually be okay driving around Bear Lake?

You will absolutely be okay, first time renting an RV around Bear Lake is genuinely manageable because the main routes (US-89 along the west shore, UT-30 across the south end, and Cisco Road on the east) are paved, two-lane, and lightly trafficked outside July and August. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the propane, water, slides, and dump valves, and you can message them mid-trip if something feels off. If Logan Canyon's switchbacks make you nervous, just book delivery and skip the driving entirely. Pro tip: practice backing into a pull-through site at the Bear Lake KOA on your first night before tackling a tighter spot at Cisco Beach.

What happens if I have a mechanical problem during my Bear Lake trip?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Garden City booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance with your renter protection plan, covering tire changes, jump-starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing. Bear Lake sits in a remote valley, with the nearest larger-city service in Logan about 41 miles west through the canyon, so this matters. For day-to-day questions like how to empty the gray tank, your host is just a message away in the RVezy app, and RVezy support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's propane shutoff and main breaker locations during your walkthrough, it saves a call when you are settled in at Cisco Beach with limited cell service.

Can I take my Garden City RV rental into Idaho, Wyoming, or down to Salt Lake City?

Yes, and it is one of the best things about Bear Lake's location, an RV road trip from Garden City can easily cross into Idaho (the state line is just 7 miles north on US-89), and Wyoming and Salt Lake City are also fair game. Popular routes include the loop around Bear Lake into Fish Haven and St. Charles, Idaho (home to Minnetonka Cave), Jackson Hole via US-89 (about 2.5 hours), and Yellowstone via Alpine Junction. Cross-state travel within the US is covered under your RVezy booking; just confirm with your host. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Pro tip: top up fuel in Montpelier, ID, prices there often beat Garden City by 20 to 30 cents per gallon.
visitidaho.org/things-to-do/parks-recreation/bear-lake-state-park/

How much should I budget for fuel on a Bear Lake RV trip?

Plan smart and fuel is rarely the budget-buster. A Class C motorhome around Bear Lake averages 8 to 10 miles per gallon, a campervan rental in Garden City (think Class B) gets 16 to 20 mpg, and a truck-and-travel-trailer combo lands around 10 to 12 mpg. Gas in Garden City typically runs 10 to 30 cents above the Utah state average because of its remote location, so fill up in Logan before climbing US-89 over the 7,800-foot summit. A typical 4-night Bear Lake trip with one day-trip up Logan Canyon and one to Minnetonka Cave totals roughly 150 to 250 miles, budget $80 to $180 for fuel depending on rig size.

How far in advance should I book a campground at Bear Lake?

Book as early as you can, Bear Lake State Park campsites are some of the most competitive in Utah. The Utah State Parks reservation system opens sites on a four-month rolling window (so January 10 unlocks dates through May 10), and the full-hookup Birch and Big Creek loops at Rendezvous Beach sell out within minutes of release for July weekends and the August Raspberry Days festival. Reserve at utahstateparks.reserveamerica.com or call 800-322-3770. KOA Marina Side and Trail Side typically have more flexibility but still fill 6 to 8 weeks ahead for summer. Pro tip: set a calendar alert for the four-month-out date at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time, that's the magic moment to grab a lakefront site.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/

What are the driving conditions like around Garden City?

Driving around Garden City is straightforward in summer and stunning year-round, but a few local tips help. US-89 between Logan and Garden City climbs through Logan Canyon to a 7,800-foot summit with 40 to 50 mph posted curves, take it slow in a tall RV and use lower gears on the descent into Bear Lake Valley. UT-30 across the south end is flat and easy. The east-shore Cisco Road is paved but narrow with no shoulders. Summer thunderstorms can dump quickly in the afternoon, and winter brings serious snow and ice from November to April, UDOT often requires chains or snow tires on US-89. Check udot.utah.gov before you head out, then enjoy one of the prettiest drives in the West.
udot.utah.gov/connect/public/road-weather-alerts/

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Garden City?

You have options across the comfort spectrum. Full-hookup campgrounds like Birch and Big Creek at Rendezvous Beach offer 50/30/15-amp power, water, and sewer at every site, plus flush toilets and hot showers, ideal if you want long showers and AC all night. Bear Lake State Park Marina also has hookups and a dump station. The east-shore primitive campgrounds (Cisco Beach, Rainbow Cove, North Eden, South Eden) have vault toilets and no hookups, perfect for self-contained rigs chasing solitude. Both KOAs in Garden City have full hookups, laundry, Wi-Fi, and pools. Need to dump and refill water? Bear Lake State Park Marina has a dump station and potable water fill open to the public for a small fee.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/

What's inside the RVs I can rent in Garden City?

More than you might expect. A typical motorhome rental in Garden City sleeps 4 to 8 and comes with a queen or king bed, dinette and sofa that convert to extra sleeping, a full kitchen (3-burner stove, fridge, microwave, sink), bathroom with toilet and shower, roof AC, propane furnace, and seatbelted travel seats for everyone driving down US-89. Most listings include a TV, and many have Wi-Fi hotspots or onboard generators, key for the off-grid east-shore campgrounds where there is no shore power. Travel trailers and fifth wheels offer similar layouts without the drive-cab. Each RVezy listing spells out exactly what's included; filter by Sleeps count to match your family RV trip to Garden City.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

RVezy hosts in Garden City often offer add-ons that make life easier: kayaks and paddleboards (Bear Lake essentials, usually $25 to $50 per day), bedding and linen packages ($25 to $75 per trip), camping chairs and outdoor rugs, generators for boondocking at Cisco Beach, and bike racks. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Garden City, with delivery to lakefront campgrounds common for an extra fee. Mileage policies vary by listing, so look at both the nightly rate and the included miles before booking. Pro tip: book a host who includes paddleboards, renting them in town during peak season can run $60 to $80 each per day, the add-on pays for itself fast.
stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay the full rental amount through RVezy at the time of booking using a credit or debit card, no cash exchange with the host. A separate security deposit is placed as a hold on your card before your trip and is not charged unless there is an issue, with typical amounts ranging from $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV. The deposit is released after your trip ends, assuming no damage beyond normal wear, late return, or excess mileage. To avoid surprises, take time-stamped photos of the interior and exterior at pickup and dropoff, return with the same fuel level you started with, and message your host through the RVezy app for anything unusual.

Can I rent an RV in Garden City during winter for ice fishing or snowmobiling?

Yes, winter RV rentals in Garden City are absolutely doable, and Bear Lake in winter is a hidden gem. The lake freezes about seven out of every ten winters, drawing ice anglers chasing the famous Bonneville cisco run in January (Utah's only native cisco fishery). Snowmobile trails crisscross the surrounding Cache National Forest. To rent comfortably, filter RVezy listings for RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and shore-power setups, then book a campground with winter hookups like Bear Lake Trail Side KOA, which stays open year-round. Pro tip: ask your host to skirt the RV and leave a heated water hose, it makes the difference between a magical snowy weekend and a frozen pipe.
